Thanks for this video... was stuck in that error message and this video tutorial got me forward... ran on another issue later on - not having big enough virtual HDD for my Virtualbox MacOS installation, but that is a different story! :)
Are yall using 4 processors? This maybe the thing as he said in the video, to decrease to 2-3 Contact me if you have anymore troubles!@@UnOrthodox_Christian
Been running monteray for about 4 hours now. Thanks for everything. Can't wait to get my mac and ipad to bad i can only give it 1 core. sucks but oh well
Hello, good instructions and follow up guide. I did run into an issue where it would not let me select more than 1 cpu processor. I was able to resolve the issue by enabling the virtualization in bios. Followed your video and completed the macOS Monterey in Oracle VirtualBox. Kind regards!!
Hello, I appreciate the video, and instructions, it is thorough and was able to create the VM to do some testings on it. Initially I was running into some issues trying to run the commands in cmd, then after I had another problem with the bootable loop while installing the macOS onto the VM but that was also resolved after running the VBoxManage setextradata "VM Name" "VBoxInternal/TM/TSCMode" "RealTSCOffset" command. PC Specs: OS. Win 10 Intel i7-3770 CPU Thank you all for your help, its a blessing
Even I faced this issue, actually it's not an issue related to your PC, it's the issue retaining inside the MacOS build. You can easily resolve this issue by changing your CPU to 1. I read some reddit and stackoverflow solutions, it says that this build is unstable with more than 1 CPU. I know that turning down to 1 CPU may not run at its full performance but it's better than nothing Oh, btw if you do find any other solution where you can run it with more CPUs, then please share it to me too ✌🏼
Good day! Please tell me, but you can put VirtualBox macOS Monterey12 on a virtual machine if I have a Windows 7 operating system.I tried to install it on a virtual disk, but it does not fully load for me, it remains about 14-12 minutes and the download stops
Hey, How do i get past the installation into setting up the mac screen? After finishing installation, it goes back into installation and doesn't get past it
great tutorial love it but, got one little glitch on my end have a screen that comes up with a switch slide of some sort like a lock button can't get past hat. any ideas ?
The line in the text file that has "VBoxManage.exe has incorrect double-quotes. I added the double :: at the beginning of every comment line and added a pause line at the end. Then I renamed it to a .BAT file so I can just right click on it and run it as an administrator. The "pause" lets me see that each of the 5 VirtualBox Manage commands had executed successfully or not. So far my Virtual Box 7 isn't letting me install Monterey OS yet as it always comes up to a command... err... Terminal prompt and goes no farther but I haven't tried some of the other suggestions in the comments so I will keep trying.
Any idea on how to actually make it fullscreen and not have a square screen ratio? Like the virtualbox guest edition cd does to windows installations after being run.
Click on view you can see it on the top once you click on view click on full-screen mode If you want to leave full-screen mode just click ctrl right and f for Mac and other os I don’t know only windows
I have installed the VM in my windows but want the guest to fill the whole screen. I have tried to install guest additions but that doesn’t work. I have also tried to force 1920x1080 through the command line but that doesn’t work. Any thoughts a video would be helpful
Configuration error: Querying "UUID" failed (VERR_CFGM_VALUE_NOT_FOUND). this is my error after hitting start. doesn't even boot to the setup. any ideas?
when I click "Install macOS Monterey" at 6:06 the button dims, and then nothing happens. I'm running an AMD system, but I've already spoofed the virtualbox into thinking I'm running intel any ideas?
I need some I have followed the instructions but I am getting this message and nothing happens (attempting system restart...mach reboot) could your help me please
When I install it once it’s done showing apple logo it says this can you give me any suggestions to fix this please? Low battery threshold is not specified! Defaulting to 0x32
After creating MacOS on VM it's showing MacOS beta version to download after downloading beta I can't even download apps on appsotre can any suggestion ? To get rid of beta verison
Thank you very much for making this video, unfortunately I was unable to get it running as when I go to start the machine, I'm met with a shell and it tells me to press ESC if I want "startup.nsh" to stop running I'd appreciate if you helped me out a bit
In the notepad there is a slight difference between the " " on VBoxManage.exe modifyvm “VM Name” --cpuidset 00000001 000106e5 00100800 0098e3fd bfebfbff try changing it to the standard " " it worked for me
This actually worked... If you're getting a booting error and it's not progressing AND also running AMD, include this command VBoxManage modifyvm "VM Name" --cpu-profile "Intel Core i7-6700K"
Hey, i have an AMD and after i spoofed it with the commands im starting my machine, im getting some codes but its not progressing and seems like its stuck. However im gonna try out your command now and try it again. If its not working, could u help me? Trying for 4 Days now.
@@shy8975 I could try helping, but honestly in the past I never had luck until I tried recently and was shocked I figured it out after all these years! It's not the best in performance as it's a virtual machine, there's some "lag", though that's probably mainly due to my CPU limitations, but it works! If you got discord, fell free to comment that and i'll add you and see if I can help out.
Good tutorial! Thank you! I had panic reboot issues during installation. In my case the solution was: VBoxManage setextradata "VM Name" "VBoxInternal/TM/TSCMode" "RealTSCOffset"
I am having the same issues. Where did you put this in to fix the problem? Is it something I have to put in Command Prompt or something else? Thanks. PC specs: win 10, 16 GB RAM
I couldn't get macOS Ventura to get installed in VirtualBox. It was stuck in a bootloop and after it ended up in installing, it got stuck in About 12 Minutes remaining. PLEASE HELP!!!
Hey man i got everything installed and followed your instructions. Only problem is its extremely slow man and I have a high end system for my host machine. Please make a video on the guest additions for this update or if you can help me improve the performance let me know. Its very slow.
If you have a good gpu that is supported by mac, you should look to run mac in kvm on linux host with your gpu passed to the vm. That's near native solution for a fully functional mac without the painstaking work required to setup hackintosh.
With virtualbox, you can not utilize you gpu in mac as virtualbox does not support any kind of 3d acceleration for guest mac OS, with KVM setup, you can pass your gpu, usb devices, and audio hardware to be used by mac natively.
i am running virtualbox 6.1.34 using a monterey ISO and i did the setup stuff, copied the vm name, and clicked exit to close. but there is no commandMacOS12 in my documents directory. what did i do wrong, or where do i find it. i am totally blocked.
Did you put a monterey file macOS like where it shows that disc or dirver idk is empty. If not then put that macOS file. I download the files and when i try to put them i dont find them and when i click all files i find it, click on it and it says that this file does not fit something like that
hey! did everything how you described and it worked as far as the installation. however it always reboots at some point and comes back to 29 minutes left. is there any way to fix this?
Hello, I was wondering if you would be willing to assist me in downloading macOS Monterey on Windows 11. I have downloaded it from my college's Blackboard and have run into an issue. Once I finished downloading, and opened it, an error message came saying "disk image file corrupted." My attempt at resolving this issue hasn't worked so far. I went to the Command Prompt to /Restorehealth under DISM.exe, but it didn't work. Let me know if you have the fix for this. Thank you so much!
does it work on AMD processors? Mine just shows a "EXITBS:START" Error solved: cd "C:\Program Files\Oracle\VirtualBox\" VBoxManage modifyvm "macOS Monterey" --cpu-profile "Intel Xeon X5482 3.20GHz"
Hi, I have an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G desktop, on an Asrock A320-HD mobo, with 12 Giga of RAM, without external video card, it uses 2 Gigas of RAM to run the GPU of the Vegas 8 video card. 1 NVME HD 512 Giga Adata Gammix, with Windows 11 installed. What happened?
Sorry.. i missed this ... for the boot error try this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uzf040D1b3s.html if you have any start up problems during the installation, try using only 2 CPUs for the vm.
After spoofing the VirtualBox settings with the commands you provided, I get a VirtualBox error when trying to start the VM. The error states "Unknown configuration value '/DeviceKey' found in the configuration of efi instance #0 (VERR_CFGM_CONFIG_UNKNOWN_VALUE)." with a result code of E_FAIL (0x80004005). I destroyed the first attempt and followed the steps again, being careful to ensure that the VirtualBox Manager was closed, and received the same result.

On some other foras I read that extra command: VBoxManage.exe setextradata "VM Name" "VBoxInternal/Devices/smc/0/Config/GetKeyFromRealSMC" 0 solves the problem. And it does - the problem you have. But then whole installation stops after some time. What I have is AMD Razor 5 4600H with 32GB RAM.
Use the SAME exact version that he's using. At the time of uploading this video, which is in December of 2021 the release that works with this tutorial is VirtualBox 6.1.30 .....
I am only getting an option for Mac OS X when creating the virtual machine. The Version is also only 32-bit and not 64. It doesn't provide the option for 64..
Hi, I have a problem with setting up the VM, I do everything until 6:44, where it turns into a black screen with the apple logo and a loading bar, and says that there is a estimated 27 minutes until completion, but after a few minutes the VM crashes and does the same thing over and over again. Do you have any fixes? Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 - 10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz 16GB RAM NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 I allocated 4 cores, 8GB RAM, and 80GB.
Hey, I had the same issue like you. I've tried to re run the installer several times but without success. What helped me was the following setting: vboxmanage setextradata "vm name" "VBoxInternal/TM/TSCMode" "RealTSCOffset"
hey, i have an issue if anyone could help. When i have 1 cpu the whole thing works fine. But if i put more than 1 cpu (2, 4, 6) it boots into desktop and then panic restarts. And if i try to install macOS with more than 1 cpu from the beginning, it always reboots and says '29 minutes remaining" with the apple logo. What could be wrong? Thanks!
this is an ongoing issue that i am trying to figure out. I am able to get it to work with 2 CPUs... right now i am trying to spoof the CPU (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-r2mboo9Xsvw.html) and see if different processor types work better.
@@GEEKrarGuides okay I see. when I put 2 CPUs it gives me an error after trying to install a program (xcode) and it shuts down. But more than 2 it doesn't even work. Also I use cpu profile i7 6700k
My VM only runs with 1 CPU. With anymore it freezes or gets stuck continuously restarting. I have an Intel 3rd gen code i5. Any ideas for a resolution to this?
ive gotton icloud unspported device, i assume this is cause by the name i added for the cmd, was thinking i could name it anything, or is this caused by something else ?
Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-1135G7 @ 2.40GHz 2.42 GHz Installed RAM 12,0 GB (11,7 GB usable) Cored 4 cores System : windows 11 64 bit Logical processors: 8 Would it run smoothly?
During installation still rebooting, any help? Thanks After a new installation, i reased disk, set new install, VirtualBox reseted and nothing was installed, it want from me same step again :(
if it continuously reboots to installation wizard, downgrade the CPU cores to 2. It should continue the installation. After its done you can push it back up
@@nexioscz ya, i had mentioned in the video that Apple ID doesnt work well, or not at all. In this case you can try using something called spaghetti, on github. some people have had success with it
For anyone who can't get past the initial wall of text and use an AMD CPU, use this command as well VBoxManage modifyvm "VM Name" --cpu-profile "Intel Core i7-6700K"
this could be related to how many cores are assign (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Uzf040D1b3s.html) i m still trying to figure it out
VMWARE is the right choice. It even has functional "VMWARE TOOLS" to give you Shared Folders and accelerated graphics performance functionality. Virtualbox it's ridiculously slow without any Guest Additions installed.
This is just an odd SEO thing I just noticed... I have your video and someone else's video (titled "How to Install macOS Monterey on VirtualBox on Windows") in my history. I installed Monterey almost a year ago using this tutorial because the other tutorial didn't work. I went looking for this video because I needed to do this again on my new pc; your video came before the other person's video on the history list, but I still ended up clicking their video first. For reasons I won't get into, I closed out of the tab with your video in it a few times over a few days and each time I re-opened your video, I accidentally clicked on the other person's video first. I think I subconsciously found the other person's title more down to earth and felt as though their video came from a person who cared, whereas I subconsciously saw your video's title as some cheap SEO to get easy clicks. I think "(2021)" and "Best Guide" were the main things that turned me off. This probably means nothing.. just thought it was interesting.
I have Lenovo Legion 5 with a usable RAM of 5.86 GB (even though the specs on Lenovo's website says 8GB). Currently, the Win 11 that's installed uses 4.5GB. So does this mean that I would be unable to use macOS Monterey on the virtual machine since it requires 4GB? Or does Monterey share the 4.5GB from my Lenovo?
in the Cmd type D: then press enter. after that in the commands note change the "cd C:'" (first command) to cd D: then continue on with the rest of the commands. hope it helps!
