I bought an ES4 last year, they suck. If you don't keep the external battery securely fastened, the battery terminal starts to burn and melt the connector. Didn't know that? Should have bought the max. I'm an idiot. Check your battery terminal for melting if you still have the error 42 problem.
The battery mounting rail was loose on my ES3 Plus (Costco ES4) straight out of the box. I kept tightening the battery with the included tool but the bolts stupidly do not attach through the bracket and the tool doesn’t fit the bracket screws meaning the entire thing was still loose. Within three weeks of ownership this caused the connector to melt with Error 42. Cleaning the connector and adding dielectric grease helped get another month out of it a few different times but eventually I just returned it to Costco and bought a discount ES4. Now the ES4 is giving Error 21 fresh out of the box! Not sure if it’s a connection problem with the internal battery of if it has simply been stored too long causing the battery to go into sleep.
hey! hope you're well. Stumbled upon your video and how you mentioned that removing the battery helps to reset with any throttle issues. Im currently experiencing a problem with my ES4 and was wondering if you had similar issues (or in the past). My scooter jerks every once in a while and its been a lot more apparent - when I accelerate, it jerks (replicates a quick break) multiple times before finally adjusting and being smooth, but then it will do it again. Hoping you can tell me more on how to resolve this issue if you've had it!
that being said, I am also a local NYer and wondering if you have any Go to places for Local repairs? Trying to avoid sending it in as much as possible
I bought an es4 and it’s way too heavy for me to bring in and out of the house. I want to take off external battery so I can have a much lighter es2. You video is very helpful but I didn’t start with es2. What are the size of the 3 screws you had to take off before you put on the bracket? After I take off the bracket I will need to put in the 3 screws, Also, what is the name and size of the two screws on the charging port component. I already separately bought the charging cover component separately since it didn’t come with it as an es4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yeah should just get an es2 but it’s actually more expensive than es4 on Amazon now. Thanks in advance. Any links or sites to buy the screws would be appreciated as well.
Hello, I have that same model of scooter, I lost the external screws that hold the external battery, do you know what they are called (their height and type of head) and where I can get them. Thank you
Q: I have a ninebot Max w/1100km on it and had to replace the back tire, now when I turn it on it won't move and all I get is the 18 code she's not even a year old and I was careful in changing the tire what can I do Segway wants about $200 to fix it. 😞
do you know anything about an error code 10 on the es3? I took mine apart and the blue wire was split in half but not sure if that's the problem or something else. can you help?
I hope you can reply good sir. Seeing as you have a multitude of scooters and experience. My es4 is beeping while charging and giving error 42 and rarely gives error 48 and I am paranoid because this scooter is my work horse. In need of help if simple fix.
I got error code 48 something problem with the extern battery i think. I have a friend that have a battery can I install it to this one take the one that I have on The scooter now. Do I need to flash it after ?
Not possible I thought of that idea too. It does not work because when u used the 2nd added battery it drains the main battery too. So the scooter will have a main battery at 50 and the new 2nd bat at 100 but the scooter will only read 50
Do you know how to tighten real well the extended battery against the port because if I normally screw the two bolts up and down it still seem that the app is unable to read the extended battery unless I press the bottom part hardly then it will display it in the main screen and in settings. Please help
Hmmmm. Seems like your copper ports on the external bat might be loose or dirty, clean with tooth brush. Try screwing it in tighter with washers. Lol if worse comes to worse ive seen people in nyc use duct tape
To take the external battery off what tool did you use was it a Hex tool cause it looks like a round circle in there it's hard to tell and you just take the 2 rubber piece off then take the 2 bots off and the battery will come off?
If you take the external bat off. You can charge your scooters internal battery with the plug in. Please note external has to be installed for the external battery to work. The external battery cannot be charged alone by itself.
I think that one is a blown circuit from the external bat. Happened to my es3. I took the lose and removed the battery. At least now it's a es1 but it works
