How to Install "Redi Shade" Temporary Shades 

Hi Blanca, The Redi Shades do stick very well and last a long while. You can purchase both light filtering and room-darkening types of these at Lowes and Home Depot. With the room darkening styles, you shouldn't be able to see inside at all.

Hi Jose, I recommend putting the adhesive on the window glass or trim and not on your wall. I found this information on the Redi-Shade website: The shades should be mounted onto a clean, dry, flat, smooth surface. We recommend using some rubbing alcohol to wipe the surface area down before full shade placement. This will not only prime the area, but will also help remove any residue from previous window treatments. We do not recommend the shades to be placed on a wallpapered, freshly painted (within 30-90 days), high gloss or textured surfaces. Drywall, bare, varnished or lacquered wood surfaces are also not recommended for shades to be placed on too.

Use 3M double-side tape. I 💖 these shades. Ordered a second set in white.

@@fixmyblinds Thank you for responding & I will listen to the link, but from what you said, I'm sure I do have it because we just moved in our brand newly house a month ago. Should I put tape the blinds to the window because I don't know how to do the wood like you did. Thank you

If you're hanging up Redi Shades, I'd put the adhesive onto the glass of the window. Do not put it on the wall. It will rip off the paint.

A sharp kitchen knife will do to get thru the first few layers and then you can finish the final cut with a pair of scissors.

I used heavy scissors.

Like the other person said, use a kitchen knife- but make sure it has a serrated edge on it and use a sawing motion. Works MUCH better than an exacto knife.

Gerrie, These are temporary shades designed to be used for a short time. They are tedious to adjust for sure.
