In this video i will be showing you how you can set up the N64 Standalone Created By (DevModeUWP)! This is a Standalone version of RetroArch containing only the N64 portions of the app. Hope you enjoy !

Thanks for this video man, just got a quick question. I am fiddling round with the core option to try and get games to play widescreen and fill out my whole tv. I’ve fiddled round with all the options and nothing seems to actually change on the display. Do you have any advice ?

HD texture packs do not load, HTC and PNG, none.

N64 Standalone is very outdated at the moment, make sure to use the latest RA build github.com/aerisarn/RetroArch-uwp/releases/tag/alpha-2-resfix , alot of improvements for n64 in this version

Yeah the cover art downloader is broken and requires you to manually add them yourself, it’s easier adding them internally compared to externally because for some reason when you add the folders from a usb if it’s not set up the same way as the internal ones are then it just won’t read/use the folder, I’ll be making a updated video on this and hopefully by time it will receive a update to the app itself, what are the main issues with RE2? I’ll look into that and see if i can find a fix

You don’t have to do it internally you just have to format the usb or external hard drive correctly or the Xbox won’t read it right.

Managed to download it... it looks great and updated everything. BUT... every time i go into the E folder i cannot find my games. Idk what im doing wrong, can anyone give me a hand cause its really starting to piss me off (i tried with retroarch a ZILLION times and it only went stupid... wouldn't find games from my usb.. only if i installed them at the portal only)

great app much better than retroarch even though it’s basically a clone. but i got a few questions 1. how do i use saves for games? im guessing whatever save file i download has to be converted? 2. is there a way to make it in full screen? 3. how do i fix games like mario party 3 where some things in the game looks blurry, i cranked the anti aliasing up but didnt do anything. thanks

1. Hell yeah it just needs to be in .srm format for the saves! 2. Go into the Quick menu after you start a game, Click on GlideN64, Change your Widescreen resolution to 1920x1080 and also change the Aspect Ratio to Wide (Adjusted) and then press B to go back to begining of the emulator options and click on Manage Emulator Options and make sure to Save Game Options then restart the app and it should be good ! 3. Once you change the resolution up a bit it should look alot more clearer than it would normally! Lmk if this helps :)

i can confirm transferring srm saves dont show up and neither does messing around the resolution doesn’t seem to be changing much

I tried this many times , and i cant see my files on any letter drive 😔 i even made sure my drive was in ntfs format. Do I need a separate drive to put the folders in because my PS2 folders are on the same drive including 1 dolphin folder , and a xenia canary folder ?

besides formatting to NTFS, have you allowed special permissions to your usb as well? if not that could be it lmk
