I can't help but think the time to remove that last torxs screw and the under panels would have been time well spent. Great video.i might do this when I upgrade shocks...while I'm down there... this video will be super helpful. 👍
Secure install, I installed one myself last week, I saw one issue, the lower bolts are best to be installed facing outwards, reason being, the bolt (the shank) is super snug when going through the Baja Ron spacers, when installed correctly the shank goes through the sway bar then enters the spacers, the spacers just slides right on, also the bolts facing inwards is really close to the under fairing and could damage them. The instruction did show to face the bolts outwards. Initially I wanted to do what you did but realized otherwise. The installation is secure so the rider would be safe, nothing to be concerned from that perspective. I enjoyed watching..
@@RykerRydeshubby just bought the ultimate jack. A Big Blue from the UK. I lifts the complete Spyder off the ground. We did two Baja Ron Sway Bars in week on mine and hubby's F3Ls. Good video.
You missed a golden opportunity! Before you switched the bars, tell Andy you did switch the bars and get her test ride impressions not knowing the original bar was still in place. Then switch the bars and retest and compare impressions.
It's still pretty cold up here in Manitoba, Canada. When it does warm up some , I will order the Baja Ron Sway Bar and try to install it myself. I will watch your video as I do it. Thanks Ray
Just put it on my 23 RT limited today. Took about one hour. Good video just one point or recommendation. I removed the rear skid plate as well, its just 4 push pins and it made getting to the nut on the left side holding the old bushing soooo much simplier. I like the handeling while cornoring. It feels so much more solid than the factory bar. My Only regtet is I wish I had ordered the heavier bar that is offered its not that much more expensive but the standard Baja Ron bar and end links is still head and shoulders above stock. Even on a stright run the steering feels a bit more responsive. I used one 10mm wrench and socket and one 13 mm wrench and socket. I also removed the t30 screw holding the fwd skid plates so I could get them completely out of the way. Happy riding and keep your knees in the breeze!
Thank you so much for the informative comment! I’m sure it will help others. PS next time you’re shopping for something. Please check out my website RykerRydes.com and SpyderRydes.com Ride safe!!!
Hi there ... Thanks for this video. Did the byke feel stable when fully lifted with the HF lift? Did you not use the 2" extension pads for extra height? I'd certainly also use tall jack stands up front. Thanks for any info..
Excellent presentation!...Back in the day we used grease to hold washers in place. ( didn’t work very well) If you’re planning a lot of these upgrades, a soft-faced hammer and a drift pin would be handy. Thank You!😎🇺🇸
What a great and informative video! Can I suggest a lav mic? They make them for iPhones/Android and you can put a fur on it to make it work really well in wind. Thanks again!
I understand it made out of plastic. Did anybody bothered to ask why they would have done that or called them up and asked them. I ask because they have not changed 2024. Why?
Nice video as usual. Sadly BRP has fallen into HD mode having people buy their expensive vehicles then the owners must buy various needed up grades to obtain potential performance. The old saying was let the buyer beware. Happy and safe riding to all !
Interesting viewpoint. None of the add ons are necessary for a great ride. People, in general, enjoy modifying their bikes. But I do understand your point.
One more question Beth about the plate for the Linq cooler that is on the bike how do you remove the plate do I push that button down and then the button pops up and lets me slide the plate off because in your video you showed how to put the plate on but not how to take the plate off, thank you.
Very professional install. You looked like you were enjoying yourself. A relative had an unfortunate accident working without safety glasses under his car when a screwdriver slipped. Kudos to Scott and Ken your production crew. Congrats on 11k subs.👏
Hello Beth I wanted to let you know the board at my condo allowed me yesterday to have the integrated cover for the ryker but not a full cover . So the windshield, handlebars and seat will be what is covered. So I will see how the bike holds out in the sun. I tried to order the back to black product you used but Amazon did not have it in stock at the time I looked so I ordered the VRP back to black it is supposed to also have ultra violet light protection. Are there any other products you can recommend that is safe for the bike that will protect it from the sun like maybe a wax. Love your videos and the one you did with the Linq cooler was very helpful because when I got the bike used it came with that cooler and now I understand how to remove the cooler and what kind of plate is used and I did not even know my bike came with the max mount until I say your video I thought the plate I saw on top was in place of the max mount so now I know I have a ram mount also. Keep the wonderful videos coming and thank you for being such a big help to the ryker community. Over time I will do a video on how the ryker plastic holds up without being covered I never saw a video that talks about that and this could help other people who are in my situation who are not allowed to cover their back and do not want to pay a high monthly fee to store it at a storage unit. I found it a pain anyway having to drive my car somewhere to be able to drive my bike I just want to walk outside the condo and get on the bike and not have to drive to it.
Thank so much for your kind words. I am glad you got to cover your bike, at least partially. Some condo rules, just don't make sense to me. I would try to fight it. As for products to use on your Ryker, Back to Black is my favorite. Just be sure anything you buy, is safe to use on plastics. I would recommend getting a wrap for your bike (AMRracing.com), that is the best way to protect your bike and keep it looking awesome (wrap won't fade in the sun). If you decide to go that way, watch my wrap video for a coupon code. Keep me posted! Ryde safe!
@@RykerRydes thanks for getting back to me. I do not have the patience to do a wrap plus I notice people use dryers when doing the wrap and since I do not have a garage or any outlet outside to plug in a dryer that would make it even more difficult. What would someone charge to put a wrap on for me I would guess it would be expensive since it looks like it is very time consuming
So thats how you get in in the air.. my jack will not fit under my 2022rtl, so I run up on ramps and jack from their but still leaves me 4 inchs short.. ATV lift just forward of center.. Ok a Meroral day ITC sale at HF. Maybe I will get my BajaRon on tomorrow
@@RykerRydes indeed I do. well worth it. well maybe not. I started with a pair of jack/ramps before the ATV lift. I actually own an original Big-Blue lift but it's not rated for a Spyder. I actually removed the 2 T30 screws (left/right covers) and the front 2 push/pins for the right/rear cover providing much easyer access to the bushing pinch bolt nut. All went well until I over tightened the inboard channel pinch bolt and snapped the end off.
EXCELLENT video. I currently own a 2014 RT and am looking at purchasing a 2022 RT, knowing that the Sway Bar will definitely need upgrading. I'm a DYIer, so this video was PERFECT. Thank You! BTW, I remember, all too well, those Florida storms from years ago, living in Orlando. Thanks again.
Today I fitted a BajaRon sway bar to my 2020 RT Ltd. I watched your video last night which helped immensely, especially your tip of using superglue on those small washers on the end links. I’m in Victoria Australia and unfortunately the condition of our country roads has deteriorated in recent years. I’m hoping the new sway bar will make the ride less of a wrestling match when encountering some of our crappy roads. Thanks for your video 👍
Thank you so much for this! I followed it step by step and didn’t even need the directions in the box. Easy Peasy! Installed the Baja Ron sway bar and a Pedal Box. All I can say is you BETTER be holding on! This thing is a rocket ship now wow😮! Here’s how I lifted my F3T…I have a Craftsman motorcycle jack. I had to put 2x4s down in front and drive up on them so I could get the jack under the frame as far front as I could. You do this so the back wheel stays in the ground. Then jack up a good bit and get the jack stands setup under the front arms. Lower the Spyder down onto the jack stands. Drop the jack down even farther then, so I could put 2 ft piece of 4x4 post on top of you jack arms. Now take it up as high as the jack will go and you should be a bit above you jack stand max to put them back under the arms at max height. Then lower her down on to the maxed out jack stands and get to work! This gave me the extra few inches I needed.
I’m getting my Baja Ron sway bar tomorrow (10/17)& hope to install it on Tuesday. This video is VERY helpful and should take the stress out of the install. Your explanations were great - as was the camera work - and will save time & money. Riding season is drawing to a close here in eastern Washington, so I hope to get ‘er done and test it out this week. Thank you so much for, IMO, the best description of the installation process on RU-vid. My next installation will be passenger armrests so I’ll be waiting with bated breath (whatever THAT is!) to see if you have a video on that. 👍🔧🏍
Thank you Beth. It was great finally meeting you after watching many of your videos a few years before I purchased my F3-S last year. I will switch my sway bar out soon. Im the one you signed my sticker at Houston WHAP 2024 The challenge was getting the back off the sticker. LOL. Thank you for all that you do. Much love to you and family.
Thank you so much! It was a pleasure meeting you as well! Yes, the bushings are pre-adjusted. You don’t need to worry about that. When you’re ready, don’t forget to get them from my website: RykerRydes.com
Just installed my new sway bar. I totally removed the two front splash plates. With my luck, I’d have busted them off somewhere along the way had I left them hanging by the T30 screws. Because I don’t have “little girlie fingers”, I also pulled two push pins on that plastic piece to allow it to swing down, providing more room for my short, fat little phalanges to reach up on the “icky side”. As I had hoped, this video made the install go smoothly once I figured out how to best elevate the front end.
After viewing your video and taking notes, today I switched out both of the standard sway bars on our Spyders to the Baja Ron bars. Piece of cake! Hubby helped with handing tools and helping with the bushing placement. It was such a joy to be able to do this! Subscribed to see what else you may come up with!
Thanks for the video Great job the only question is where was you video when I put the baja ron bar on my 2019 ryker rally. Sold our rally's now going to install on 2022 spyder f3"s. A lot easier I had to cut the bar on the ryker. Keep up the great video"s
I do have one more question I noticed the ones that you are using are adjustable Pierre from Ontario has it's given the same set but his aren't looking like the plastic but they're Not adjustable would that make a difference And it's the same price. Another words would I need to adjust them. Or worry about them getting loose His aluminum ones are one piece. There is no adjustment
What height does the actual Jack you used goes to? I can’t find any hack going higher than 17” without breaking the budget. What Jack do you use? Is it one listed in the comments?
Thanks for the video, I just ordered my Baja Ron sway bar for my Spyder so plan to install as soon as I can. I love the Spyder Rydes videos! P.S. I tried to order from your Etsy link but I only saw the sway bars for the Rykers not Spyder.
It does work, I promise. When the jack is just below the sway bar channel, it will raise the front to the necessary height. That jack is the exact one used in the video.
Awesome job! Ken did a great job filming. I know how tough it is to film and get all the information correct. I'm really happy your doing the Spyder side. I can't believe they still use the junk end links. Thank You
Very well done video. You showed a couple of pointers I hadn't seen in other video's. Have my 2020 RTL in the garage now so.... here goes sometime this spring.
Way to go! Thank you for posting this! Hubby and I have two 2023 Can Am Spyders and bought the Baja Ron sway bars for installation. After watching your video, we feel confident enough to do this ourselves! The fact that you took time to point out everything and add a list of tools is very helpful. Now looking forward to doing this to our trikes this weekend. High five!
After getting my sway bar (not sure why they don’t call it an ANTI-sway bar…), I took Jean-Luc out for a spin. I am blessed with many twisty roads in our area, so I had great opportunities to test out the Baja Ron’s. First thing I noticed was how planted my 3-wheeled starship felt just turning corners in the neighborhood. On the windy roads leading into town there was a HUGE difference in how it handled in the curves. Heading back home again (isn’t that a John Denver song?), I practiced lane changes on a straight stretch when there was no oncoming traffic. Very responsive! Sooooo….my advice to anyone even slightly considering the Baja Ron sway (or anti-sway) bars is to go for it! Although the install can go quickly, take your time, watch this video (twice if you have to like I did) and you will be satisfied by not only a far better riding experience, but in the satisfaction of knowing you did the job yourself. You can do it….even if you don’t have “little girlie fingers”!
Yes! The cheapest shipping cost would be $41.20 to send you a sway bar. If you are interested please PM on FB or Instagram your email and shipping address. I will then send you an invoice. 😉
@@RykerRydes it's done only had to lift it 18 inches from sway bar to ground😊. Took me more time to clean up mess lol. Kinda had problem with glued on spacers need to be lined up almost exact no room for error. But I got an advantage I'm a diesel mechanic.
Absolutely that is an option. On my Etsy page I sell the whole kit as well as just the links. The links make a big difference, but the entire sway bar + links makes a huge difference. Hope that helps.
You can take out the play from the plastic end links ,but the overall tension in the bajaron swaybar is higher and they takes a lot of sway and makes the byke really handle better.
It doesn't make sense why would they want to put spacers why not just make the part larger. The dog bo ne. I went to Slingshot but they have one like that but they have nuts which makes it adjustable both sides and they have the ones that are not adjustable That's what I'm Questioning
Nice job and well done! I purchased the sway bar last month. With your video, I am ready and confident to do the installation. Also, that was a nice ST1300 in the driveway.
