Minn Kota Precision Chargers let you program each bank to the exact type of battery you're connecting for the fastest, most efficient charge. See how to set them up with Andy Kratochvil of Fish Lectronics and Wired2Fish.
This 4-bank (4-battery) charger has an Output of 15 Amps/battery for 15 Amps x 4 batteries = 60 Amps. The amperage output is specified at the Battery voltage (12+ Volts DC). The INPUT amperage, however, is determined at 120 Volts AC. So if the charger is about 90% efficient, the Input amperage would be approx. 12V/120V x 60 divided by 0.9 or around 7 Amps. In other words, well within the capacity of a 120 Volt AC outlet fed by a 15 Amp breaker or fuse.
Travis, Minn Kota trolling motors can run on Lithium Ion batteries. However, they are specifically designed to run on traditional lead acid batteries (flooded, AGM or GEL). Lithium Ion batteries maintain higher voltages for longer periods of time than lead acid. Therefore, running a Minn Kota trolling motor at speeds higher than 85% for a prolonged period could cause permanent damage to the motor. Thanks!
