Awesome job on the video ETA! Got it installed on an old Latitude D620 just to test it out and it even runs good on that LOL. Had to replace the wifi card with a newer one to get that working but everything else just works. Now to put it on something with some guts, Should run very well on the M93P! Thanks for the video!!

Thanks ETA - I'm doing this now to a $200 ASUS that had a 32 GB internal - Once windows updated a few times it's left with 133 MB! Installing as we speak to hope this makes it a more usable machine again for basic word processing / web viewing for my wife. EDIT: - This completely saved the laptop - So fast and cleared up hard drive space. Once I cleared off some of the educational / kiddie code stuff it's super clean and nice!

The last time I tried to install a co-boot OS was onto a Windows NT laptop. As I mentioned before I was looking for a cheap computer for my mom to use. I had this extra laptop that I could let her borrow but I wanted to keep my data on it safe. I read all the reviews and methods for making a dual boot computer. I got the latest stable version of Ubuntu as a DVD image because the machine didn't support booting from USB. Short of the story it worked fine off the optical drive. It would not run off the HDD, nor would my Windows OS after the failed install attempt. All my data for Windows NT was there. So I grabbed it all to store on another HDD and ended up letting her using it. She liked it at first even though I explained the problem and slowness of it. She put up with it for a little while before complaining of how bad the experience was. So I donated it reluctantly to a charity that probably was going to have it scrapped for precious metals and components. I didn't have the money to have it fixed. And that boys and girls is the last time I tried messing around with this stuff. By all accounts this was never supposed to happen.

Maybe you want to mention that it doesn't support raid etc.I know most don't run raid setup's but some of use do.Specially if you have 2 small ssd's to raid them makes it way better.

I saw your last overview vid and thought this would be a good OS for those learning apps for the kid during this period of school closure. I've an old pretty weak notebook that struggles so will give this install a try and see if it runs lighter. Definitely a nice looking distro to try, cheers

It shows up wanting to start but then it just stays in that position. Would you have any tips for me? It would be greatly appreciated.

I have the 4gb of ram version of this laptop running Zorinos and I am loading Batocera off a usb drive. It works great. If I want windows I use Shadow.

Found a way how to install it on windows 7 - downloaded it with torrent, then loaded downloaded iso image as CD on virtual CD Rom using Ultrned itaISO app and opened endless os installer like a normal app, but with option to install it on hardrive instead of USB stick, but still could create stick in new OS so might be good idea to install small version of endless OS first for speed.

Hey ETA I recommend you try out GamerOS a Arch Linux based OS made for gamers with no need for keyboard and mouse. Just need a gamepad.

Search what the usb boot keys are and install it as normal(download and flash the .ISO file to a usb)

You might want to try resetting the MacBook to factory settings. When I set up my 2010 MacBook Air, to give to my brother, it worked much better and faster than before the reset.

Let's be honest this os is good but there are so many things that steer me away from it I've reformatted this on a laptop and used it for 48 hours (estimated) 1 it can pretty much only use flatpaks if you know anything about linux you'll understand that other distros allow you to access apps like AnBox whereas endless os only pretty much lets you use their appstore which really doesn't have much on it for example i tried to install Firefox and vivaldi which are browser's and it prompted me saying it won't install them and that i can only use apps within its appstore as the terminal doesn't allow you to download other things necessarily and if you plan to use it for emulation you can pretty much only use what it has in its store but if you just want this for a faster os that will save you alot of space then its good but there are better alternatives just my opinion

What WIFI adapter does your Lenovo have? I have an cheap Evoo Walmart laptop with a Realtek 8723BU wifi adapter in it and when I installed a Linux Distro on it, I had to switch from the driver included in the Linux Kernel/Module to one from a git repository and build it from source because the driver included didn't let me connect to any wifi networks.

Have you tried the latest version of Endless on that laptop? The Realtek 8723BU has been a real pain point on Linux over the years as you have seen. But my talented colleague Chris Chiu recently managed to fix up the in-kernel rtl8xxxu driver to work really well, no longer any need to install separate drivers from source. This fixed driver is present in the latest version of Endless, and the fixes have also been accepted into the official Linux kernel and hence will become widely distributed through all other Linux distros as they update over the course of this year. - Daniel @ Endless

@@Daniel-xb8wz Thanks for letting me know about this. When I have a chance, I'll give it a try on my laptop and see if it works out of the box. I thought I had seen somewhere where there was a fix that was going to be put into upstream Linux but didn't know anything specifically if it was complete or not. Anyways, I'll report back when I've had a chance to test it out and let you know if I encountered any issues with my particular hardware and if so, try to provide some more information and so on. What are your thoughts on Endless Is vs PrimeOS for gaming. My nephew originally wanted to play his Android games on computer but he's since discovered fortnite, which I'm finding to be notoriously difficult to install on anything other then windows.

That's because fortnite is made for a computer and takes a lot of power and unfortunately not a lot of devices on Android are powerful enough to run that game. But obviously for fortnite you need a very fast computer with a lot of power a lot of memory definitely a really good graphics card it won't work on a order computer you need a super fast I5 or i7 with at least you know 8 gigs of RAM or more and have to have at least a well a recommended would be like 1060 GPU Nvidia so I mean yeah fortnite is for people that actually have a really nice computer won't work with a regular computer

2GB RAM on a Win10 machine? That's just asking for trouble in this day and age. I haven't had that little since XP. Oh, and at first attempt at Endless OS, I had to shut down my old test laptop (Acer Aspire 5455G) completely after the install, as it froze during reboot. Worked fine after a cold boot..

Yeah I don't recommend etcher it messed up my computer and I had to reinstall Windows and I've heard other people doing it so if you're going to use anything you might as well use Rufus it's the easiest way and works really well

How do you access a USB drives or ext Hard drives from USB on this OS? it makes the sound of connected but cant view them :(

In the Documents app you should see them listed towards the bottom of the left pane.

If not, check the Disks app to verify that the device was correctly detected.

Sometimes I think people don't know the difference between bits and bytes. I use an unlimited hotspot provided by my work. It's only 80mbps but it's free and I take it with me everywhere.

16 gigs for an OS thats compressed is making me wonder, just what the hell is in it thats not needed. Windows 10 is only about 4 gigs compressed and base install after all updates is around 23 gigs. I tried to download Endless OS to try it out, but gave up when it went from 43 minutes to 14 hours to download it from torrent. I ain't got time for that.

Yes - download the ISO from the 2nd tab shown on the website download page ("Try or Install") and then flash that to a USB disk with Rufus.

Dude, the Endless OS is a dog. I have a pretty fast i7 computer and Endless was stupidly slow. I had to uninstall it after a few hours trying to tinker with it. I'll continue looking for a good linux OS to run. I am going to try Linux Mint next.

That is weird, I installed it last night on an old Toshiba Satellite Laptop with 4gb RAM and CPU: Intel Pentium(R) Dual T3200@ 2GHZx2. And I am enjoying it, definitely booting and running faster than the fresh Windows install I had on it previously. Linux Mint is pretty good though for sure. Good luck.

Mint is a bit big(relatively). Linux Lite feels very similar to Mint, but is very low footprint. Perfect for low-end devices and beastly systems alike, IMO.

Absolutely junk. I booted the 2.3G basic distro from a flash drive on my i5 Lenovo, took FOREVER to load, although it did detect my hardware pretty well. It just took AGES... Next, I installed it in a Virtual box VM, and, again, it took forever to load, and was extremely sluggish to respond. Then I discovered it was downloading tons of apps in the background, WITH NO NOTIFICATION TO THE USER. It wouldn't respond to mouse clicks, and was just dead until it finished 500+MB of downloading apps. No indication of progress, either. Just a bar indicator saying "Installing", stuck at 0% In fairness, if I had downloaded the full 15GB install, those apps would have been installed with the rest of the system, but even after everything was downloaded, the system was extremely slow to boot, with the login screen unresponsive for over a minute, not responding to clicks on my username - nothing. In contrast, my MX Linux VM, on the same system, boots up in under 30 seconds from pressing start to the full desktop. This Endless distro isn't doing Linux any favors. If I were a newbie, I'd be longing for Windows within minutes. Additionally, the settings are useless for troubleshooting, Samba didn't work, and you have to install a program to open a Terminal session. No thanks. Thumbs down.
