Man I've been trying to get my Bluetooth working for a few weeks now. Thank you for this well instructed video. I was able to follow your instructions to now have my Bluetooth, and other functions unlocked.
Awesome video! For someone like myself who has never worked on wiring, this video was phenomenal as it showed the wiring process! All the other videos skipped it!
Got a 95 camry and my parking break light is always on. Yes, the parking break works for the light is on- it never goes off- unless you turn the car off! Well, I am wondering what trouble I will run into. Thanks, Karl PS: just ordered the bypass and will install it. Case Closed! Thank you for your posting and video- gave you a like!
Great video! It’s sad companies have to put these safety features on there products. I mean it’s common sense not to watch videos and play with your settings while driving down the road. The parking brake is to much so I’ll definitely wire one of these up!
I got an $8 switch from canadiantire and wired the parking brake wire to the switch and to the ground. You toogled the switch on off on and it works. The alpine wants a ground that turns of off and on is all.
I just did mine about 20 minutes ago I used a 2 poll switch and from the radio to the switch from the switch to a bolt. I turn the radio one hit the switch on the off then on again and it works. Just saying another way
Have the exact model, went and conect everything, run the wire to the parking brake and just wont work, the parking brake shows when is activated but the damn bluetooth just wont activate. I believe i followed all the steps exactly as indicated but it just wont work, help please
You can do the same thing by connecting the yellow/blue wire from the radio to the illumination wire Orange/white if memory serves me right and not have to buy the bypass at all. Then you would just turn your headlights on during the daytime and your bypassed. On my truck I just grounded this wire. I ordered the Alpine W650 radio and I’m going to tie the yellow/blue wire to the black ground wire and I believe that will also bypass it without paying $15 for an unnecessary part.. I’ll test it before I put the radio into the dash but I’m confident it will work Never access the settings or play videos while driving or anything else that would cause you to take your eyes off the road. This just simplifies the install. Question: Do you have any issues with Bluetooth phone calls whereas the person on the other end hears an echo
Brock glad to hear it. Just got mine ordered and should be ready to install this coming week. Seems like I find new features on it every time I look. Cheers
If you buy a kenwood this is a non issue & everything I'm reading about the ilx-w650 isn't making me feel very good about purchasing it that's for sure. I paid to have this head unit put in & they didn't say anything about "needing" the bypass but if you don't have it then it's basically just a AM/FM radio cuz it won't let me do shit else, parking brake engaged or not
One question.. would it be fine if I just stip the wires and do the good old Twist and electrical tape trick?? I don't have any fancy pinchers or twisters lying around lol.. My bypass is coming in the mail today. Looking forward to installing it
If you are using the same model of bypass that I did, then the colors are are the same. So as an example, you would just splice the black (Ground wire) to the ground wire from the stereo, and the yellow/blue wire to the yellow/blue wire on the stereo. If your stereo doesn't have one of the colors, it is likely because your stereo doesn't require it. then just don't use it.
@@edwinaguilera7218 I was just using the the toggle as a temporary solution while I was waiting for the bypass to arrive. I could have used it permanently, but I wanted it to be easier to use and cleaner looking.
@Brock I just finished installing this same unit and went with the toggle switch. It works but I’m thinking it will get old turning the switch on and off. Thanks for both videos.
Can this be done any other way? I keep a code reader in that OBDII port cuz my check engine light is always going off! It’s an old 2004.... I tried a bypass and that’s not working either 😔
If you have the same model stereo, I would recommend getting the bypass that I used. I have a link in the description, I've heard some other bypasses don't work.
I just installed this same head unit & bypass into my 2011 f150 & I CANNOT get the bypass the fucking work! I've taken the head unit out & put it back in 3 times now and it's sooo fuckin irritating and I don't even know what to do anymore
If you followed the instructions, it's possible that the bypass is faulty. I would recommend contacting the company you bought the bypass from. I have a link un the description for the bypass I used, you could try that one instead.
@@Juggalotus253 this is bypass #2 first I ordered "microbypass" from Amazon and I was told by tech support that I must have burnt it up by grounding out the footbreak wire. Then instead of reordering the same one I ordered "best bypass" & I'm inexperienced with car audio but I followed the instructions & it's still not working. I've taken my dash apart so many times at this point it's driving me insane
Biggest pain in the ass radio I’ve ever bought. Wired this shit up and yea it worked. Still tried returning it but sonic electronix customer service SUCKS. Forced to keep it, still not impressed with the unit.
