I remember the old days when you could stand in the engine back to work on the engine! 😁 Now there's so much stuff that if you drop a tool it only has a 5% chance of hitting the floor. I opened the hood and couldn't even see a battery! Thanks for the excellent videos.👏

Thanks for this video, man. I bought a new battery today, opened the hood, and went “WHAT THE?!” No way I could have done this by myself (yeah, yeah, I’m not a mechanical guy, ha!).

@@559powerscape whomever designed this whole “battery area” in this Chevy needs a swift kick in the ass. I’m sure they did this on purpose so they can charge you for a new battery and $100 for “parts and labor”…

Thanks for both videos. It took me longer to find the tools than to remove and install the battery. Only issue is that the AutoStop doesn't work anymore. {Not that I mind} Does it take a while to reset itself?

Lol yeah it be like that sometimes. No it should work right away. Maybe the battery in the trunk is bad as well. That one of the auto stop feature. If it doesn't work by the next few days it might be bad. You can remove it and take ot to where you purchased the new one for testing. They will let you know if it's still good or needs to be replaced

Thanks for the video Sr... Did you use a memory saver before remove the old/damaged battery? Or Is it not necessary?

No the Battery was damaged and had to be replaced. All I did was swap it out and didn't have any problems. Hope this works out for you buddy! Thank you for your support!

My 2017 Malibu battery just failed. At noon it was fine at 4pm it was dead. This car in the video was also already needing a battery ? Original GM batteries were always good for over 5 years of life. What is going on?

It's just batteries. Just like cars. Some cars off the lot are perfect and some come defective with problems. It was probably just a defective battery from the beginning. Yes this Battery was bad too and had to be replaced. Dealerships cut corners now and putting cheaper parts in their vehicles causing them to have more "common" problems. Causing the consumer to spend more of their hard earn money. Money schemes!

First off, Thanks for the video George... you've saved me some aggravation in identifying all those annoying, battery cover/trim-piece lock locations. To trekOCLVone: my 2017 Malibu battery just choked too (3.5 years old).... worked fine up until Friday; deader than a door nail on Monday (internal shorted cell, only putting out 8.8volts). This is my first experience with owning an absorbent glass mat (AGM) battery - what I see for replacement batteries cost at least twice the price of conventional batteries with only 3 year warranties.... I guess I'll find out in 2023 if I my battery was an OEM lemon or if I need to start a "3 year battery" replacement fund....
