Good stuff, kind of worked it out on my own but the details and critical specs are most useful. I may leave the original valve in place and weld additional support plate for the second valve body. Noticed right away the center lug needed to be lowered. All in all an excellent how to vid. You may want to tell the viewership that when welding a safety blanket to cover the motor to keep sparks at bay. Thanks guys, made my upgrade job a lot easier. P.S. just split two bush cords of maple and have to say you guys build an awesome machine. Cheers.

Can this be installed on a Husky 35 ton splitter? There is an old man who only heats his house with a fire place and sometimes I can help with cutting & splitting. I am in my 70s and he is older than I am. I would like to help him out if this is possible. At this time I am trying to build a table on one side so that nobody (mostly me) doesn't get hurt with falling logs or split 1/2 logs falling off one side. Anyone in Wisconsin that does the installations?

Technically it is possible to afix the kit to any log splitter. We would have to get a few more measurements the ensue that the hinge and log lifter lug are in the correct position. And you would have to find a way to plumb the hydraulics on that splitter as well. It would likely require some fabrication, and unfortunately we do not have anyone that installs them. However I am sure that you can find a local welder that does miscellaneous jobs.

SHOULD THE ENTIRE UNIT BE HIGHER ABOVE THE GROUND. SEEMS LIKE OPERATOR WILL BE BENT OVER TOO MUCH WHENN USING IT.

Hello. This is an older machine. Machines that are sold today have a few different bed height options, up to an 8 inch lift.

Can I purchase just the pieces you welded onto the machine, I have a valve and cylinder and a stainless plate I can get shaped for the lift.

Have a look at this machine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ivaT3Hw4opw.html It has our highest lift option, with a bed height of 33".

I would not want to use that wood splitter! It sits way too low, not an ergonomic fit. A person's back would be a wreak even with a lift assist table. My brother has a similar splitter. I helped him one afternoon and as soon as I saw the splitter I thought, "my back is going to ach!"

Hi there, thank you for your comment. How tall are you? We do offer a couple lift options that change the height of the log splitter to fit your needs. For users in the 5'6" height range, the standard height is great, but if you're taller we have you covered. Splitting firewood is a strenuous task, thats why our splitters are designed with ergonomics in mind; getting the job done quicker with our 2-way split & hydraulic log lifter. Feel free to visit our website to see options that may work better for you. split-fire.com/

How come nobody puts the lift on the control side.

The axel is biased to the engine side of the machine which allows it to be stable when lifting large heavy rounds.

TO MANY VIEWERS JUST SEE THE PRETTY PAINT . LIFT SHOULD BE FLAT ON THE GROUND FOR LOG LOADING NOT TiLTED up. RECONSIDER LENGTH OF LOGS WHICH MOST OF YOUR CUSTOMERS WILL USING. PRESENT SET UP IS WAY TOO LONG FOR FIRE WOOD. i could go on but dont want to be consider a scrooge. my comments ARE MENT TO BE POSITIVE.

The lifter seems to work very well for us. Have a look at our channel for a video with some log lifter action. It has no issue lifting logs in any way. For the customers that we sell to, the 24 inch stroke works great! We still have 3 more extended stroke options, all the way up to 48"! Haha no worries!
