Spent all weekend trying to mount this seat. Still trying to screw in the bolt to the frame but I can't find a wrench that will fit under the fender to tighten it enough.
My question is how do these seats affect seat height in comparison to the stock seat? Generally, if one of these solo saddles were mounted rigidly, I imagine they might bring seat height down from the factory seat. What happens if you add 2 inch beehive springs? Are you still below factory seat height? How about the 3 inchers and 4 inchers? If you need a specific bike as an example, let's assume a Sportster Iron 883, or maybe a Sportster 48. Seat height is important to me with an inseam less than 30 inches.
Got this for the 2022 iron 883 , it doesn’t seem to fit , it’s slightly off , the bolt in the back doesn’t reach the plate , and doesn’t seem to reach the tank bolt with out struggling to pull it
What about the hinge part already on the bike? What video covers that? I'm thinking about getting a seat like this for my 2005 883XLH Low, if it will fit.
Forgive me, you probably didn't understand. My point was whether you can turn the springs on the bolts in such a way that they are not parallel to the fender, but slightly pushed to the outside
@Maciej xxx Slightly pushed to the outside is alright. The force effect will be better if installed in parallel, so it will usually be installed parallel to the fender.
