Yesterday, 3/4/2024, I went to my local hardware store and just so happened to buy the exact same model as you show in this video. Before installing the faucet, I thought I would see if there were any RU-vid videos out there that might show some helpful tips on installing one of these. Your video came up. The best tip was about the tool that you used to tighten down the plastic washers under the sink. I didn't have one of those and I didn't feel like driving back to the store to buy one. If they did have one. So, I found an old piece of plastic plumbing pipe that I had laying around that just so happened to be the right size I needed. I cut 4 notches in it with my rotary tool and basically made the same tool that you showed in the video and saved myself a trip back to the store. I never would have thought of doing that if I hadn't seen your video. Thank You for posting it.

Thank you so much for this video. I bought the same Delta Faucet at Home Depot back in June 2022 but didn't have the nerve to install it. Well, your video was my guardian angel and the only problem was uninstalling the old delta faucet. That took me over three hours. But installing the "new" faucet was not that hard following your instructions. It was quite quick. Thank you again!👍

Bought a Delta Marca Faucet yesterday, it seemed easy enough to install, but I could not for the life of me get the nut off of the sink because it has rusted and metal was falling off. I got scared of tackling it myself until I saw your video . I got the WD-40 and sprayed and then sprayed again, not I'm on a roll. Just hope I can get the new nuts and wires tighten and aligned correctly. Plumber wanted to charge me $250. and the faucet itself cost near $200......... THANK YOU!

Hey there, Recently, I installed the same faucet, But I can see a few drops leaking(upon use) from the Hot side (left) under the sink tank where you tighten the plastic mounting nut. What could be the reason ? - Is it dripping from the inside of the assembly ? I can't figure it out... Any suggestions will help me. Thank you.

Great video but wondering if I missed ... did you use plumber Putty for the sprayer? I recently put it in a RO system and was going to put it where the sprayer is and all the plumber putty must have been old as our house is only 8 years old. So needed a video to make sure I put Humpty Dumpty back together again correctly LOL. Thank you!

great video! Thanks very much. I need to swap out an ancient faucet that is plumbed with those cruddy valves you mentioned, and they're threaded onto iron pipe. Ugh. I was surprised there wasn't a gasket for the sprayer base. Perhaps a little bead of silicone under that cover piece would be a good idea to prevent water from dripping through from the sink deck?

Very thorough and understandable instructions! Awesome tutorial. Two suggestions: (1) I thought that after hand tightening the compression nut on the supply line, you're supposed to use a wrench to tighten another another quarter turn or so. Obviously, your lines didn't leak. So hand tightening sufficient for your install. (2) Personally, I wouldn't feel safe/comfortable using a recip saw to cut out a frozen nut at the top. A dremel tool with a small cutting wheel may be easier and safer in the tight space directly underneath the faucet. One question...why do you prefer the Rigid multi-tool over the more standard basin wrench? I've never seen that Rigid tool, but it looks very cool. Thanks for a great video!
@ccbowers
@ccbowers 2 года назад
Basin wrench is needed for older stuck and/or corroded nuts, but doesn't really work as well for large modern plastic nuts with wings. These faucet tools are pretty useful if doing multiple faucets. They don't really replace a basin wrench completely, and aren't essential but are more convenient for the situations they can be used

The Delta Faucet I obtained had black rubber as shown in this video however the instruction guide and pieces that came with it stated to remove the rubber and install the plastic that came with the Delta Faucet. The problem I could not get the plastic one to screw on and utilized the rubber as shown in this video as of right now no leaks. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I like the walk through of every step , that way if you have a problem or question it is more or less answer. Note i know they make a speical swivel head wrench you probally only use it for take off the nuts to the faucet , but it worth it . I think they cost $15 to $25.

At 4:00 you say you can tell that it's the COLD line...well... HOW are you able to DETERMINE that ? You don't EXPLAIN HOW you have determined THAT. Did you determine that by "feeling" the vibration of the water coursing through the tubing ? Or are you actually saying that you were determining that due to TEMPERATURE ? At my house ( especially in Winter ) it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute for HOT water to come up to the kitchen. A person that doesn't KNOW that could easily mistake the hot water line for the cold water line IF you're making the determination by temperature. WOULN'T it be SMARTER from an instructional standpoint to say: Turn on the HOT water at the faucet and let it run until hot water comes out and THEN feel the tubing under the sink - the tubing that feels very warm or HOT will be the HOT water line ! At 6:10 wouldn't it be easier to use a BASIN WRENCH ? At the beginning of the video you show what tools a person would need to do the job. Showing a BASIN WRENCH and how to use it would probably help a lot of people out. At 6:34 you "go after" the Dispense hose with TWO WRENCHES - very awkward, very cumbersome in a confined area. Maybe...just MAYBE it would have been better to take the God Damned hose off first while the large nut was still holding the unit firmly in place ? 7:18 The green crap is a LIME Deposit. There's a product out there called " CLR" ( Calcium, Lime, Rust ) It dissolves Calcium, Lime AND Rust deposits rather nicely. 7:53 Once again... a BASIN wrench would be a better idea here... OH... and taking your watch off would 1: protect it from damage and 2: give your arm more room and flexibility. 15:58 It IS a better idea to cut the hot and cold supply lines to a shorter working length because ( as seen later on in this video ) the super long supply lines ARE going to interfere with and "hang up" the spray nozzle supply line. The white plastic Ferrules that come with the kit ( if used after cutting the supply lines to a near exact fit ) go on the supply lines after you slide the chrome nuts on the supply lines AND the white plastic ferrules MUST be positioned with the BEVELED EDGE facing DOWN towards the stop valve. Make sure that the plastic supply line(s) are inserted INTO the stop valve about a quarter of an inch - they have a tendency to slide back and out. Hold each in place while you tighten the chrome nut(s) so that when the supply line(s) are firmly tightened the white plastic ferrule(s) will be clamping down on the tubing. This is THE VERY reason that if you are cutting the supply lines for a custom fit you MUST NOT cut them too SHORT. Remember: you can ALWAYS cut more off... you can't put it back on if you cut too much off. 16:58 The sprayer hose is DEFINITELY going to GRAB the cold water line when the sprayer nozzle ( topside ) is pulled out for use. 17:06 BEFORE turning on the water under the sink - Remove the AERATOR from the outlet of the faucet with the SPECIAL PLASTIC TOOL that Delta includes with the faucet kit so that WHEN you DO turn on the water, any residual rust, sand, silt or debris in either water line won't clog up the faucet AERATOR. The AERATOR is at the very end outlet of the faucet that has the tiny screen in it that causes the water to AERATE and come out of the faucet in a steady, bubbly stream. ALSO before turning on the water at the stop valves under the sink, make sure that the faucet is shut off up top.

Good video, but with that said, when I went underneath my sink, it is a mess of pipes. I don't see a shut off for hot and a shut off for cold but one shut off that goes towards the sink and another one that looks like it goes to the dishwasher. Any thoughts on that?

The one to the dishwasher would be hot. Is there a TEE after the valve so that closing it would turn off water to both the faucet and the DW? Sometimes those valves have two outlets.

Hey Larry, yeah the trim, handle direction, and reach/extension of the spout into the sink can vary a bit but the mounting hole placement is a standard size for kitchen faucets. If you are doing a bathroom vanity sink be a little more careful since there are 4 inch and 8 inch spacing for the mounting holes. Best of luck with your project. 👍

With that said this can take you down a rabbit hole of troubleshooting. The best course of action for you to get back up and running would probably be to do the same install for a 2nd time. I am fairly confident either the big box store, Amazon, or Delta will help swap the old faucet out for a new one considering the failure happened within a few months and should be covered under the limited warranty. Feel free to also jump over to our Facebook group “Everyday Home Repairs Community” where you could post pics / videos of your specific issue and we could help work through the fix.

Good instructions. Old faucet was attached with plastic or nylon screws. I can't get the one near the hot water side undone. Taking a break. Thanks for giving calming encouragement, I need it.

@@marynellcash6753 😂 yeah removing old faucets can be super frustrating. I have gotten worked up in the past but that pretty much just always leads to more damage and work.

How tight does the supply lines to the shut off valve need to be?
@EverydayHomeRepairs
@EverydayHomeRepairs 3 года назад
Make sure the line is coming into the shutoff valve straight (if you don't you might things are tight but they aren't) then tighten down holding on to the shutoff valve with another set of channel locks or wrench. You will want to apply a reasonable amount of torque but nothing crazy.

Thanks for your video and tips! It took me about two hours to loosen the old faucet mounting nut and the vinegar helped. I still had to go buy a faucet wrench which also helped 🥴.

@@EverydayHomeRepairs I changed the faucet today. Without this Rigid Sink and faucet tool, it took me 30 minutes to removed the old one. The old one was rusted!!! That tool is for the next time if I needed. Thanks.

Do you need to put a sealer around the base of the handle or is the screen down air tight enough?

Scott something strange happened after I connected the same Delta faucet model to my kitchen sink. I connected it and it was working fine. I used the sprayer once and shut off the water after and when I returned later and turned on the water the water pressure was flowing with half the force it was before. Any idea what it could be? I live in a mid-rise condo and the hot/cold and main shut off valve are under the sink. Could it be that the sprayer isn't seated properly?
@EverydayHomeRepairs
@EverydayHomeRepairs 4 года назад
Hey Juan, and that was the water pressure coming from the main faucet or the sprayer was about half the pressure?
@juanrosa683
@juanrosa683 4 года назад
The water pressure from the faucet is reduced to less than half flow but the water from the sprayer is at full force. The water pressure is reversed. I think the diverter is malfunctioning.

@@juanrosa683 Yeah the diverter would be my guess. Were you able to get a new diverter valve and try it out?

@@odyssey200as Juan stated it might be a bad diverter valve. I am seeing if he replies and was able to swap out the valve to see if it fixed his problem.

Thank you, sir. This video is incredibly helpful. Your patience is commendable, as well. I fought with the removal for about an hour and a half. By the end, it was "whatever works to get the old out!" including cutting the supply lines that were too difficult to remove at the threads and cranking the old faucet with a pipe wrench. (I felt like a contortionist under the sink. The whole process would be a lot easier, but for this part of the job!) But my pile of junk was similar to yours, perhaps a bit more messy.
