How to install a Eco Battery 105 in a club car precedent

Great video! I'm definitely using it when I install my new Eco Battery next week. Quick question I'm having trouble finding an answer to...I have a light kit on my 2012 Precedent and notice you didn't do anything with the existing light kit connection on the Eco Battery reducer. Is there an existing 48v to 12v reducer already on the cart that the light kit is continuing to use? I'm assuming this is how I need to tackle the install on my battery and not be concerned about frying my light kit? Thanks!

Caution, the standard Curtis 1510 controllers do not like lithium batteries according to Eco. Thanks to James' video, the conversion was as simple as he makes it look. Unfortunately the battery would shut down after 50' or so. Error message on Eco gauge showed "Discharge overcurrent". Gauge is awesome, works great. Eco to their credit sent a tablet overnight and I hooked it up to 1 of the 2 CAN plugs and my wifi. Eco tech was able to operate tablet remotely and downloaded the history which showed huge discharge currents of several hundred amps. They sent me an RMA and paid to have it returned. They warned me that the Curtis controllers were a problem but I had no need of higher speeds and did not want to upgrade. My local Club Car guy connected to the Curtis which showed a max of 125 amps before a shutdown. After the second return I reluctantly upgraded to the Navitas 440 amp, left stock motor, and every thing is fine $600 and 2 months later. Apparently 30% of the Curtis Controllers have to be replaced after Eco conversions so budget the extra cost when considering the lithium upgrade.

Great video - thank you! What do you need to plug into the new charger port installed. The charger description on the ECO website suggests that you need something else and you cannot plug an extension cable straight into it.

Great question! I’ll have to go review the video myself lol, but any electrical accessories , you would definitely plug up to the black and red wire from the Eco battery voltage reducer (13.5v out). And those are the thick wires without the ring terminals. The yellow and black wire with the ring terminals go to your Eco battery , the black and red wire which is thicker, with no ring terminals go to any accessories. I’ve ran LED undercarriage lights, headlights, horn turn signal, and a Bluetooth radio without any problems at all! Not sure if you decide to put a 200 W amplifier, you might want to add an additional heavy duty voltage reducer Hope this helps, if you need an awesome Eco Battery dealer to sell you your bundle kit, give me a call! 803-530-5813 👍

I have a 2008 club car precedent that I use for golfing 3 times a week, which ecobattery conversion do I need and how much ?

Interested in same replacement on my 2008 Precedent but my friend's Eco gauge failed quickly and stilll does not work. Has Eco come up with a fix for the gauge yet? If so, price for kit including shipping?
