This is a great video and very informative but honestly, it's a way easier job if you remove the lower facia.. I just installed this kit and removing the facia is very easy once you remove the reflectors out of the bumper.
Awesome 👏 video ! Those rear diffuser fins looks like OEM and honestly GM should’ve put them on... I’m guessing the ZR1 and Z06 come standard with them ? Kind of new to the Corvette world here... 😂. Definitely going to install these on my future C7 Stingray! When you were using a standard box wrench i was like dude you need a “ratcheting” style . I have a set and they’re ideal for that situation in tight spaces especially trying to film at the same time !
Would it make the install easier to just remove the facia? I removed it to do exhaust work and it was pretty easy. I also feel it would be easier to install the template if it was on a bench.
I didn’t like that they were not flush. Also they are angled out on each side. And yes I put the r on the right and the l on the left . Not sure if they were so posed to be like that ?
Is it a good idea to only use a jack and not jack stands as well? Also seems like a better way to design them when you don't have to be a contortionist or risk getting your head smashed. I bought them and I still remain hesitant to start a job like this but will try soon. You explain everything perfectly.
I just spend 72000 on a 2019 grand sport with 3000 miles. I am about to do this. After spending that extreme online store is the only thing I can afford haha
You mentioned that you may have a copy of the templates used. I purchased a set from a friend, but he lost the templates. Is there any way you could send me a copy. Thanks
@@mitch_9219 go ahead and email me at thecorvettechannel@gmail.com and I will see what I can do. If you can send me a picture of the back of one of them and I will be able to tell.
I see the fins are marked L and R….does L go on passenger side or drivers side? lol my instructions say 1 for passenger side…but my fins are marked L and R.
And the bolts that they sent me are not sms bolts they are hex bolts and im trying to see how are the bolts supposed to hold on to the fins since when i try to fit the bolt into the opening of the fin it slide out and in easily. Is there a problem with the bolts?
I got mine in from eos the other day, couple of problems. 1) they sent me the wrong self tapping screws.....they are too small. Not sure how that could happen. Emailed them and they said go get one size bigger. Okay thanks lol. 2) my fins are not marked. I dont know which one goes where...im pretty sure these are different sizes. My question is: any help on figuring out which fin goes on which side? Smaller fin on the inside or out?. Any help would be appreciated. Ps not a good experience so far with this company...pretty poor qc, and not helpfull at all.
I am sorry you experienced this. I noticed in one our recent installs that they are not marked and that they are all 4 the same. You should be able to confirm that by looking at them. As far as the screws go, I am not making excuses, but I am sure someone made a mistake sending you the wrong size, I know this is not what you planned on but it .as be faster to get the screws at Ace Hardware and get them on and start enjoying them. When I bought my ZR1 wheels the wheel shop sent me 3 different styles of lug nuts. So things like this happen. I'm sorry...
@@THECORVETTECHANNEL yes, you are right they are the same size (i actually took all 4 out and put them next to each other). However they are deff different in a way, like they slant a certain direction. There not 100% exact. So i gotta just trial and error until they look right i guess.
What the hell is the point of drilling when you can just double stick these things? My diffuser tabs have been lookin' good for 3 years with some nice 3M double stick holding them tight. Just sayin'.
