Perfect video. Thank you, Wayne! Ordered new MCOR from you last week, received it Friday and installed in less than one hour on Sunday. Problem solved! Golf cart is like new again. No more surging and hesitating. Especially appreciate explaining what tools would be needed. Went to the hardware store yesterday and got the needed Torx bits, so I was ready to go when it was time to start the repair. And right on target about those two long screws that hold down the pedal assembly. They are a pain to remove.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Wonder if you could suggest the tallest wheel and tire for my Club Car presedent that won't break the bank ? Thanking you in advance. David
Wayne--BIG thanks for this tutorial and for promptly shipping the potentiometer I ordered. It arrived this morning and in about twenty minutes my problem was solved. You saved me a ton of money and inconvenience! You have a new subscriber and I will be sharing information about you with my friends.😊
Thanks so much for posting this video! My father-in-law's 2007 Club Car Precedent had very jerky acceleration. After replacing the MCOR, it runs like new. Your video made the job easy. Thanks again for the help!
Great video. Really appreciate. In the process of replacing the MCOR on my 04. My cart has a brake light issue workaround that has been done, resulting in some different challenges.
thanks bud! great video. i just bought a 2014 club prec, my first cart ever. new to this world. looks like i need an mcor myself. i have slight hesitation after a week of driving. thanks bud
Outstanding video. Was experiencing hesitation on my 2011 precedent and this video helped me complete the repair in no time. Had some difficulty finding the right part as there are 4 different MCOR mods, but upgraded to MCOR4 and cart is running great. Thanks for your help
Thank you for the great video... It helped me a lot. :) I managed to disassemble my cart just fine but when putting it back together again, I couldn't for the life of me remember which side the long sliver floor bolts went on by the pedals... Your video cleared it up for me. Thank you.
Thank you for your detailed videos. The best I've seen on RU-vid. You know how to explain as you demonstrate what you are doing. I have subscribed to your channel. Will be coming back often.
Yes. Next time I get a DS in that needs one. I will film it. I usually replace them, on the road at the customer's house. Don't know how long it will be until I get the next DS mcor install, but I will film it.👍
I just ordered one off line. But the MCOR doesn’t look like the one in this video. I have a 96 Club car and Battery source told me I need a mcor conversion kit.
My mcor was defiantly bad. I could be going along and loose power instantly and then it would work through it. It would do it real bad some days. I bought the new one put it in just as the video showed. Had no problems went for a spin around the block and all of a sudden the dead spot happened again and then it worked through it by letting up on the pedal some.
Wayne, I need to replace my MCOR on my 2007 Club Car Precedent. My question is when purchasing the new MCOR, should I purchase the MCOR 2 or upgrade to the MCOR 4 Conversion. Your video was very informative and I am thinking twice about the Amazon $40 version verses Buggies Unlimited and Revolution Golf Carts. I would really appreciate your input.
Ken, it sounds like the microswitch inside the mcor is failing. When it cuts out on you, and if you do nothing at that point, other than step on the go pedal and it goes again. I would replace the mcor4, first. That is the most common failure, and not expensive. You can replace it easily yourself.
Thanks for answering me. When I start using the cart after sitting for a few days it takes 2-3 pedal depressions to make it go (I hear the solenoid click every time) at first. So I would assume that if it is sleeping that once we start using it it would no longer go to sleep? But during the course of playing golf where I am stopping and starting many times over 3-4 hours-it always takes at least 2 depressions to go. If I stop and start within 5seconds-it will go on the 1st depression. But if it sits longer than 10 seconds or so, it always takes 2-3 depressions to go. Once it goes it runs great. The batteries were recently changed so they should be fresh. As I said, I replaced the MCOR and the solenoid with no difference. Someone told me that I might have gotten a bad new MCOR. Is there any other switch associated with the accelerator that would be bad? Or do I need to do something to get it out of the sleep mode? Thanks for any help!!
Gary, it may just be a bad speed sensor. When a speed sensor goes bad, it does what you describe. A bad speed sensor will default to 8 mph. You can do a speed sensor test yourself, if your buzzer is working.
Hey! You can re upload your video with different titles. I have been searching for 2 years why does my club car start and stop, what does it work then not, not until a video August 2023 that was uploaded that had the title by what people are searching, then i learned it was the mcor and found your video after searching mcor Replacement
Hi Wayne. I have a Club Car Precedent 2016. My problem is , I’ll be driving along and then it just cuts out abruptly stopping . I then press the accelerator pedal and it will then carry on. What do you think it is ? Any help would be appreciated . I enjoy your videos . Thanks very much.
Wayne, I have a 2009 Club Car Precedent that I replaced the MCOR on as you described perfectly. The new MCOR is identical to the old one. Once I got it in and turned the run switch on, the cart does nothing. Not even any buzz in reverse. So I put the old MCOR back in and still nothing. Have I done something wrong or could there be another issue? I so appreciate your videos and you do a very good job of describing the process. I thank you for sharing.
Wayne, I don't know what I did but after flipping the run/tow switch several times and turning the key on and off several times all of a sudden the reverse buzzer started buzzing. I guess all is good. Thanks again for all your videos. I will always be a subscriber.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 That was probably the key to it. I got frustrated and just pushed the pedal several times and the reverse buzzer started buzzing and the cart works perfectly. No lurching. Thank you for your help.
Wayne, I purchased a bee MCOR II from your recommended source. I installed today and my ‘06 Precident is still bucking. Would a bad solenoid due this? Once running I have plenty of speed.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Should have said a new MCOR2 from Revolution Golf Carts. She I depress the pedal it hesitates and then kicks in and chatters till you get up to speed and then runs fast.
Wayne, thanks so much for this video. The symptoms you've described are exactly what I'm experiencing in my golf cart EXCEPT it's for a 2007 Par Car! Can you assist me with a MCOR for it?
a Acouple of more questions: 1. What is a speed sensor and would replacing it have any effect? 2. Is their any downside to continue running the knock off MCOR if I can live with the speed reduction?
First verify batteries have at least 49 volts, tow switch is in run, key is on, in forward, then step on go Pedal, what happens? If nothing, start tracing voltage with a tester, make sure wires are tight, check key switch, f/r, etc . Also make sure the obc has not gone into sleep mode.
I have a club car precedent that won't move at all just stopped in the middle of moving it around in the garage no clicks from solenoid reverse buzzer works radio and lights all work 50.3 volts at battery pack could the mcor b the culprit?
First check tow switch. Next check batteries and all connections . If that all is good, verify you have 48 volts to and thru key switch, then thru mcor when go pedal is pushed, then to and thru solenoid.
Hi Wayne Thanks for your videos, always straight to the point and easy to follow for us laymen. Please help with my problem: 1. 2012 Precedent, new to me. 2. Brand new Trojan batteries. 3. Since I got it when I take off there is plenty of power for about 10 yards then it hits a speed "wall" and limits the cart to 11kph (7mph). 4. Installed a new speed sensor today and no change. 5. Roll/walk away feature doesn't work. 6. Sometimes tow switch doesn't work and I can drive when in tow position. 7. Had the motor stripped to remove carbon build up and clean the brushes. 8. I haven't clocked it but reverse seems to have more top end than forward! Desperate to get this cart in top performance, please assist.
Definitely sounds like speed sensor, or bad magnet. Your magnet could be broke or cracked. Also, if you bought an after market sensor, that could be your problem. I use to buy the cheap sensors, and believe it or not, maybe 1 out 4 would work, so i quit buying them. Check the magnet first. Then i would invest in an oem speed sensor. When sensor is bad, it will act just as you are saying, it will take off at first, then default to 8 mph.
Do yamaha golf carts have an MCOR? Your video was great, I replaced the MCOR on my club car precedent, works great now. My buddy has a Yamaha... might also have a bad MCOR... but I can't find Yamaha MCORs to purchase online to replace it.... Please help. Thank you.
I don't have this problem but I can't find a video for what is wrong. At the slightest touch of the accelerator pedal it goes from 0 to full speed. What is the problem and how do I fix it
GREAT VIDEO! Just Subscribed, Question> After i fully charge my batterys on a 2016 Club car Precedent after driving around a bit then say i stop and push gas pedal sometimes it will give like a sudden jerk (like no power trying to turn off then it goes if i keep the pedal depressed with no issues but then may suddendly jerk like it lost power for a min while pressing pedal, I am going to replace the MCOR today besides batterys which i plan on replacing next either way what else could be the problem?
If it is a jerking feeling, then might be battery related. If it is hesitating, then more a mcor. Do not buy a cheap aftermarket mcor, they are junk. Buy a oem mcor. Oem mcor 4 is only 121 bucks on my site.
What you are describing , is exactly what happens when the tow switch has been turned on and off , or if the cart sits for a few days with non use. The computer goes to sleep, and you have to wake it. So in either of these situations, that is perfectly normal. Is this your case? Or not, and you drive every day, and do not flip the tow switch at all?
Wayne, Thanks for the info but my MCOR is way smaller 34-1183 and the wire connection is one plug you push in that has 5 pins in it all together not 2 pins in one and 3 pins in the other. any suggestions.
Hi Wayne, thanks for sharing this video, I didn't even know what an MCOR was until now! I have a 2012 CC Precedent that is dead. If it is a bad MCOR or microswitch, would the solenoid still click? I already changed the Solenoid to no avail, reverse buzzer doesn't even work. Thinking now it has to be the controller or MCOR....
Did the reverse buzzer work before? Has the cart been sitting for awhile, unused? Does the solenoid click each time you step on the pedal? First check today battery pack voltage, to see if you have at least 47 volts. If you do, unhook all the wires from the main positive pack battery and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then rebook wires up and try to drive ( with tow switch in run ,key on, and cart in drive). If it doesn't run, turn key off, stomp the go pedal to the floor about 10 times and turn key on and try driving again. Let me know what happens??
Mr Wayne I have a 06' Club Car DS IQ 48v. This cart started coming to a abrupt stop would beep 3 times. Then would start right back like new. Well it got where it wouldn't do anything no click from solenoid or back up buzzer. So I was testing things and I popped out f/r toggle switch and middle plug is suppose to be power. I ran a wire to middle plug from ground not power of battery and now cart works like new. I even installed new f/r but still needs wire from battery ground. Explain to me what's going on please sir. Thank you for your videos.
usually 3 beeps indicate a battery issue. The middle tab is 48 volts, and the other 2 tabs are forward and reverse. If you are only feeding middle tab with a ground, and cart is running, j have no idea what is happening
well, i didn't know nada and sent controller to repair..was good, 150 bucks gone. now know ing more i have ordered mcor4. hope that works, i got educated.. oh well
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 yeah, but i was frailing away at problem... still gonna save lots of the mcor works. could have done better... but..now i know and will probably never have to do it again. thanks
I have a 2013 electric Club Car Precedent that does not go the first time the accelerator pedal is pressed. But it usually takes off when you press the pedal a 2nd time. First I replaced the MCOR and it didn’t help. I thought the solenoid wasn’t clicking all the time so I replaced that and same thing. Once it goes, if you press pedal down within 5 seconds of stopping it will go again on the next pedal push. But if you wait more 7-10 seconds you have to press the pedal twice to go. Any ideas??
You bought a oem mcor from me, then you returned it and told me it was bad. Then you went elsewhere and bought one and installed it, and that didn't fix your problem either?
Wayne thanks for this - Question: I have a 2005 Club Car 48V. My symptom is - if the cart sits for a few days, I have to depress the gas pedal multiple times to get it to go ( I do it until the reverse beeper sounds) In addition, it seems to vary the speed quite a bit when operating - a bit jerky. Is this an MCOR replacement candidate and if so what is the correct PN for the replacement please?
If cart sits unused for a few days, the obc goes into sleep mode. When that happens you need to step on the pedal a few times to wake up the obc. This is normal

@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thanks for you response I should have been more specific it's a 2001 electric club Car... I yes I meant electric motor.. I think what has happened here when I got the Mcor4. The first one was from China and the second one was supposed to be a OEM that is on there now .... I believe it's from Mexico but I got it for $50 off of eBay it looks like they are selling as OEM but they are misleading ... I've been looking today anywhere from 90 to 133 dollars searching for a good OEM ... If you believe that is the problem and that's what I'm getting from watching your videos could you recommend a place to get a good OEM. Mcor4 it has the kit already installed .... I also replaced the wiring not the shaft
I'm actually surprised that you are asking for my advice, then you ask for a place to buy parts ? All my videos say I sell parts, but I guess you should Google for parts.
If you currently have an mcor, it is very simple to replace and there are videos how to change it. If you are talking about converting to a mcor, there are no videos, but the kit comes with great factory instructions.
Gary, Either the guy doesn't know or for some reason he doesnt want you to know the full story. When the cart leaves the plant, the controller has 4 settings programmed into it. All 4 speeds are programmable. The first 2 speeds are usually set for golf courses so you won't drive too fast. Speed 2 is about 11 mph. Speed 3 is what you have if you are going 14 now. In order to get speed 4 unlocked in your controller, you have to pay a club car dealer for the code to unlock that level 4. They will then send the code by snail mail to the dealer. The cost usually is about 125 for the code, but you also have to pay the tech for 2 trips, first trip he comes out and plugs in his scanner to your cart, to get the serial number of the controller. He then sends that number to club car, to get your code. Once he has that code, he comes out a second time to type that code into your controller. That will give you 19.6 mph, which is speed code 4. Your mcor is not causing you reduced speed, the cart tops out at 14-15. You can install a high speed motor, and that will get you more speed without having to deal with a dealer.
HI, that is what he told me, he had to come out and get the serial number then go to Club Car with that number and they will send the high speed code out. When he plugged his scanner into the car he said it was already set to high speed. He said he did not know why it ran slow with the high speed code already set? So my best bet is to have Club Car come out? Thanks
Wayne thanks for the video ,I’m checking online for mcor for my 2014 club car , most are saying 04 to 11 , do you have any recommendations where to buy ? Thanks
Hello Wayne, I have experience 3 times stop and go and it's getting worse. After the 12 hole it will not run. I pushed it and then go. 3 holes after same thing. I know it was not the batteries. What do you suggest is my problem?
My club car will only go 10 MPH. It takes right off get right up to 10 and that is it. I took it to a club car dealer and they tell me my controller is bad. When I ask around I am told a bad controller will only run about 2 - 3 mph that it is not a bad controller. I have the stick showing my speed codes and the dealer told me it was set for high speed but it is a bad controller? What do you think?
Hi Wayne, I have a Club Car precedent and I had a guy tell me my cart is set to high speed but it only goes around 12-14 mph. Could this be a problem with the MCOR or do you think it is something else? Thanks
I have a2004 club car precident that goes slow uphill . The m-cor 4 potentiometer is mcor 4 cc119511630 cart serial number is AQ0436-431500. I removed the old mcor 4 and when I Installed the new one it didn't work. I think some small part got away with from me when I took out the old one. ????
Wayne, I'm the original owner of a 2004 Club Car Precedent Serial # CE0432-418067 that won't move forward or reverse more than 1”. Prior to this breakdown, I had no indication of any potential mechanical/electrical issues. I installed four new 12v batteries last year. When I now plug the cart into the charger, the needle on the meter doesn't even move, but does make a “humming” sound. Could this possibly be an issue with the forward/reverse switch or perhaps the MCOR unit? - Thank You! 😃
So you have 2 issues, the cart won't run and the cart won't charge? Has the cart been sitting unused for awhile? What is the voltage of the entire pack?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Wayne, I use the cart 2-3 times per week. It had been performing perfectly up until the time it wouldn't move. I live on a course and had driven the cart up to the practice range to warm up, but when I attempted to drive the cart to the first tee, it wouldn't move. - What tools/gauges would I need to test voltage?
I have a 2004 gas precedent and the other day in went into almost a limp mode and will not rev up and run at even a mile an hour. Could a new MCOR or GCOR fix this problem? And how do I know which one I need?
Gary, as long as your batteries are good, there really is only 3 things can can be bad, they are : the speed sensor, the mcor, or the controller. To test the speed sensor, the batteries need to be good, and your reverse buzzer needs to be working. With tow switch in run position, and the cart in forward, turn the key on. Now try pushing the cart about 8 feet. If the sensor is good, you will feel resistance from the cart, it will try to slow down. AND ALSO you should hear the reverse buzzer start to beep real fast. If this happens, the sensor is good. then try the mcor next.
Wayne, Thanks for the video. I have a 2014 Precedent, upgraded to speed code 4 and with an Bandit motor upgrade. I started to experience the hesitation described so I ordered an MCOR4 from you. I replaced it and while it did reduce the issue, I do still have the hesitation. On a golf round, it starts around hole 9 or 10 and is pretty bad on any uphill. Any thoughts on the next step?
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Okay, I'll check them. They check out fine and are all at 8.3-8.6 volts not under load. I'll to a load test and see where they're at. Thanks
I have never heard a cart go dead, just by replacing the mcor, that is very strange. Check tow switch, wires, key switch, could be just a coincidence. Make sure batteries are charged, i would think the batteries are the issue, not the mcor.
What’s those dead wires for next to the MCOR? They weren’t connected to anything. Which MCOR does my 2010 Precendent use, serial number starts with PH?
those wires are for the brake lites. Your cart can have either an mcor2 or mcor4 on it. You need to open floor and look. Or you can buy the pedal group2 RTS i have on my ebay store, waynesgolfcarts
Wayne, I have a 2002 Club Car DS and it recently started doing this bucking thing. My batteries are 15 months old and all test good. I just did the test where I turn the key on, put the cart in forward and push it. I have no resistance. After doing this, I put it in reverse and all it would do is click every time I steped on the Go pedal. I tried several times in both forward an reverse. When this started bucking yesterday, I thought it was the MCOR, but now I'm not so sure. Would a bad speed sensor cause it not to run at all? Thanks, John
Hi Wayne I recently replaced the mcor in my club car. The two problem screws snapped on me. What is your suggestion for that issue when reinstalling? Thanks
If you have a precedent, just drill a couple holes in the area of the broken ones, and get a pan head pointer screw about 1 1/2-2" long and drill it into the plastic, no biggie.
Hey Wayne! Found you during a search to solve a problem I am having. So we have a club car ds 93, we are having issues with it going. We will get a good bit of go with it for 30 or so minutes until it starts giving issues and just looses “power”. The gas pedal won’t engage and the cart won’t go. I have to turn it off, wait a few seconds to minutes and then turn it on, sometimes it goes sometimes it doesn’t. When it does it a jerky start. When it doesn’t you can just hear the spring stretching. Sometimes I have to pump the gas pedal several times to get it to go. Batteries are new and have a full charge. V Glide is what I plan to check next. I can’t find one of these black boxes on my cart. Any other thoughts? Thank you!
Hello Wayne, I have a 2010 club cart President. It runs normal on flat but can’t go up hill. The motor gets hot when trying to go up hill. All the batteries where replaced to new one and the problem remains. What could cause this issue?
Did it go uphill easier at one time? If the batteries are good, and motor gets hot, it may be a loose wire connection, or maybe your motor brushes are wearing out.
Would it just stop if the brushes are low? I replaced the wires and still have the issues. I tested the voltage and it constant 48 volts. Thank you for replying
When you say 48 volts, if that number is accurate, then the batteries are a little weak.48 volts is less than 50%, I'm surprised you make it home at 48 volts.
I removed the motor and clean it up. The brushes are in good condition, Now it is in limping mode (stop and go) what else can I do. Could it be the MCOR? In reverse it seems stronger.
Hello I have a 1996 EZGO and it drains the batteries really fast and it runs slow even when fully charged. batteries are 2 years old . what should I start checking first?
What voltage is your cart , 36 or 48? If it's 36 volt it probably is slow by nature anyway. Was it faster at 1 time than it is now? What model of ezgo do you have ? What accessories do you have on the cart?
Wayne I have a 2008 Club Car Precedent 48 volt cart. My problem is that the cart seems to lose power like the key has been turned off. It does not seem to be a problem while the cart is moving. I get off to hit the ball. Go back to to the cart no power. I can wait a few minutes, doing nothing to it, then it will start back. it may run two holes or two weeks before it does it again. I was told that it was a problem was the solenoid, I changed that. did not fix my problem. Then I was told it was the MCOR. I will change that out tomorrow. But after finding your site, I do not think that will fix my problem. Any help that may fix it would be appreciated!
It does sound like an mcor to me. It sounds like maybe the micro switch inside the mcor. How you can check that, is pull up the floor, and unplug the 2 wire connector that plugs into the mcor. Then bend a paper clip into a "U" and plug the paperclip into the connector holes of the 2 pin connector, push the clip down into the 2 holes, and leave it like that and drive around like that. See if that helps the issue. If it does, then that verifies that the mcor micro switch is bad, and you will need to replace the mcor.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 Thank you so much for your help! I have changed the MCOR out with a new one today. I have drove it around and seems to be work great. That was super easy fix, thanks again!
Wayne, My problem is I put 4 brand new Crown batteries in my cart and after 9 holes my battery level goes down to half. I continued on and ran out of juice at the 15th hole. That is when it started to hesitate. Do you think the MOCR unit is my problem? Thanks in advance.
Your mcor will not affect the batteries. If you didn't charge your new batteries before you used them, then that is probably why they ran out of juice. Since you failed to mention what year and brand cart you have, it's possible your cart may not even have an mcor. If your cart has an mcor, and it is hesitating, then get an oem replacement, not a cheap aftermarket one, or your problem will return in a few months.
My 2013 Club Car precedent wont go the first time I press the accelerator but does go on the 2nd or 3rd time and then runs good. I changed the MCOR but it didnt help the issue. Any ideas?
Ben, i apologize, i answered you a few weeks ago, and thought i sent it, but i cant find it now, sorry. What you are describing, is the normal sequence that happens when the obc goes to sleep. What causes the obc to go to sleep, is 1 of 2 things. First, if the cart sits, unused, for a few days, that will put the obc into sleep mode. Also, if you put tow switch in tow, then when you put back into run, that will take either 2 or 3 stomps to make the cart go. Are either of these scenarios what you are doing? Or is this happening say, when you drive cart, turn key off, then turn back on and go?
I have a club car Ds that was upgraded when i got it and it stopped working i took it to a golf cart place and they said i needed a new motor so i got a new motor and it wont do anything i need some help
Ashley, Did the cart shop you took it to, say the cart drove after installing the new motor? Did you EVER drive your cart, once you got it? Did you see it drive , after the new motor was installed? Can you tell me what happened when it would no longer run? Were you driving and it just stopped_/ etc?
I have a 2010 Precendent and how do I know if I need a new MCOR for sure? If I hit the pedal it takes a few seconds to go with a big delay but goes fine. Then if I try to cruise at low speed I feel a small surge but at faster speeds it’s fine and still hits 17mph with just a lift and big tires only.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 anyway to narrow it down more or trouble shoot? It seems to run perfect for me in every other way and even after a long day I never see my battery meter drop below 49v and is 51v fully charged. Batteries are 2yr old basic 8v type. I was thinking the huge tires and lift but a load in it more than stock would?
Lift and big tires definitely put a load and strain on the controller. Since it doesn't stop or shut down on you, then the controller is probably not overheating. I would look at the mcor and also possible corrosion on wires. If you have never replaced the mcor, I would, they seem to last on average about 7 years.
@@waynemartin.waynesgolfcart4900 sounds like a plan, I don’t think I it has been changed and it’s a 2010.
