Thanks for the run-down. I got a safari i'm gonna give a stab this weekend for project on my 150 petrol. Seems pretty straight-forward. Measure twice, drill/cut once.
Great new videos coming out here. Much more substance than other WA based channels. Plus your having a red hot go rather than dropping your car to a northern suburbs mechanic 👍
Nice clean job. The air-saw is definitely the way to go! Looks like the majority of guys in Australia use snorkels compared to the United States. I see a lot of really dusty roads that you and Ronny Dahl go on. Wondering if you like to use a pre-filter on top of the intake? Great videos by the way Alex!
Thanks Kevin. I'd love to use a pre-filter on top of the intake actually, but I never ever think about grabbing one until I can't see a meter in front of me and I go "hmmm...a snorkel sock would be a good idea here" 😄 I also notice that in the states, snorkels are promoted less for driving deep water, and more for the elevated air intake benefit. Just an interesting difference, as it's the opposite way of thinking for many down here.
pre cleaner over a an air ram??? i would like to have pre cleaner over an air ram but its a genuine Nissan snorkel like on your car air rams seem to damage filter cause of the hi speed of insects hitting it and the pre cleaner bowl type intake better when your tail end Charlie
Hey what Brand of snorkel is it? I was given one with my Prado 120 and I'm really unsure if I should put on or get a safari snorkel any help would be great lol.
It's a dobinsons one. No matter what the brand most snorkels fit up the same, the most important bit is making sure you have the right template for cutting and drilling
@@Alex.G I do have a template for it, tested and it fits but it was all crumbled up so i am flattening it out at the moment. I have seen one vid where a guy had to put silicon around the outside to seal were it sits on the mud guard, it didn't look good i thought and there was a fair space between the drivers side pillar and the snorkel spout, are they all the same ? and i also don't have a gasket thing like you had that goes against the mudguard and the snorkel. sorry for all the Questions Its really a big help.
