At first, this didn't work for me. I watched the video again to see what I missed. Turns out I didn't drop my USB stick even once before opening/closing doors.
sweet! i just did it too. to confirm, android auto needs the phone plugged in to work right? i wasnt able to use the android auto app on the car over bluetooth
Has your car got an aux port? My car is Mazda 3 2014 and it has not AUX port. Is this android auto application will work in my car? Is it working with bluetooth?
I'm highly offended by that flashdrive treatment 😂 but this should work in all Mazdas till they make it standard probably later this summer if they haven't already. Great vid dude.
Seriously, what is wrong with Mazda??? Why can't they release AA and CarPlay to Mazda owners who has been anxious to get this in their cars? They know their own system is not ideal at all. We have to revert to generous and helpful people like this guy to McGyver our car. Very annoyed Mazda is not saying anything.
IMO, Mazda Connect is better than AA and Carplay. The only thing I like better about AA is the fact you can use Google Maps instead of buying a NAV chip
My 2016 Mazda CX-5 has nav and its messed up. It loses track of the current location all the time. I've had it to the dealer six times so far and it's still doesn't work right. I'm taking it back next week for another attempt at a fix and if that doesn't work I may be installing this. Complete BS.
Hi from Spain and thanks for the video and explanations. I have just bought my new mazda cx5 with 59.00.504 as OS version of mazda connect . is there any way to install the AA in my device without changing nothing in the cables?? I mean, is there any chance to avoid the usb limitation of this mazda connect version?? Thanks a lot.
Will this work on my go cart? Can I download the files onto my kettle, as I don't have a PC? If I bought a 1953 Toyota could I get it to work? Please explain how an apple might work - do I eat it raw or cook it? Have you always had problems with doors? And cameras? And holding a USB stick? Have you considered treatment? Have I now exhausted the list of stupid questions? No, I haven't (see below).
I did the installation (in CX-5 2016) of the 2 .zip in the link ("AndroidAuto_v0.91B" and "AndroidAuto_ButtonPatch") and I had 2 issues... 1. A small yellow box with some letters and numbers displayed on the bottom right of the screen of my car, from the time I turn it on, (I mean that even when not running AndroidAuto App) 2. No sound. If I play music for example spotify, not heard anything turning up the volume with physical volume car button) Or if I use navigation, you hear no indication.
No way this can be this easy!!! Can it? I have a 2015 3 Hatchback iTouring, this should work just as easy? And if this the original Android Auto or some modified version made for carhacks? And loved that USB POV video to the car....epic.
Hello Friend, I installed the program today and it worked perfectly for me, after a short time the entertainment screen of the Mazda 3 does not work, it got stuck, it does not allow you to do anything or select any option.
Will this work on a CX-9 2017 or 18.....I watched a video and it shows that you actually have to buy parts and route wires along the center console...is that just a money making scam
Hey man, thanks for the tutorial. After install, its was working fine.. for some reason i just factory reset my car .. now its showing only mazda logo .. how to reset to stock? please help
I've done this a few times over the past 2 years that we've owned our 2016 cx9. The only problem is the phone won't work through the speakers. Until that gets fixed, it's a deal breaker
I have a 2019 Sport CX5. Does this mean I don't have to change the USB port and the wirings? I could just install this and i can use android auto right away?
Is there no physical installation needed? I have an appointment for next week at the mazda dealership to get this updated. They said it takes 2-3 hours and will cost 400 bucks. Also...mine is a 2014 Mazda3. What year is the car in the video?
Great Video Patrick! I upgraded my FW from 29 to 32 and then again to 70. I think I did a mistake of upgrading to 70 instead of 50s FW as I read in many blogs that it doesn't support AIO tweaks without a serial connection tweak. Is it? Is there a way I could downgrade back to 50FW and enjoy Android Auto or video players
the knobs and physical buttons don't work anymore for some reason, only the volume knob. i can only control my infotainment system through the touchscreen. did i do something wrong?
After I plugged the USB it goes for the yes/noscreen but I have no touch option on my touchscreen... and now it stuck in that screen even when I pull out the USB!!!!! What would I do ???
please help. I've followed your video step by step. pull the USB out. it rebooted and now the screen is stuck of the mazda emblem. what would I have to do?
hello, mytechliving . He was investigating how to install Android Auto and reach your video. But I have a question , I have a Mazda 3 Model 2015 and would like to know whether the installation and operation is the same. Thank you
The app seems to install, and starts up. My phone also seems to indicate that Android Auto is detected. But the Mazda screen just doesn't progres and gives what looks like some standard output logs.
+mytechliving The rest of the CMU is fine. I can go back to the main menu and use the rest of the apps. It's Android Auto which fails to load. Do I need to install anything on my phone? The last lines of the "error trace" say: hu_app_recv_process() iret: -1 Error in read... END END
+mytechliving Could be. I'm on a Nexus 4 (so quite old), with Marshmallow - which I flashed myself since it's not supported for the model. But I also noticed Android Auto is not available in all countries, so that might be a readon why. Malta wasn't on the list.
Got this working, looking good.. but... how about the audio, how do you get the normal radio to shut up and let the AA audio take over? Only way I have found out how to get AA Audio to be heard, is to put in USB drive also with mp3 audio, and pause the playback there.. but kind of silly way, any other better way of doing this?
Because of the mazda updates my mazda3 doesn't have the WiFi option. Will this hinder me from installing android auto or the functionality of its other features
So I installed this on my Mazda it works up to a point where I get a notification on my phone, the system freezes, it "disconnects" from the car and freezes me out of the whole system. I have to shut the car off to be able to use the system again
i managed to install it to my 2016 CX5! does it only work with usb connected? not bluetooth? and i have an issue where AA doesnt have any sound, everytime phone is connected and AA is running, i only get the audio from radio, and i cant change that. any advice?
mytechliving thank you very much bro! ver0.94 has an issue, everytime i open the AA with my phone connected, both left and right side of my mazda screen will have a scrambled color. i have to close it, and re open again.
Mazda OS version is 55.00.753 NA N. However, my phone's google play service's version is 9.2.56. So, even if everything installed correctly, i still woulnd't be able to use this, is that so?
After install, everything good except when I select Android Auto from the Home Screen I get the message that it is not connected to a phone. What am I doing wrong? I've installed Android Auto App and it's connected. Thanks.
can i install this on a 2016 cx9 and do u sell the thumbdrive pre installed??iam not a tech person at all thanks also does it show google satelite option on the nav also or no???
In my 2017 Mazda 6 Android Auto only did work the first startup after that it dit crash and nothing dit workt anymore , i had to turn the car of and disconect the smartphone. after i uninstalt android auto the rest of the tweeks workt.
'15 iGT here. I downloaded MZD AIO and selected a few changes to make (eliminate warnings, screen background, and Android Auto). the warnings went away and the background was there! However, when i go to initiate android auto, i get a screen with different year ranges showing related to certain updates (I guess) and two lines below that that say "how to connect via wifi" and "how to connect via USB". It doesn't proceed past this point. I restored the infotainment back to default settings and plan to do another install attempt soon. Have you seen anyone else run into this error? Does version of infotainment system impact this (version 59 or higher?). I appreciate your video!
I tried with a CX-3 2015 Japanese version 59.00.540 JP M is not recognizing as software update, just recognize as USB plugged in. Please, can someone help me with the process? Thank you! Happy new year !
