HOW TO FIX SPEAKER DISTORTION PROTECT YOUR small dash speaker and tweeters with a bass blocker capacitor. This video will show you why you need them and how to property install a bass blocker capacitor to your speakers. A bass blocker capacitor is an inline frequency filter or crossover that filters out the low frequency know as bass or bass frequencies and prevents the signal from reaching the speaker. Thanks for the video. Would be nice to hear before and after. I'll search your other videos. Most of the bass blockers I've seen have an overall heat shrink to prevent any possibility of a short.

You do realize there's already a high pass filter on the tweeter. By putting another larger capacity capacitor before the inline hpf, you've changed its tuning. You should cut the in line hpf and rewire it before the cap you put in so the woofer has its own hpf and the tweeter has its own hpf. Both receiving the stock signal.

No. At 0:37 and at 1:11 you can king of see there's a capacitor for the tweeter already soldered onto the positive terminal from the factory. If you need to add another bass cap for the woofer, that's fine, but both caps should be getting the raw speaker signal. So unsolder the factory cap from the terminal. Then, add the woofer cap to that terminal. Finally, split the signal speaker wire (positive), one goes to the woofer cap, and the other goes to the tweeter cap. Does that make sense.
