Rental property owner here. I've installed a few of these. The 90-degree drain piece that came with it is not standard. You have to use it to fit it in the disposal. Cut the other end to make it fit the rest of your drain.
My 3-family rental property had three of the InSinkerator Badger-9s installed by the plumber when it was built. The grinders jammed easily finally cracking and leaking as shown after only a few months of use. Replacement Badgers cracked in the same manner. I replaced the Badgers with the InSinkerator 2 stage Evolution grinders costing twice as much. So far, these have given good service and I have had no issues with them either cracking or jamming.
At first I thought maybe he knocked the dishwasher drain plug out but did not video it but when he held the disposal dishwasher drain at the light I could see the plug was still there. Either the dishwasher is simply not going to drain or it plows the drain hose off and he winds up with a flooded kitchen and basement when the dishwasher tries to drain. The instructions usually have an exclamation at that picture and or wording. Obviously he forgot or never read them in the first place. There were other issues with his installation I could write a book.
I have the same Costco garbage disposer on sale long time ago 65 bucks, I installed it, its a little noisy but it last, about 5 years now and still working good but noisy.
I found all the tools needed for this install on this other video. I'm too lazy to post all the links, so here's the video and the links are in the description. They're discounted below Amazon's prices so it's worth the click. It seems that most everything on the site it links to is discounted as well if you need other things. They have pretty much everything I looked for. I hope this helps your project. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Z6NUkp0DCgk.html
Looks like the plumbing job did not account for some play for whenever a new garbage disposal needs to be replaced since these come in different sizes. Other than that, great informative video.
You are the WORST. You CAN'T really believe this video is helpful. It IS hilarious though!!! It belongs on a "Blooper Reel". I watched the entire video because it was so funny. I couldn't wait to see what you were going to do next! Oh, it IS an instructional video alright...instructions in what NOT to do. You're a "Closet Comedian", or should I say "Closet Undersink Cabinet Comedian"! Thanks for the best laugh I've had in a long time. "Mr Handyman" you're not!!!
I think there’s a better video out there... I don’t know about having this guy teaching you how to install this. he seems like a rookie I’m gonna try to look for a different vid
penis reference was not cool but overall your video was entertaining. I've seen videos with more technical instruction which is always a winner for how to videos
I think you needed another 5 or 10 pounds of potatoes. I didn't mind the penis reference, but it looked too small to be that. Also, don't say "all right" unless it is - otherwise I get confused. I noticed that you had the same problem that I did, with getting the unit screwed in to the bottom of the sink. I was not able to do this by myself and had to get my brother to hold the unit in place while screwing it on. This is difficult because the ring at the top does not go on easily, and so it is easy to get one side to catch while other sides have not engaged with the flange.
