@@alexzemaitis You'll need a grounding rod, romex 3 or 4 wire, and a clamp to connect the wire to rod. You can hammer the grounding rod into the ground outside your bedroom and run the wire from it to your bed or whatever you want to ground
My wife and I have both found that we are sleeping better. Other health benefits are marginal and hard to identify and benefits. But that doesn't mean they aren't there

I've noticed that most people think of health as something you go _to_ after getting sick; something an unwell person achieves. A very American/Western mentality. grounding / earthing brought me here. As a former electrician I cringe. Make the grounding Rod 8 feet deep just look it up. Also look up how to properly make connections. Also look up copper Vs stainless steel…… thought copper does have a better conductive property and what not stainless steel works better BECAUSE it does not corrode / rust / go bad in the elements especially in the soil 😂 but you live and learn. I work with copper every day, have for years. Guess what? It doesn’t rust or corrode. It’ll tarnish, maybe go green but it’ll never rust. Why do we use copper for drinking water pipes?
I used a 3ft grounding Rod which I hope is ok. I just woke up from a refreshing sleep that I assume the grounding had something to do with it. I ordered a multimeter to to make sure I am grounded.

We have electromagnetic fields all around the house, and the voltage will warry just moving a 1 meter away due to the magneticfields strenght differs from one spot to the next. You have a pretty good reading compared to mine inside my bedroom, because when I lay down in my bed it's 3 volts, where you only had 0.8 at the most. It seems you have pretty low magneticfields running lose in your bedroom which is a good thing. I also have 230 volt system which tend to give higher readings which equals worse. All in all you proved it works and earthing is a very inexpensive way to protect oneself and family from harmful dirty electricity and other stuff like wifi, 4G, 5G etc.

I like the wire across the bed.. im using aluminum tape i just put across the top of the fitted sheet.. direct skin contact.. i just got copper tape to replace.. i might try the wire on top of the sheet next Thanx!
Copper is an essential element that we need for our health. Our pipes used to be made of copper. People are buying copper water bottles to get more copper in their system. Toxicity is an issue when ingesting. Copper on the skin wouldn't really apply. I guess you could do some tests to see if you're deficient
Question: Would it work and be safe to just put a copper rod into the ground outside my window with a 2.2 kg copper wire wrapped around it, with the other end of copper wire fed into my window and wrapped around my foot...... Would that ground my body? Would this be safe? I have sandals with copper through the soles for earthing, so I just figured this would be similar to that
What kind of sheet? I’m curious to know if the effect of a cotton sheet or linen would work better vs polyester/acrylic/synthetic types that are so common. Plastics definitely slow down voltage frequencies.
To solder that wire to the rod requires high heat which the torch is and Flux or soldering paste to keep the copper from oxidizing and allow the solder to flow. Also heat the rod more than the wire at first.

So ostensibly you could just ground your bed using the neutral grounding socket in a regular outlet and not have to run a grounding wire from a grounding pole?
Sounds reasonable however all your equipment phone system, cable TV etc also flows through. In some cases people feel worse or not good sleep do to all the other devices flowing via same line and could be flowing into you versus out of you... Earth ground is legit. Don't take shortcuts ❤

Absolutely and save a bunch for the rod, wire, solder and labor. That's exactly how the commercially available ones are. Just a regular plug connected to the ground center pin.🔌🔌🔌
I love the idea of grounding. I walk on the grass all the time. I live in Florida, we are lightning capital of the world and the thought of having a copper wire that goes directly to my bed gives me the willies. My girlfriend had a tree get hit outside her house blew out everything electrical in our house. can you imagine being on your bed when that happens?

Louisianian here and I’m worried about the same thing. Maybe instead of wiring the bed we can wear it on our wrist when it’s good weather. A little constraining but safer.
I would assume that the wire can be wired into it's own circuit breaker or high voltage fuse. Or, connect multiple wires to the rod, spiraling out in a star pattern thereby dispersing the lightning electricity in other directions. It's just a theory, so I don't know if it would actually work, but that's those are the two methods I plan to implement.

We cut out the surface we want, approximately 12'' x 24'', and we can install it in the bed, under the thighs, and under the feet (on a mat) We connect all of this to the common thread up to the zinc-plated steel rod, and covered with a thin layer of paraffin to limit corrosion, also with a layer of petroleum jelly against corrosion before planting the steel rod which looks like a very long screw. If the rod measures 1 meter, cut it into two 50cm rods. Stick the rod 30cm into the ground, and that will be enough. You must use the multimeter (volt-meter) often to ensure that the electrical charge is good enough. If we never check, the steel rod will rust, and the conductivity will gradually decrease. If the rod is rusty, the voltage will be low, and it will need to be replaced. A satisfactory charge is in the 420-580 millivolt range. Curiously, when i take a copper rod or inox, i have a negative voltage ! - 500 millivolts... I prefer to use the metals who provide a positive voltage, as zinc plated steel rod, magnesium or other. On the multimeter, place the black probe on the steel rod or at the end of the conductor wire, on the pin mat, and the red probe on an electric heater or a metal pipe in the house, or directly in the ground ' from the electrical outlet. You will see the voltage that actually arrives under your feet in the house! I'm going to make a little video on all of this soon. Even if the video is in French, you will still see the different components of the installation which is very simple.
The last fucking place you want to be is between anything and your home's ground. God fucking forbid someone without a proper home ground follows this advice they run the risk of carrying a circuit's load through them.
The copper solder connections didn’t work out as great due to lack of cleaning the copper by scratching it with a abrasive pad and use of soldering flux, high heat on the torch isn’t necessary, just a pro tip.
By putting a torch to the copper wind you actually weakened the continuity of the electric to pass through it. Once a metal is burnt it’s no longer feasible of the amount of current to pass through.
@@NarcisAlin1 You run the risk of exposing yourself to improperly grounded electrical wire or dirty electricity when using an outlet. It's ideal to run a dedicated ground rod and wire it up yourself. Just make sure its far enough away from any electrical sources or water.
You totally can its super easy it’s a special plug that is only hooked up to the ground you can check it with one of those meter detectors It’s so much easier cheaper using less wires all over the place

I'm disabled and not able to get on a ladder and needing to be sneaky as I live on an apartment How would o know it's a safe place to drive a group rod? Not hitting something electrical, gas, or structural? Was thinking of putt it under a bush. How would I do this with the grounded part of my outlets? I bought a product that plugged straight into the grounded part but I didn't understand how that was actually doing anything because the wire was so thin and then it connected to a fake lather wrist band no metal exposed on skin. Wanting to make my own because my research showed those wires were too thin to help. But i have q brain injury and don't understand half of what I'm researching. Wanted to do on rod on each side of apartment anf have one coming into the living room going to the couch and the recliner and If possible, the rod on the front of the apartment would come in on two different windows to go to two different beds. Or preferably just making 3-4 of my own outlet version to go to the two beds and couch and recliner so me and my kiddo are at least grounded while sleeping and sitting!

Can't you use a home outlet and an extension cord by removing the neutral and hot prongs, leaving the ground prong and then use the exposed ground wire on the other end to attach to the bed?

You should've used a grounding clamp on the rod. Still, great job. Did the rod have to be 8 feet? On the earthing movie, he just stuck a rod in the ground that looked to ge about a foot or so. Im very curious on what is acceptable 🤔
Housing codes in the US require that the rod be eight feet long. I believe this is due to the differences in conductivity between dry and wet earth, with the earth eight feet down being nearly always wet and, therefore, conductive.

For lowest cost testing of grounding overnight, I kept it super simple: I bought the cheapest wire, ran it through my window, stripped the end, stuck it into the dirt a meter from my window, held it down with a rock. At the other bed end, I again stripped the wire and taped it to the sole of my left foot using microfiber tape. Even that level of grounding has been enough to convince me it's working. I have a grounding rod on the way to make things a little more permanent, but it's only a foot or so in length - more than enough. Eventually I'd like separate grounding wiring in my house (to avoid interference from appliances and such) with dedicated outlets in each room (i.e. the outlet only has a clean path to ground, not power).
you could have installed a grounding clamp,its easily available at a big box hardware store,and it just screws onto the grounding rod,someone at the store should have told you.
I only remember one thing, it is that the electrical charge of the ground is only on the surface, and it is the beneficial charge that the body needs to be connected. The electrical 'ground' of the house or other, is deeper, and there is no voltage at this depth of the ground. This is why I pass a conductive wire through the window to get outside this natural electrical charge present on the surface of the ground. In the house, my feet are on a grid spindle trellis with 540 millivolts, and it's as if I had my feet in the grass all year round!!! You have to see it first on the multimeter. The voltage can vary depending on the steel rod used, or even where I attach my steel rod into the ground. No need to push it deep, only 30 cm maximum. Deeper, the voltage drops because I'm going too deep.
I Wonder If you use more or thicker copper mesh on the bed if that would help out more, stand up to a lot of human movement on it? I’ve known people to connect to the metal springs on the bed to draw the bad electrical frequencies away from us. I wonder if you can do both what the experience would be like on the body? You would need to ground to an electrical outlet in your apartment, by only using the ground on the outlet. I believe any grounding source would need to eventually connect you to the actual earth.

I thought the whole idea of grounding is to keep the electricity from you. We have a grounding pad on our bed and I would not be without it!! And, yes, it was expensive but worth the money!!
Depends on power of lightning strike.lighting struck a tree followed a path to a barracks and killed everyone in barracks in that case it wouldn't matter any way
voltage = i * r... the voltage is higher because the resistance is higher. this is due to the fact that your ground isn't as short as the house wiring and the length is longer. You could use the ohm's function between the ground of the outlet and your romex. It's probably a low resistance so no big deal. even a few hundred ohms is ok but you're probable going to be under 10 ohms. The only problem is that your mattress cover and sheets are going to insulate you from the ground contact. there are conductive mats and sheets available.

I'm actually thinking about adding a breaker in the line just as a safty perception because of lightning hittingtheground outside. Hello! Yes, I have noticed marginal improvements in my sleep and my wife's sleep. This was especially evident the first week of deployment. Since then I am not sure if I have grown accustom to it or if any placebo has worn off. Either way we are sleeping good and I have found that when sleeping in an ungrounded bed, the quality of sleep is not nearly matched. I do thinking adding a breaker of fuse is an excellent idea. I had that thought shortly have completing my install. The grounding rod SHOULD discharge any surge into the ground before allowing it to enter the bed, but who knows with a lightning strike. @@thepitpatrol yes, a lightning strike will simply blow the fuse and still make continuity across the contacts. You need what’s called an “ark suppressor” but even then the amount of amperage in a lightning strike no amount of protection will prove ideal.

Place the red probe in the 'ground' of the electrical outlet, and touch the conductive wire with the black probe. There, at home, I measure 540 millivolts. This is what comes from the outside, and what the body needs.

What's the difference between this method and the others i've seen on youtube where they bore a wider hole on the ground and fill it with salt, charcoal and sand alternately to the top? And they use only a GI pipe.
that should be bonded to your house ground system as well. if a hot wire came into contact with that seperate ground system it would not clear a fualt. (trip the breaker)

Before you put that wire on you should have sand down that Rod you had in the ground and then when you wrap the wire you should have saved it that too which gives the solder something to grip on
This video is from the US, right? You guys have grounding in your houses already. I'm not familiar with US building an electrical code. But it should be very easy to pick the grounding from one of your existing sockets. In fact most grounding products come with a set of cables and a special plastic plug to pick ONLY grounding from a socket. AND you want to have your bed clothing made from fabric with silver threading woven in it. It's not that expensive. Simple pieces of stainless steel sheet to make a foot or arms rest for you desktop where you spend hrs in front a screen are easy for DIY , bed clothing not so much.

Hi I try to plug my own ground rod (using iron rod polish with cooper 9feet) - and connect the rod using regular cable that have cooper wire (1mm). when I try to measure the voltmeter and I touch the rod its give higher volt instead of zero volt. If this is the case, you ground rod must have touch a cable or something thats electrified, use a voltmeter and check.remove the ground rod or buy a new one and put it in a place with earth/soil not hittinf any rock below it.also if its goods you will feel less pain and lower temperature within a minute.you dont need to hammer the rod too deep or even solder it to the rod.i just tied it .anytime i touch something charged like a AC/DC convertor i will feel immediate pain in my finger
Your body only has ground potential that means there is large resistance between you and whatever it is you're measuring you could never have continuity with ground, your body is made up of water which is not a good conductor
Translation: Does the pipe that serves as a 'ground' need to be planted deeply? People walking on the ground connect with surface current. I planted a steel rod about 18 inches deep. A simple electrical wire goes from there into the house through the window, and I connect different things with this conductive wire which is my new 'ground'. I measure the voltage between this wire which comes from outside, and the 'ground' of an ordinary electrical outlet. I get a measured voltage of about 500 millivolts, or 0.5 Volts. I therefore see that the ground of the electrical outlet is of opposite polarity to the ground from the outside!!! Those who plug special mats in there will never have the desired effects if the polarity is opposite to that outside! I got a roll of squared pin at the hardware store, and I cut myself a rectangle measuring 15 x 36 inches, with black electrical tape all around to avoid poking myself with the pin. I plug in this pin rectangle, and I put it on the mat at my computer desk. You can barely fit your little finger into this spindle grid. Another pin rectangle of the same size that I put on my bed, not all night, but for a nap only. The pin keeps the shape of the back, from the head to the buttocks. It's cold at first, but it's brief. It warms up quickly. Plugging this pin into my bed ensures complete and uniform distribution of the ground's electrical charge over the entire covered body surface. For your installation, the way you arranged the metal wire on the mattress, I have the impression that the result is not optimal, in addition to having a sheet that covers the metal wire, the contact is not is not done very well. To have the 'ground' all night, I have another option. Does the ground rod need to be 8ft? I also tested from the outlet to ground wire and got 124 volts. Also tip attach ground wire to alligator clip and buy farraday fabric under the sheets, works like a charm. I also used 14 guage wire from my ground rod 😂.

I bought metal tape 14 gauge copper wire and a big metal spike with holes in it to just wrap the wire in through and around and if I die my little dog will go with me but I’m sure as hell going to try it

Yes, but connecting the actual earth is best since the electrical grid (outlets) have a lot of EMF noise, but if that's your only option, then that's better then no grounding at all. :)
Why does that rod have to be so long that's gone into the ground? I have only a short rod which came with a commercial grounding sheet. The rod is not copper either. I don't sleep particularly well with so want to try with soft copper flashing on the bed. My bed close to window which is good. 🙂

I put a 6 foot rod into the ground, ran the wire to a yoga Mat I covered in aluminum and 100% pure copper tape. Which I have been sleeping in for 5 days now. When I use the red tester from my multimeter to the wire coming in from outside attached to the ground, I get a fluctuation of AC volts, it ranges. where I connected the main connection to the yoga mat, it reads 0.900 to 1.900. When I lay or place a hand on the mat, it Drops to almost zero. Many videos I've have watched saying there should be no voltage coming from the ground rod or wire attached . I have voltage, and many other videos I watched have the same. Can you give an update if your lead wire has any voltage from your grounding rod?? . Thank you for the video
Hello, thanks for the comment. Are you saying that when you connect one lead to the ground and the other to the matt? The two leads will measure a difference in voltage. The lead connected to the ground should function as a sink for any charge on the other lead. I suspect there is some charge floating around on the non grounded lead that will be discharged to the ground and will be measured in some fluctuating nature by meter.
@@simplydwell I will try it again. I placed the black lead is placed in the ground Hole to a wall outlet, I also placed it to a piece of metal. The red lead is placed on the mat or on the wire coming in the house from the grounding rod, I am getting readings from 0.800 to 3.00 vaults. I notice pending on the time of day, I will get higher or lower readings. I KNOW that this should not be. I can not understand why. I will make a video shortly and post link.

If you want to determine if the grounding rod is working, you can compare the voltage reads when the leads are connected between the yourself and grounding rod and then between yourself and the grounding rod while sitting on the grounding mat.
@@j.w.726 I was sleeping on it for 6 to 7 hours. I did sleep through the night, but when I got up, it wasnt good. Just didn't feel right. I started to use it 5 to 10 min here and there, or when I have back or leg pain. Honsetly, it HELPS, 100% HELPS
Always connect the first DMM test lead probe to ground or to the neutral connection then connect the other test lead probe to the hot. If you connect the first DMM test lead probe to the hot connection 16:17 first the other lead becomes hot through the DMM and you could get a shock if you touch the probe tip. I would never sleep in a grounded bed unless it was in a hospital using a medical grade receptacle.
I live in a seconed story apartment. I made a home made canopy around my bed and idk if i should ground it outside theiugh the window or make a DIY outlet plug. Can you tell me exaclty step by step a list of what materials to get at home depot and how to install the ground or outlet and the safest way to go about doing it and where to put it so i dont get shocked? @@JamesR23 I keep hearing people say the opposite about both, some people say the outlet works better if your place is grounded properly and some people say it doesn't matter either way so idk what do. Why do you say that?
Include in your system a stronger resistor and a quick disconnect for when you hear lightning, thunder or 🌧 raining... near your bed at arms reach.... Redundancy, Redundancy for your redundancy..Redundancy...
I respect and agree with what you're trying to do but the technique is not Let me explain I am a licensed FCC general radio operated license with electronics degree I have worked and the RF field and the electrical field with a utility company That being said, I do believe in grounding our bodies and our energies and having a source for them to go But under extreme conditions as in lightning If lightning hits the power structure system around your home, it will run the grounds into your home And will lift the ground The term is called ground lift And it is possible for your bed to become slightly energized under a lightning storm If that storm is near your home Just keep this in mind Okay, now back to what you're doing. I agree with what you're trying to do, but there's things outside your perspective at this point and most people that are commenting on this would not even comprehend this But I have been down that road Be careful my friend. A midnight call with your hair standing up off your neck will not be good And even if you come back and say that you used a separate ground rod, then you become the potential between the ground differences between the house ground and your bed ground checking those with just a voltmeter on DC resistance or AC voltage will not suffice Because under a stressful load as in a lightning strike all bets are off
