all good guys thanks to everyone who responded. I basically ended up following the book and spoke to the local quarry who supply the commune. SPANC have passed it all off so great job

what type of gravel did you use please. I have a trciel microstation as advised by SPANC due to our lakes. However, they cannot tell me exactly what gravel to set the tank and pipes on. The inpsector simply said a sand / fine gravel and even unwashed . Kindest and great video

I used pea gravel, basically under 10mm pieces, however we did exactly what it told us in the manufactures documents so I would start there. Good luck 👍

Hehe they are not dead, just brown from the winter I’ll be doing another video of the gîte when it’s finished and you’ll see them all green again 😊

Does the fosse act like a Klargester i.e produce clean water by bacterial action ?

Yes I believe it’s like a Klargester. As it works on bacterial action as you say. You need to be careful what you put down the drains as not to kill the natural bacteria in the fosse. We also add a sachet of dried ‘good’ bacteria every week as well to help the fosse.
