Good video! @ 2:45 you talk about the bearing tangs. Then you mention how the tag is there to stop the bearing from spinning. That’s incorrect. It’s housing bore dimension that sets the proper amount of bearing crush that is what stops the bearing from spinning. The tang is merely for lateral (front to rear) location of the bearing.
Very informative I like how you take your time and explain everything I'm building my first motor at 73 years old 302 Ford with a turbo in a 32 Ford Roadster hot rod
Finally starting to put everything back together. I scored a great deal on a set of trickflow heads yesterday. So i have a set of gt40ps that need a home lol. Wish me luck lol so glad i have your videos to guide me on my first rebuild lol
Thanks for the video, just wanted to talk about one observation for others using plastic gauge. You used the RED which is for industrial use, the GREEN is for engine building and in my experience gives a totally different reading. You are actually probably a little tighter than the red showed. Just a tech tip I learned building many 5.0s.
I am glad to see you little brother and know that everything is ok with you and as usual we love the video one day at a time and it will get done keep up the good work
I like what your doing with these videos. The schedule's realistic IMO, and you explain and show what your doing very well. I like the hustle too to have some sponsors. View counts will probably blow up once you have a build complete and attract new viewers who want to back into the old content. If your not key wording these videos with things like Budget Fox, Fox Mustang, GT40 Etc. Definitely note SMOG LEGAL and CA. Those are big points of difference, and of course your sponsors. I only mention it because I didn't run across this easy and your making videos that are much better than what is getting hits. Keep it up.
Thank you for this! It’s extremely helpful for my current project. I’m rebuilding a 302 for my son as a Christmas present. Old flat tappet getting replaced with a 89 HO with a Trickflow stage 1 cam and some ported E6 heads (don’t judge, I’m broke)
Glad to see you back really pumped for this build. I have a 99 explorer with 300k miles and looking to install the same supercharger. Excited to see how you do it. Not a lot of people go into detail like you do. Keep up the good work.
It has been far too long, glad you're back. I been itching to see how you bolt that 3.8 sc on top of that 302. If i don't see it soon i may just stroke out, lol.
Do you ever come to northern cali. Im a big foxbody person. Gettin redy to get one this month. Want a 306. Will a 306 still pass smog and also how much wud u charge for a 306.
Great video but you are a brave man smacking that crank like that without the cam retainer on. Lol After I lube my cams they slide in and out with a light breeze.
Tony I tried emailing you at your website but I wanted to know if you had any gt40 3 bar heads for sale? Thanks for all your videos and keep up the good work.
