I have two questions: 1) What happens if I not connect the black cable form the power connector of the camera to the chassis of the car or any other ground connection wire? 2) From where do you had access with your hands into the rear bumber? Hello, I did not connect the black wire for "-" neither to this astra J nor to the corsa D, and the camera was working perfectly, it takes minus from the video signal from the RCA jack. I had access through the lower part of the rear bar, this astra J sedan has some access space there.

Thanks so much for your video, it was a huge help, not sure I could have done the install without it! Since installing the rear camera, my number plate lights have stopped working, and I get an error regarding the number plate lights when starting the car. Did you have any such problems? The bulbs themselves are fine and they are not fused so it is not a fuse issue. I believe they are controlled by the CANBUS. Thanks again.
Hi, I followed everything you done but I don't get any video on my display. Everything is wired up correctly but nothing Edit: managed to get it working. Just in case someone has a similar issue like mine. The issue I had was the connector that was on the power cable that connects to the camera power cable was faulty which I tested using a multimeter. I had to replace the power connector and it was working perfectly.
How does the camera cable goes from the back of the monitor to the back of the car? and im talking aabout, how did you pass it behind the wheel and under the pedals?
I used a 2.5mm2 multifilament power cable that I ran from the navigation to the pedals and the wire went down to the pedals, there I tied the camera cable to the power cable and ran it back to the navigation, i used a 2.5mm multifilament power cable because it's tougher than the camera cable that I couldn't get out of the pedals no matter how hard I tried. I tied the camera cable with duct tape to the cables that go over the pedals to cross that area and ran it down past the plastic to the left of the pedals.
It is optional if you connect to the brown cable behind the navigation (5:06) there is no need to connect to the reversing lamp. if you connect to the reversing light you no longer connect to the brown cable behind the navigation.
@@XoNGameDroid Its just tad bit confusing in the sense. I've seen some people say there is no need to connect to the reverse lamp if the car has parking sensors already. But if it doesn't you may need to connect to the reverse lamp
@@kierancarterrules If you don't connect the red power cable to one of the power sources (the reversing light or the cable behind the navigation) it won't work because the camera needs electricity to work. if you don't power the camera, the navigation will automatically switch to the reverse screen with or without the camera installed, just so you won't have a video signal
@@kierancarterrules It depends on the navigation, in my Corsa D the reverse cable was pink, but if it says back or reverse that should be it, you can measure it with a multimeter-voltmeter and if you have 12v when the car is in reverse, that is the cable .
I've connected speaker as the indicator sound comes through the speaker but as I reverse no sound and the lights on the screen don't change the nearer I get
