Thank you for your question if they are flushed with the exterior, you would still do the exact same thing if you’re going to use these panels or you can do an accordion which sets it a little bit off the face and they are better than the panel system, but they do cost more. Thank you! What is the reasoning behind 6” space between tapcons? I bought used shutters from a company who gave me enough tapcons to do 10-12” and I did about 10” between all of them
It depends on the square footage of your panels that you’re covering the window, I like doing 6 inches because that is what your corner windows should be in rather than changing measurements on each window I just go at 6 inches it takes a little bit more tap cons but when I have an inspection I pass with no problem.
I’m not sure where you’re located but here in South Florida to install shutters we have to have a building permit and therefore the city inspector will come out and verify that we have done the attachments correctly. I hope this helps you and if you can leave me a thumbs up.
