Actually good tutorial. I had it working before by myself but I didn't use MAC on Windows much. Now that I wanted to come back, I was having issues launching back up. This helped!
Finally, a guide that works lol, thanks, also I used the text posted in the description for the spoofing of the hardware or whatever he does to make it think its not a virtual machine in the VMX file, not what we see in the video (they're different).
my specs are AMD Ryzen 3 3250U with Radeon Graphics 2.60 GHz.,8.00 GB (5.89 GB usable) but every time i install and format and all that i cant get to the actual set up because it bootloops any fix and this is on macos Ventura workstation 17 pro and normal any fix?
Im trying to install mac os montery and ventura but when I am installing it after erasing the virtual hard disk, it says 14 minutes remaining/11 minutes remaining then it just freezes and doesn't complete. WHen i restart he VM, it boots up in the black apple logo screen that says "less than a minute remaining"
it doesn't work for me it says The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system. Power off or reset the virtual machine. My Specs Are Ryzen 5 3600 rx 570 msi b450 tomahawk max (Virtualization is on) windows 10 64 bit
I do everything the same as it does, when I turn on the virtual machine it starts fine but it doesn't go past the apple, it stays the apple and doesn't load...
Trying this on a 12700k with 32gb of ram and it's so slow I cannot even get the installation done. Every mouse click means a 5 second freeze, as does most any other interaction. I gave the VM 8 cores and 16 gigs of ram. It doesn't help. VMware Workstation 16 Pro Build 16.2.3
"The CPU has been disabled by the guest operating system". I take this error when I start virtual machine. please say how can i fix it. also i turned on virtualization in bios
I have a question so I insatlled it worked fine and my host pc turned off from a poweroutage Monterey ALWAYS freezes halfway when at the boot apple logo anyidea?
Is your processor AMD or INTEL? if it is AMD you need to insert the code in the file (.vmx): cpuid.0.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:1011" cpuid.0.ebx = "0111:0101:0110:1110:0110:0101:0100:0111" cpuid.0.ecx = "0110:1100:0110:0101:0111:0100:0110:1110" cpuid.0.edx = "0100:1001:0110:0101:0110:1110:0110:1001" cpuid.1.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0001:0000:0110:0111:0001" cpuid.1.ebx = "0000:0010:0000:0001:0000:1000:0000:0000" cpuid.1.ecx = "1000:0010:1001:1000:0010:0010:0000:0011" cpuid.1.edx = "0000:0111:1000:1011:1111:1011:1111:1111"
pls help I am getting this error message when I try to format the virtual drive: The operation on file "C:\Users edacted\OneDrive\Documents\Virtual Machines\macOS 12\macOS 12.vmdk" failed. If the file resides on a remote file system, make sure that the network connection and the server where this disk resides are functioning properly. If the file resides on removable media, reattach the media. Select Retry to attempt the operation again. Select Cancel to power off the virtual machine. Select Continue to forward the error to the guest operating system.
You are trying to run a virtual machine stored on OneDrive. Try moving your virtual machine to the local disk on your compute. Don't put inside OneDrive >>> C:\Users edacted\OneDrive
Everything worked great except your monterey iso.. I couldn’t get past “install mac os monterey screen after formatting the drive “ so i used another iso i downloaded in google, and followed the video.. installed everything well.. no more issues faced however ☺️☺️ thanks mate
why do none of these install videos show anything about having hyper -v enabled or disabled ? how to enable virtualization in the bois ? been on this for 2 days now all i get is virtual machine failed to start !
Probably a noob question but does anyone know if it's safe to sign in to your main Apple ID on a macOS VM? If it's unsafe, I'll just keep this just to mess with after making a new Apple ID. I would hate if I got banned or something like that on my main one seeing as how strict Apple is with their hardware, software and security...
What exactly is the unlocker thing for? I saw another tutorial where that step wasn't even necessary. Why are you using the old filesystem? You should use AFPS, that's the newer and more modern one that the newer macOS uses.
The installation went very smoothly thank you! I do have a problem though. There is a great deal of lag and the resolution will not increase even after installing VMware tools. This same lag would occur with my Hackintosh builds until the right GPU driver was installed. I suspect the graphics/GPU/driver could be causing the issue. I have a MSI laptop, 3070 RTX and my CPU is i7-11800H. 16 GB of ram, 8 given to both the native and VM. Any ideas? I would be very grateful :) Also as a bonus, know of any tutorials on getting imessage to work within VMware?
The lag issues are annoying and seem to happen no matter how much resources you throw at it. From what I'm told, most of it has to do with the OS being optimized for Apple hardware. I think I have a post on adjusting resolution, I'll get back on that. For iMessage there has been a little bit of success using a tool called spaghetti, you can find it on GitHub.
@@GEEKrarGuides oh bummer. I'm new to virtualization so maybe they're just a bit clunkier then. Your mouse in the video was much more responsive then mine so I was curious. You think it's worth trying a different Mac OS if they've changed newer OS' ability to work well with different hardware? I used High Sierra for my Hackintosh and it ran like a real mac.
@@Knowing-Jesus-Podcast ya actually Sierra was pretty solid when i installed that as well. it might be worth it if you dont need the OS to be up to date. i am gonna be install Ventura soon, we'll see how that goes lol
I don’t know if you’ve figured out the problem or not already but Linus Tech Tips did a video on using a dedicated GPU on macOS using a tool called Clover, I don’t know if it’ll work or not but it’s worth a shot. Skip to 9:30 on ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ATnpEOo3GJA.html
when i open the vm ware give me this error I use amd CPU Error while powering on: Value "“0.0†" for variable "smc.version" is not a valid integer value. Using value "-1". Failed to start the virtual machine.
I have a strange problem with the minimize yellow button. On any window if I press it, it takes about 30 seconds for the window to size down. It takes another ~10 seconds to open the window back up. Workstation 16.2.1 Pro. Host is Win 10, Core i7-8700k Coffelake, 16gb ram, the VM is 8gb ram. I tried a few different options for the processors and nothing fixes this. I also installed the VMware tools. I did not add those entries to the .vmx file until after the OS was installed. I also started with Big Sur and upgraded Monterey. I don't know if Big Sur had that issue, I went straight to upgrading it.
This is probably due to the horrible graphics memory the vm has. This is a problem on newer versions of mac os, since they are heavy on the graphics. Try installing something like catalina, high sierra or mojave.
Great explanation - thanks for sharing. Is it possible to access a VMWare shared folder from the macOS guest? I have watched other videos that suggest this should work, but I haven't been able to achieve it. Hoping you can advise. Thanks.
Thanks for the video and I was able to insall the ISO and VMtoools but my Mac OS will not reboot after installation. Any thoughts? I am using AMD processor
What Mac OS version is good for my Laptop Catalina,Mojave Big Sur what should I install it has an Intel core i5 2450M (2nd gen) a gpu called AMD Radeon 7400M plus Intel hd 3000 the official ram is 4 gb maximum of 8 gb but I have 4gb ram type is DDR3 a BIOS with mbr partitioning I have 480 gb SSD m.2 sata
Hello, the vmware I installed is running, but when I want to log in with my apple ID or update, it gives an error, but I can connect to the internet with safari.
For those with AMD processors wondering why it's not working, you need to add these lines to the .vmx file: cpuid.0.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:1011" cpuid.0.ebx = "0111:0101:0110:1110:0110:0101:0100:0111" cpuid.0.ecx = "0110:1100:0110:0101:0111:0100:0110:1110" cpuid.0.edx = "0100:1001:0110:0101:0110:1110:0110:1001" cpuid.1.eax = "0000:0000:0000:0001:0000:0110:0111:0001" cpuid.1.ebx = "0000:0010:0000:0001:0000:1000:0000:0000" cpuid.1.ecx = "1000:0010:1001:1000:0010:0010:0000:0011" cpuid.1.edx = "0000:0111:1000:1011:1111:1011:1111:1111"
Fantastic tutorial, thx! Could you please help me out, how to disable SIP (System Integrity Protection)? I've tried it in many ways but none of them worked on this VM. Thank you very much, in advance!
Finally, finally, finally... :) Typing from Monterey. I had issues with Virtual Box with Big Sur or Monterey, where it always got stucked on "less than one minute remaining". Only way, that worked for me, was this way through VM Ware Workstation. Yes, it's laggy, but great to meet Mac OS. Thanks! (Intel PC) Otherwise, I have one question. Is possible to run native Mac OS on Windows PC in dual boot? Like classic OS installation through bootable USB and installing on hard drive?
Great to hear! yes, there are issues with the installation on VB and fixing can depend on your pc. installing mac os on a pc is possible, and its called a Hackintosh. If this was challenging, then running it right off the pc might be even more of a challenge lol.. .anyway, check this out dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/ a lot of success here.

Hello, I’m too excited to try it but i was wondering if i can use my apple id to use all applications inside this virtual machine as mac os and if i can make a bootable ssd macos and use it without virtual machine. Thanks in advance
Thanks for this video, but I am having a problem, my is was installed successfully but when I restarted it, I just showed a black screen, and that was it...
I just have a problem that whenever I am starting to boot it for the first time the mouse is very laggy and my pc crashes as the mouse is so laggy so I can't download it
followed the steps.... thanks for that .... but for some reason im having issues with my apple id. it lets me login but i message fails to send using my email address. When i go into imessage preference>settings> my apple id shows but there is a continueous loading icon next the sign out button.any help?
my specs: intel core 17 7700 @ 3.6ghz, zotac mini version of nvidia gtx 1070@8gb, ssd for only os aka windows10pro, hdd 2tb for vm disks games etc. so when i try to install the mac os its so slow like the install took like idk almost 1 hour after the install its so laggy and after i restarted the vm it bootlooped
Thx for the video bud…. Everything is running pretty smooth except I can’t enable airplay mode, I’m using a razor blade 15.6 RTX2070 16gb ram. I was able to update with the newest Monterey 12.3
So I have a hop pavilion x360 convertible 14 and it has a i3 11th gen and 8gb ram but I downloaded everything and it keeps crashing and boot looping with the Apple logo also it did not show me the Mac OS option when trying to add it and I tried it on a other computer and Wi-Fi doesn’t work there is a code that you open in note pad and the whole thing is different if you want I’ll let you do whatever you need I’ll install quick assist and I’ll wait for you to control my pc
I followed everything step by step and when I power on for the first time I see the Apple logo but the loading bar never appears, even after 45+ minutes. I get an error saying the scm.version integer is invalid and that it instead used -1. Specs: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 RTX 2060 OC 16 GB DDR4 Ram Gigabyte B450 D3SH Wi-Fi Motherboard
Hey there, this is my second time to install macOS on my computer, things work, even on a working hackintosh, but slow. My problem outside of this is screen size. It's not a laptop, but a desktop computer, running 1920 x 1080. What info should be added to the config file to help with this?
Thanks for the installation instructions. It works but its just so slow. I think its meant to be run by a much more powerful PC with like 6-8 cores to spare or 10-16GB RAM to spare.
yea it uses a ton of resources, and dont always work well if you dont have enough ram and cpus available. either way its an interesting way to try out the OS if you dont have a mac.
I think a lot of the issues regarding performance are because we don't have a dedicated GPU for that VM. if you have any AMD GPU you can search about GPU passthrough it unlocks the full performance of mac os and sometimes even performs better than mac OS on Apple hardware.
