thank you so much for the comedy and the straight forward help. Im opening a coffee trailer and doing as many projects myself and im so happy i found someone with a good execution of an idea i had!
@@Bootstrappin yes!! Its been such a savior for me!!!! This is literally life changing for the speed and efficiency of my business! I used to stockpile gallons of water in my storage but now I can just refill the blue 5 gallon and waste less plastic!
Clever solution. Ive just always used a water crock on a stand, but this is nicer. Wish I had a basement or larger kitchen cabinets I'd give this a go. 👍
Ah, thank you! But I can't take credit for this one, previous owners had it remodeled like this. But it is very lovely, particularly the countertop material.
I've been using a water cooler that also has a heater functionality. I am about to remodel my kitchen and will have some extra cabinet space that I could use to store the water. I thought that I'd put some sort of dispenser in the side of an island or something, but I really like your idea of having a dispenser come up through the counter at the sink. I was planning to use all the parts from my water dispenser to keep the hot water function (we use it for tea every day). With my water dispenser, it uses a pump to fill tanks that are higher than the dispenser, so gravity dispenses the water. Thank you for sharing what you've done!
I'm jealous of your basement. Lol. West Texas homes dont come with them. If you're lucky they come with a storm cellar but its hit or miss. All my lines has to be done through the attic. I'm definitely gonna look into that pump and see what can be done for my home! Thanks again
@@ironicstatement ah that's a bummer! Yeah alternatively if you have the space, you could put it under your sink, and maybe put the jug on a sliding drawer to make the swap easy.
Can I just say that I am an INSTANT fan! You are fricking hilarious~ 🤣 But, you also really REALLY helped me! I have spent hours and hours watching dozens of videos trying to figure out how the heck I'm going to have a sink with flowing water in my campervan, and you helped me so SOOO very much - while making me laugh! I hope you post a lot because I'll be tuned in as a new subscriber! :)
Thank you for the kind words! I don't know much about campers (yet), but I assume unless you're planning on running this through an inverter, there's probably better options that run off of 12V or 24V (or whatever campers run on). I'll be posting a lot more shortly since I've sort of retired from a regular desk job -- to do things like this more often!
Omg! This was so informative and helpful! Exactly what I was looking for to set up a shower and a sink and a water drinking setup with 2 jugs. Thanks for making a great video. 🎉❤
@@BootstrappinI'm ordering parts today. Do you recommend a specific shower head? I am also looking to add a bidet eventually too. And I got this idea to link several water jugs together, for more water. I have a unique house setup. Lol Thanks for your reply! ❤️😊
@@Dashaina actually, I do - I just bought this one for our RV: amzn.to/3Kp8sVD I really like it because the on/off button is a gradient of pressure, so you can control precisely the amount of water it dispenses. And coincidentally, I have a video on bidet installs too lol: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fHHHnV5-5eo.html
@@Bootstrappin that's hilarious, because it's the same one I put in my cart BEFORE seeing this reply. Then I thought let me check if you responded. So now I feel extra happy about getting it! And I will definitely be checking out the bidet video... Once I get the toilet tank leaking situation sorted. Lol Will be doing a pile of new home Improvement videos myself soon it seems... Except yours are definitely more entertaining and educational. Lol Thanks again. 😊❤️
What's your 6 month review? Is it still going strong? I've been trying to find some way to "hide" the big 5 gallon jugs and this is a fabulous solution!
Thank you man. The one thing the descriptions on these never state is can they be activated by just turning the tap. I assume when you first turn it on the pump pressurises the system and then turns off until needed. I plan to hook it up to a small instant water heater for a mobile catering sink 😁
Ah yeah, good point, I was honestly wondering that myself before I bought it. Yes - I think it has a pressure sensing switch, so the moment you open your faucet, pressure drops, and this thing kicks on. It shuts off the moment you close your faucet. That's an interesting idea you got, I don't know how much GPM you need for your sink, because this is geared more towards filling up drinking cups, so if the intention is using it to wash dishes, then I'm not so sure it'll provide enough water.
@@Bootstrappin It's just to pass hygiene inspection. You need two sinks and hot water. So volume isn't a massive issue but yeah good point if I had to do some washing up it might be a long haul :p This woman seems to have the very setup I was thinking. Can't see what pump she has. Maybe I'll check the flowjet one Vs the vevor one. Cheers. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-x2dofOb5UIo.html
Hello! 😀 We are considering using this dispenser in our coffee/tea corner next to the fridge. We'd like to avoid the giant water dispensers that do not use pumps. How is the pump's daily power usage? is it worth it, the cost and energy consumption compared to typical hot/cold dispensers? Thank you!
The Vevor pump in my link says it uses 35 watts, and that's only when you open the faucet, so power usage is practically negligible. The hot/cold types use about 80 watts to refrigerate, and 550 watts to heat water. I don't think it makes one "worth" over the other so to speak, it really just depends on your needs, but cost wise the pump is certainly cheaper.
I saw a lot of reviews on these pumps that say theyre not compatible with glass jugs because the neck on them is smaller and the float switch on the pump is too big. Do you know if you can remove the float switch and it will still work? Or any other workaround or pump that could be a solution? Thanks
All good questions, and I can't really comment too much here. The float switch seemed well integrated, so probably not easy to remove. And without it, you'd probably run a high risk of dry running the pump and breaking it. Not sure what the solution for a glass jug would be here aside from a classic water dispenser.
Lovit and doin’ it. Great video style and presentation. We have a peculiar love of spring water too. Also fair play if that was your first attempt ever boring granite!
Good idea and good work. But I have some concerns. This type of pump works with a pressure switch, which means the pump makes pressure on the faucet, and when this pressure is released by the faucet, it starts pumping water. The connection between the faucet and the silicone tube has to be very strong because the pressure can pull off the silicone tube from the faucet, and it will start pumping water all over the cabinet and then to the kitchen floor. In the video, this connector looks really loose. ..
I hear you, but these quick connect fittings are actually very strong. You can't pull the hose out of the fitting, it's one-way unless you press the collet in. Which you won't be able to do unless you remove the retaining ring. While back, I worked in a factory where we built laser machines, and we used this same style connector on high pressure air lines, and the only time I've seen them pop off is if the hose wasn't pressed in all the way or cut crooked.
Trying to come up with an off grid camp shower. No water in dead of cold winter. Water is carry in. Im thinking of using the pump and 5 gallon jugs to feed a small hot water tank. On the outlet side of tank maybe a more powerful pump that goes to a shower heard. I would need an on demand pump on shower side as well? Get a head with an on off dial. You think it would work?
I see what you're trying to do. Off the top of my head, that does seem like it'll work. One pump will ensure that your heater tank stays full, and the other can be on shower head duty. That second pump probably may as well be a 12V RV pump.
@@SajalPradhan maybe, but how would you get the water out? Turn the bottle upside down? Unless you had a watertight cap, I feel like this would leak. An interesting idea nonetheless if you can figure out how to plumb it.
Sorry about the late reply - I vaguely remember having to run diluted bleach through the thing as part of the instructions. It's possible that a side effect of that was priming the pump. In priming a pump, you generally want to try and get water inside the pump so it doesn't operate while dry. You could try pouring a bit of water inside the water supply line while lifting the line above the pump, such that gravity feeds water into the pump.
Some filtered water irritates the crap out of my throat and makes me cough. My throat swells some. What did they do to that water? It’s why I never drink it.
I wonder if that's to do with the pH/acidity of the water - spring water tends to have that "softened" taste, similar to the alkaline water you can sometimes find at a grocery. A good test to see if my theory holds any... water... is to add a pinch of baking soda to whichever filtered water irritates your throat. If it tastes smooth, and no irritation, it's probably too acidic. My wife had a very similar problem to what you described before we switched to spring water exclusively.
@@ampg1798 when it's open at full send, it can get pretty loud, it startled me at times while I was in the basement and my fiancee used it upstairs. However, being inside a cabinet would probably make it a good amount quieter. A few ideas to make it quieter - make sure it's mounted quite sturdily, maybe with some foam padding beneath it as to not transfer vibrations, and if you really want to make it quiet, enclose it in a small crate with a few vent holes for ventilation.
is there a way to make this work to a garden hose adapter sink type? I'm wanting to do something like this for a cleaning table but instead of running garden hoses across the yard I wanna make a pump like this.
So, when you close the faucet water, dose the pump automatically turns off? Or the pump will keep running forever as long as the power switch on the Pump is on?
good stuff, you have the ONLY legit video showcasing and also howto/install of this product on the internet. Over a year later is it still functioning well? Several reviews on amazon indicate questionable longevity but i also realize there are a lot of stupid dumbasses writing those amazon reviews who dont know what they are doing
You'll never want to go back, I didn't even know what it was like to drink water without irritating my throat... My next water project will be a whole house water softener!
Is there any faucet similar to this that doesn't require I drill into my fucking granite countertop? I'm looking for a reliable temporary water dispensing option to cope with a boil water notice. It is massively frustrating trying to find something that works that isn't a permanent installation but that also FUCKING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Well since you asked so fucking nicely! Honestly if you're looking for something temporary, you'll probably do best with keeping some 5 gallon water jugs plus this pump right here: amzn.to/3JtgX3c. That way you can just bust it out whenever you get that notice.
I do not understand. So, you installed a sping water tap ?! Where is the cold beer tap? No beer tap?! Unsubbed ! (just kidding, of course, very nice idea and nicely carried out) more powaaaah to you !
