You’re very welcome my friend! That is why I do this, Let me know if you need anything!

The middle position is roughly where the cutout (the space that allows the sear to move) in the safety is. Fitted my first ever ambi Wilson safety on the Prodigy. I was shocked at how much of the leg I had to file off. Almost the entire thing. I was okay with it though because that's how the stock safety was fitted as well. Getting the stock Prodigy ambi safety off was a legit battle, just like yours. Definitely required some prying. Thanks!

Yeah, the factory safeties on mine were definitely tough as well! But thank you very much for sharing and watching my friend. I appreciate you! I got a comment from a guy who is having a really bad time with his safeties and I couldn’t exactly understand what his issue was but I said I could just make a video and share what I know and see if that helps. I often make a video for one person, so keep that in mind if you ever need some help, I can always share what I know!

My safety straight falls out, from factory will go back in then do the same thing after a mag. Anyone else having this problem?

@@B00MSTICK-0PERATOR it sounds like a couple of things could be the issue. Have you taken it apart? It sounds like your plunger is missing or underpowered. And the cheap Mim safeties aren’t the best but they should fit snug together the left and right. When you put them together, it should be difficult to pinch them together

Installed parts as you instructed. Worked wonderfully !!!!!! The EGW safety is what should have come on the gun. I had to figure out the pins and the "sleeve" that goes on the safety to help with it backing out. That I finally figured out. I filed cautiously, taking my time and got it to fit just right. It's tight, smooth and very tactile. Almost changes the entire gun having a quality part installed. All went well with the blueing. Any and all areas that needed touch-up, the Birchwood "Super Blue" took care of. That stuff works pretty damn good !!!!!!! I just can't thank you enough for your help. You are a very kind man and Lord knows we need more folks like you !!!! Thanks again !!!! 🙂

@@TheAmerican1963 I can’t believe I missed this comment. I’m sorry I don’t know what happened, but I really appreciate your feedback and kind towards my friend. I am very thankful I was able to help you. That is what this is all about for me!! God bless you and yours!!

I fit the Atlas safeties in my Prodigy, full EGW internals. I only had to make 3 swipes with a small file for perfect fit. Nice thing is Atlas has the angle ground already for you to go off of. I wish I got the standard ambi though..went with extended Lefty and it's big paddle, digs into my tummy
@americantrucker9813
@americantrucker9813 9 месяцев назад
You can sand that down to your preferred size and then blue it my friend and fix that issue?

@@PkwyDrive13 if you didn’t want to send down the AGW Safety you got and do you want to get a set that is more comfortable I recommend the IDPA Ambi versions it is the same, but just a smaller paddle

Hey I love your videos but I have a simple question. On your AOS plate that mounts to the slide, does the factory supplied screw go into the extractor channel and contact the extractor and have you had to trim it down? I've red loc tited my plate down after it keeps coming loose and now I'm running into extraction issues and I think this may be the culprit. Any help is greatly appreciated!
@americantrucker9813
@americantrucker9813 5 месяцев назад
Thank you I appreciate that ! thanks for watching and Absolutely the AOS plate screw needs to be sanded down so that it does not contact the extractor and try to view very little walk tight, so as not to squeeze any out the bottom onto the extractor. I used a very small amount that only spread throughout top few threads. You can dab a little on those top threads with the tip of a pen or something similar. Unfortunately you’re probably gonna have to pull out your extractor and use a bore rod scrub out the extractor channel, mine was pretty messy and gunk up with cerakote as was my firing, pin channel.

@@americantrucker9813 Thanks for the quick reply! And yes I noticed my optic plate had come loose and it came loose on that extractor side, so I idiotically just decided to red loctite it down but now it's just holding pressure on it and causing the random issues. I've got well into 2,000 rounds through the gun without ever even removing the extractor so I'll be sure to clean that channel well! Also, what's the best way to remove those T10 torx with generous red loctite? I've heard of putting a soldering iron down into the torx and letting it heat or also putting a torx driver into the screw and heating the driver shaft and letting it transfer down... I'm just trying to minimize casualties at this point and get them out without stripping! Thank you again for the help brother!!
@americantrucker9813
@americantrucker9813 5 месяцев назад
@southernprideish sorry for the late reply. I just seen this but the only way to remove them with red Loctite without stripping them is to apply heat. You can try the soldering iron as long as you get it nice and hot. You can get them out pretty easy with heat but unfortunately, the screws do strip very easy and you really only get one shot. I have had stripped screws and it absolutely sucks. In fact my RMR is stuck on until the battery dies and then I will have to use a Dremel to cut the screws off because they are so badly stripped. The red lock certainly solves the problem of it, falling off or coming loose.

If I just have the EGW sear and disco (not the hammer) installed in my Prodigy will I have to file the Atlas safety ?????
@americantrucker9813
@americantrucker9813 5 месяцев назад
Possibly, but there’s literally only one way to find out. I mean, if you have gone that far with those parts, you might as well buy EGW hammer. I don’t believe anyone else makes a better hammer for a better price.

Your welcome! Sorry I couldn’t give you a more definitive answer. I only know the Two sets of Atlas Safety’s that I own fit Perfectly with 4 different EGW hammers I have. The silver solid, the Black Solid, the Silver lightened & the Atlas EGW DLC Lighted hammers. I never tried to see if the Atlas Safety’s for the Prodigy hammer. If you haven’t I highly recommend a 17lbs mainspring or even lighter if you can find one. I’ve ordered 4 different 17lbs mainsprings from different companies and they were all different weights. Measuring spring pressure requires some equipment I don’t have but with what I have my best guess is the one I use is 13lbs and it’s excellent! The hammer hits the firing pin with roughly 5-6lbs with a 13lbs mainspring which is about the same as an OEM Glock Striker.

@@americantrucker9813 Funny you mentioned mainsprings !!! Last nite I just ordered the 17# from EGW along with the mainspring housing. I'm going to order the hammer when they come in. The blued version is always out of stock. Again, you are always helpful and I am very grateful for that .... Thank you !!!!! 🙂

@TheAmerican1963 well you could blue it yourself it’s pretty easy, you can order Birchwood Casey super blue. It’s also a great touchup tool for scratches on your guns. or you could order the DLC hammer from Atlas it is much more expensive I think. And don’t forget you could probably get the blued EGW hammer from eBay.
