Thank you, and yes it is fascinating to know how much electrical power is stored in these monsters. No matter how much we learn about science it is still going to be just a drop in the ocean of knowledge. So you are not ignorant, you probably have invested your time and efforts in a different field of knowledge that I know nothing about.

What confused me is that I thought Maxwell which is a very high end supercap manufacturing company did not include it's own circuit balancing voltage protection included in it's sealed packaging which the consumer shouldn't have to open in order to make it safe... I can understand if you buy the caps individually you would then do your own build using such a circuit otherwise why would I spend extra in buying a complete and sealed system???

The capacitors are mounted both in series and parallel the individual capacitors are 3000F 2.7V each, the combined capacity of the circuit is 1000F 16.2V total. Capacitors are not like resistors where the resistance increases when you put the in series, with the capacitors the capacity decreases when you put the in series. @@TECHNOLOGYTIPS101 Thanks a lot for your answer. I fully agree with you and I made a typing mistake each parallel is 6000F Hence the total is 6000/6 = 1000. But still the question I do not understand : You use - I understood - a voltage regulator for a capacity of 3000F , why not a regulator suited for 6000 F - that's the capacity at that point, or is the one you use good enough?

@@herriedejong6653 This is a voltage equalizer circuit that will equalize the voltage across all caps not to exceed 2.7V DC. So even 10 capacitors in parallel are still 2.7V DC. The circuit does not drop the capacitance only the voltage.
