Solid advice which everyone needs to note. It's a shame that the original Doepfer spec didn't specify shrouded headers as that would have alleviated most probs :-) Also, I think the good designers/manufacturers have some sort of voltage recognition circuitry that will simply stop the module working rather than blowing it up. At least they should have.
Thanks Ian. That’s a really interesting point that I didn’t consider. You still see a few people saying they have smoked modules but I’ve never experienced it and it’s probably due to what you’ve just stated about manufacturers.

There's module testers for under 20$ for fresh builds or unsure of it. But gotta get the wiring/ plug direction right...I'll tell you what, if I use a supplied cable that they wired backwards- they're replacing that shit. The ones I've gotten cables only fit one way, if I use the one that comes with it and it only goes one way- and blows it, I'm returning that bitch. But yea definitely gotta get that stuff right, we used something we call smoke stoppers when first connecting a battery to a drone.
