Great job. I want ask you about the sand that you used. It is a special one for that job, or is any kind of sand. And where to get it. Thanks

It’s actually called paver base. It’s the same material you would put down before you lay pavers. It creates a solid base that won’t sink or shift over time when it is compacted. You can purchase bags of it from Home Depot or Lowes. Thank you!

I’m doing something similar, but with much less work. Existing patio, grout missing everywhere, rubbish slabs colour. Paint slabs with epoxy paint, kill remove weeds in between pavers, buy bulk “ grip fill adhesive” (U.K.). Squeeze in between pavers filling large gaps. Cut fake turf into fairly equal strips, doesn’t have to be perfect same size. Gripfill glue down fake grass strips. Bingo! Now just need a few dry days to get started! Love your much more pro job!

You can do it using the “dry-pour” method. To build a few small 3x4 concrete slabs, this method works perfectly when is done correctly, saving you a lot money and effort.

What is the base first weed bkock then a concrete aggregate and then sand in top
@hanoveroak
@hanoveroak Год назад
Yes, I put down paver base which you can buy by the bag at home improvement stores. Then I put the weed barrier. Then the concrete slabs. Then more paver base between the slabs and then the artificial turf. For large areas of turf, you would want to use a decomposed granite as a base. No sand is needed.

I’m not sure if anybody could help me but I am trying to install synthetic grass on the sidewalk side by the street I have an area 41 feet by about 4 feet I dug out about 8 inches because I needed the dirt for a big flower box I am trying to get a definitive answer as far as the fill I should use someone told me something called RCA ?
@hanoveroak
@hanoveroak 2 года назад
It depends on your goal. RCA stands for Recycled Concrete Aggregate and it definitely could be used as a base material under artificial turf - it's also affordable! If you have pets that will be doing their business there, it may not be the best option as the concrete pieces will absorb odors. Decomposed granite (DG) is considered one of the better options and provides great drainage, but it will be more expensive. For my project, I used paver base which is made up of crushed rock and shells. It worked great for my area because it was just narrow strips that won't really have much foot traffic. If you have a large area, I would suggest one of the other options I listed above. Hope this helps!
