How to install an axel back exhaust for Lexus IS and Lexus RC. There is a list below of the compatible models. The is a replacement for the rear section of the exhaust which would also be a muffler delete. There are links below so you can pick up this exhaust from Amazon. I hope this video helped you. 😂 honestly it sounds was better than I expected. It’s so low pitched and sounds amazing. Highway driving it’s quiet and nice so that’s a plus since this is my road-trip car

@@MTParadise and that’s the thing I don’t like over kill , and yes driving from Dallas to Austin sometimes the overly loud exhaust would kill me but this seems like a happy medium.

@@juanalanis5526 oh for sure. You really notice it at lower speeds like accelerating from a traffic light but it’s still quiet at 2k rpm on the highway

I am surprised, the larger tubing + muffler delete work great with the longer stock resonators. Really good tone from a 4cyl, nice job!!

Good video brutha! Nice work on your IS man! Whenever i’ve seen the videos where someone added the mid-pipe, i’m reminded why the axle back is all i need. This sounds perfect for a daily… Is there any annoying drone? It sounds great inside and out from your video. Great sound quality on the video too 👌.

Thank you so much. The sound is perfect and no drone. On the highway going 80, at just above 2k rpm, it’s almost silent. Accelerating, it sounds really good and it’s such a nice low tone

Ordered this exhaust about a week ago (prior to seeing your vid) for my 2018 IS300 (4 cyl turbo). Sounds exactly as I would have hoped ! Thanks for the vid. I may still have my local mechanic install it (as I'm not too keen on crawling under cars anymore). BTW, my exhaust comes with red hangers....well, they said it does (it doesn't arrive until mid February. 4 week delivery).

@@MTParadise Have the Remark muffler delete/axle back. Going on the car next week. Took forever to get here. Looking forward to getting it on. Off topic (sort of) question: what size tires/wheels are you running? As your IS is the same as mine, it came stock with 17". I want to upgrade to 18", but want to avoid any rubbing.

brother you should fix the rear diffuser so it lines up perfect with that filter that's its attached too. I know some people do it like how you have it but if you want I can show you how I have mines and how I did it. the exhaust looks great I have the same ones on mines

I spend hours going back a forth and decided on this position 😂 having it line up better would leave the leading edge more open to air coming in above it and at 100+ I’m afraid it would get ripped off 😂

Thank you. Yeah I figured I would risk it and according to the part numbers from Lexus, they are so same so I just pulled the trigger and it worked out 😂

Thank you! The diffuser is one of the $100 ones from eBay lol. The plain black is actually a dense rubber but I recently got a new one from eBay that’s actually carbon fiber.

I installed the same exact one and its so amazing. Now does yours get like a drone kinda sounds when you accelerate hard at around 60 mph? Mine does this but not at any lower speed. I tightened the bolts for sure well but Idk if its because I installed it wrong or if thats just how it is?

When I accelerate it has a really nice tone but I don’t have any bad drone. At lower speeds or in stop and go traffic it sounds like a have a V8 lol. I wonder if me having an intake and turbo resonator will affect the exhaust gasses making a different sound

It should be just fine still. It’ll just make it more rigid. I think they are just they to help absorb any energy from bounces or bumps

Are those screws with the coil suppose to allow the axle back to wiggle a bit even after being tightened down? I have the f sport perf axle back exhaust with the same screws but if I wiggle the pipe with some force it moves a bit where the gasket meets the downpipe. Is that coil type bolt suppose to allow for slight play or not move at all?

It might be to absorb force when you hit bumps so it’s not too rigid

Does the axle back need gaskets? I installed the f sport axle back to my RC but i have a bad rattle. My cousin said it is missing the gaskets but I didn't see ones when I took the oem ones off

My oem didn’t have any and neither did these. I just made sure to make them tight and I’ve had no issues

Not at all. I’m surprised how good it sounds. And on the highway just cruising, it’s pretty quiet but as soon as you get on it, it has such a good tone

Nope, but cat delete would as the O2 sensors are on the cats.

Did you get your car tuned after installing this? Just got the same exhaust for my rc 200t and I’m debating if I need to get it tuned, i don’t plan on doing any other major upgrades for a while

I didn’t get mine tuned but I still really enjoy it how it is. It’s my daily so I want to just do minor upgrades to keep that Toyota reliability lol

Nope, not at all. It’s just a muffler delete so it doesn’t affect anything or any sensors

This is already made to easily swap out and looks clean. Plus this is quick bolt on whereas a shop would likely cut the pipe and weld it back together and it would look sloppy and might cost the same anyway
