I don't know that I buy that. As long as you keep the filter clean it should be fine. It's more that, people who mod their car tend to drive them harder. That's what makes the engine last less time in my opinion

Thanks! I know very little about suspension for these so far. But I'm also not a coils kind of guy. I'd likely get some lowering springs and new struts and be done haha.

If you want full coilovers, go with something like fortune autos, handmade and really high quality, if expensive.

Yeah it's a real pain! But in my case the previous owner had never cleaned the throttle body so it worked out for the best. I should've just swapped a J37 manifold/throttle body while I was there though...

This kit only came with the oiled filter, which is blue. You can get kits with both filters, but this was a scratch and dent eBay special. Once it gets dirty I'll recharge it with red oil instead of the blue

I honestly don't think either will be significantly different in terms of power or efficiency. Especially on a relatively stock engine. The hot engine bay is going to heat up the intake tube considerably. I'd get whichever is cheaper between the two. But that's just me.

@@JessLehman when they have the guard that goes to the top of hood and separates the comapertment does that help at all? bc thats what they consider is a cold air...qnd short ram doesnt have the quard?? they seem all same ish to me. honestly im thinking wichever one is further away from engine towards bottom of bay is prob better thats where the air scoop is pushing qir too the bottom of where the stock used to be right? so im thinking the momentum that actually clips on to it prob would be a liiiiiiiitle bit better. and thats prob miniscule of a change tbh.

The momentum is probably better on paper, and in theory. But in the real world I don't know that it is worth the extra cost for probably 1hp or less. It would be interesting for someone with a dyno to test each, and then test them again with heat wrap around the intake tube. I'd bet the heat wrap makes a bigger difference

Now u making me wanna buy some heat wrap too now lmao. thanks for the replies btw it was a huge help. still deciding on wether i buy cat back +intake and hfpc or jpipe im not sure...from what im told the pre cats are freeing up alot more noise but the j pipe is more gains to whp alone. so idk i think ill do high flow...what would u do. or what do u have?

The only reason I did the intake first was because I got it soooooo damn cheap. Otherwise I would've done HFPC and J-pipe first. I think HFPC alone nets 12whp on a manual. Once my living situation is decided that's my next mod probably. I can weld, so I'll make my own exhaust because I'm not spending a grand on a 2.25" exhaust.

I'd say it gained a little power. But what makes this worth it is the sound.

You'll be sucking in hot air better a cold air intake or do what some people do remove lower resonator and add a velocity stack and filter

I don't reuse coolant hoses. Not worth a potential leak because you wanna be cheap. Best to just replace them
