I put on a set of Rox and love them... I didn't go with the 2 inch but the 3.5 inch and that allows me to sit in a more relaxed position and this made a huge difference... as to filling gas I just unclamp the handlebars and slide the handles forward. Your question is probably how did I get the cables to reach... easy, all you need to do is remove the 30 MM bolt in the very front of the instrument cluster and remove the wire holder and you will have plenty of room where you will not need to remove the wires from the wire holds on the handlebar. It will also allow you to put as big as a 5 inch Rox riser.
Thank you Ron for such a detailed comment. I may get the bigger riser, to lessen my reach even more. I really appreciate the feedback. Have a great day and ride safe!
Hello Ron, I know this comment is old gonna try anyways. I just bought the Rox 3.5inch riser and after tightening the stock clamps onto the rox risers, they are still loose no matter how much I tighten them. Did you run into the same problem? If so, what did you do ?
@@hellspawn8572 Nope, tighten up nice and tight... but there is a secret to these... decide on if you want the gap in the clamp mounts in the front or in the back. I put mine in the front since I can't see them. Clamp the fronts or backs first until the clamp just touches the base of the matching clamp on the bottom. Then start tightening the opposite bolt and continue to tighten but do not over tighten because the aluminum of these Rykers are not the strongest in the world and you will strip them out. Yes, I know it's ass-backward to what most will tell you... where you tighten them equally. If this method does not work you can always sand the clamp down a tad but I have not seen an issue with needing this but it's an option.
Just picking up my 2020 Ryker 900 Rally tomorrow. Already i think i spent more on accessories then a down payment on a car. I am pleased to watch and respect your videos. Teaching me a lot before i pick up things to add on. Keep up the great videos. Very inspirational!!!
We put the ROX risers and the foam hand grips on today what an awesome difference in the ride comfort. Wrist are level and not down. The foam grips just adds to the comfort. Thanks for the how to. Retired Navy girl in Williamsburg VA.
Hi, newbie here!, I will be picking up my 2021 rally next week but I've been stressing the long reach. This video helped so much. I'm going to get the 3.5 inch ones, I want to be as comfortable as possible. I'm 5'1 and don't want to be leaning forward and stretched out. Again thanks for all your videos very informative.
Thanks for the video. Not only is that a great product, its made by some pretty spectacular people in a small town in Northern Minnesota. I too plan on visiting the fine folks at Rox's to improve my Ryker ride.. Swaggy
Thank you Bruce. I am not sure why that is. I have had the Rox Risers on for probably close to a year, and have never had a problem. But probably best to follow Rox's suggestion.
I can not get these to tighten down to where they won't still move. I got 7/8 bar and 7/8 clamp which is the correct size. This is the second pair I have tried. Anybody have any ideas or the same issue that they have fixed?
Interesting. I have had mine on for a while and no noticeable problems. I have to tighten the risers every once in a while, but nothing major. You may want to try using a rubber spacer. The kind that will wrap around the bar, then put the risers over them?
So easy to install. I could see that being a very popular mod and they look fantastic too👌🏻. The bolts definitely looked better after you sprayed them black. Ryde Safe Beth 🙏🏻
@@TheBorderRyker It's full on summer here, lots of rain and well over 37 c everyday! Ugh! I just ordered a cooling vest. I will try it out and if I like it, I will do a review on it (of course). STAY COOL, STAY WELL!
Ryker Rydes I’ve got a neck wrap and a hat😁. The neck wrap is awesome. But, although the hat does an amazing job, it looks like I’m wearing a tin foil hat that should have an antenna on the top. 😂😂. You too Beth.
Hello I am looking to rise my handlebars up more then closer to me. The video seems to make this closer to the rider however can the handlebars just simply rotate upward to make the handlebars a bit taller? Rather then forward just moving the Rox extension directly above the handlebar adjustment release. Is this possible?
Things have changed, this video no longer applies. Now there are Ryker specific risers. Different new bolts, new bottom clamp tops, different tools needed and different installation.
My used 2020 Can Am Ryker 900 ACE came with a Can Am Maverick Fairing and Rox Risers for 7/8 handlebars. The Risers will not tighten up so as not to move when static or riding. I also can't seem to adjust so I can access the Frunk. Suggestions? Guidance? Thanks.
Great review and install video. My only decision is whether to go with Rox or a cheaper version (found one for less than half the price - but it’s made for larger bars and uses spacer for 7/8” bars). Thanks so much for this, Beth. I always appreciate and enjoy your videos.
Paul, my thought when comes to holding my handlebars in place, don't look for a cheaper version. I went with a company that has been around for a while. Just my opinion. I got mine on sale. Every once in a while cycle gear gives it's customers a credit to use on their site.
Did you get the ones made for the Ryker? I just got mine and they are different than 7/8 ...on website says NOT to use the 7/8 ones. May want to look into it and maybe change the link to buy.
I will definitely do that. I have had mine on for over a year and never had a problem. But will change it to the correct link. Thank you for letting me know. Ride safe!!
Good Morning, I Like your Video's Thnx for that :) I wanted to Ask you Where you got that backmirror from thats in front of your Windshield. I'm from Germany i want that to :) Would appreciate if you could send me a link to it. Thnx Alot and have a nice day ^^
Hi Thomas from Germany (too cool)! Thanks for watching. Here is the link to the mirror video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mNd15bLvTr8.html
Hi Beth I would take a Q-tip put a little black touch up paint on it and go inside those hex bolts so you don’t see the silver. I know that would annoy me because I’d be looking out at all the time🤗👍🏻
Yup, I will definitely do that! It will drive me crazy too. Rustoleoum actually sells little bottles that look like nail polish, for tiny jobs like that.
Beth, does your handle bar move up and down after tightening up the screws? Mine got tight but with force or weight on the handle bar, it moves up and down. Don’t know how to fix it
Nice rewiew . There are not alot of aftermarketparts for the Ryker in Sweden and the most companies in USA will not ship to Sweden. And If they do you have to pay a tax and a rather high shippmentcost. But it is fun to see what is availible.
Boy Beth I believe I could use this. I’m 6’ 5” tall but have short arms. My Dad was only 5’ 9” but as a kid I wanted to play basketball and used to pray to be 6’ 10”. God was good and allowed me to reach 6’ 5” but forgot to give me the arms to match. So my arms are fully straight out as well. Would like a little bend. Thank you so much.
I was wondering how your Ryker does in the rain. I have the Rally with minimal fenders and a lot of seat spray. I was thinking about getting fenders for the back.
question have you had any weird pulling on the front tire when you taking Conner?? im having that issue,i check the tire pressure and is not that,im wondering if im the only one have that issue// OR IS IT aligment>? i need help .
No, sorry I don’t have that issue. You may want to bring it in and have it looked at. It may be just an alignment like you said or may need a new seay bar or just the medal links may help.
Hi Beth, did you need to create any extra slack on the cables to allow for a full turning radius (apart from undoing the cable clip)? They look quite tight at 8:22 with the bars in relative neutral position? As usual, thanks again for the video :)
Hi Beth I have another question. Sorry. I am looking to going to get a throttle assist. I saw you bought one for one of your videos. You put it right over your factory grips. I have the foam grips like you. I was wondering if you still have it over your foam grips?
Yup, I love my foam grips and especially my throttle assist (life saver). I have had the same pair of foam grips and my throttle assist fits nicely over it! I do recommend buying the throttle assist that is on my channel, some do not work as well over grips. LMK if you have other questions!
What is Slingmods talking about? …these are not supposed to fit? Their customer version is also about 10 bucks more. What the what? Do these work? Any problems with these risers?
Great product. Very familiar with Rox risers. Makes for a simple install when you have less levers on the handlebar and the existing wires are long enough to accommodate the extra 2 inches. Will probably be adding these to my ride in the future. Super helpful install and review.
I am familiar with this prodcut from my bicycles. I dont need my bars closer but would like them higher. This is a great way to do that without having to purchase new bars. Very cool, great video as always!
