Thanks! I am currently selecting all components on a pc building website, and they state that for larger GPUs you can get it delivered unmounted to avoid damage (for larger GPUs). Although mine doesn't fall in that category, it made me nervous to get it delivered installed. This video showed that I can definitely do it myself, and avoid potential problems due to delivery.

Hello sir just a question, im abit worried i just newly purchased same card rev2.xx and my question is that normal every time i powered on my pc from totally shutdown the gpu white light above the pcie power connector on the gpu lights up just one time not flashing just steady white light and it will off after the logo of motherboard shows up or when it boot

Yes, different graphics cards of different pin options. Just use the ones that are needed for your graphics card.

A blinking power light shows there is a power failure, the light should stay on if all is normal, Reseat the card in the pci slot on the motherboard and check to see it the power cable is fully inserted into the card, you should feel a 'click' when its full in.

I just went and double checked on my PC and the GPU light does not flicker on mine. It is either on or off.

Thank you! I'm thinking to buy Gigabyte RTX 3060 but doubting that the 3 fan will fit into the motherboard (due to some box blocking there like in your mobo), now I'm sure it will fit. One thing though, my current GTX 970 has 2x6 pin. This 3060 needs more power but only need 8 pin?

The 8 pin can carry enough power to the card because of how much power the card uses, with decrease in transistor size there is more power efficiency making new cards not need crazy amounts of power

So my VGA G3 cable from my old card goes into the 8 pin port but there's nothing for the smaller one with 6 pins is it ok to leave it without a cable or do I need to buy a cable for the smaller port too?

Just bought this GPU. My old GPU did not come with a PCIE cable (I believe it is a prebuild but I see no evidence of a PCIE cable). If I get an 8-pin GPU and 8 (6+2) PSU pin cable, will that work like yours in the video? If so, do you have a cable/place to buy one you'd recommend? It looked like I just need a cable where both ends are eight pins, but I just wanted to check. Totally new to this, so any answer is appreciated!

Typically the cable comes with the power supply and you want to make sure that it is heavy duty enough for that power supply. I would stop by a local computer store and see if they have any available.

@@to.jo1240 Glad everything worked out! It ended up being when I would start up anything more than Microsoft Word the GPU would crash. Connecting the PCIe cables from the power supplt as shown in the video supplied power to the Graphics Card instead of the Motherboard supplying power from its PCIe slot worked like a charm! Honestly the only thing I'm not sure about is if I should uninstall the driver's for my MSI RTX 2060 or if I can keep them and install the driver's necessary for the MSI RTX 3060 I'm getting. I'm fairly new to this kinda thing and understandably little intimidated by this 😂

@@munch3997 hi, found the solution, I reinstalled my old gpu and went into the BIOS and changed the input to use the PCIe. Since my old gpu did not require the PCIe cable

Did you plug your hdmi or displayport wire in the back of the graphics card? I pluged mine above it into the mother board slots and it didn't work until i switched them to the card

At 3:29 you quickly say "Just make sure they are in the correct direction" for the 2 + 6 pin connectors. How do I know what is the right direction?

If you look at both ends closely some of them are rounded and some of them are squared so they only go in one way. However, if you force it in the run direction, you could probably do some damage.

The power supply cables come with your power supply and not the CPU or GPU.

Hey man….. I have the same problem and I actually just received my PC with this graphics card today! I believe because this is a newer and smarter graphics card the fans will only spin when the GPU reaches a hot enough temperature 👍🏼I’m not sure though

They are attached to your power supply. If they're not attached, it may be a modular power supply that you can add more cables to.

Typically the back panel comes off so you can access the extra cables. Hopefully you're able to figure out how to access them.
