I legitimately went through the whole process then got to the final stages and found out the motherboard port locations were to far for some of the cables to reach. Not just that they were pulled through making them short, no they were literally just fundamentally to short. I literally sat there in silence for like 20 minutes realizing I just had to reverse everything.

I have the same mobo and I got the dram problem as you did. It will work with one stick in the second dram slot but when I put the second dram card in, the dram light on the mobo lights up. Any idea how I can fix this?

TBH though it's not part of the hardware installation. Their should be some videos strictly on best settings regarding hardware. Tip, if you're transferring a HDD to a new system, make sure your BIOS/UEFI is allowing legacy input or it wont boot. (I know on asus MOBO you need to disable CMS and boom you're in)

Great guide. 1 thing to note, with windows 10 your product key is bound to the mobo/MS account. So if you dont have your MS account linked to your OS. Do so before swapping or your product key will not re activate. Or have your original key handy if you still have it. I usually stick them on the inside of the case for my customers but most people through them away after they activate it. .>.

How do I do this? I upgraded to windows 10 for free, so I have no idea how to do any of this stuff. My first PC was built by someone else, and they gave me a copy of windows. I got the free update though and it's a legit copy (as I've checked) I have no idea how to do this stuff you mentioned though.

Very useful and helpful video for all beginners! If I may, I would like to add a few tips. If you're swapping MB, take some pictures and a short video of the wiring, that's where most errors come from. In winter, because of the many layers of clothing, more static electricity accumulates, keep that in mind! All the best guys !

Man we should get free dental care! Wisdom teeth are expensive. I got all mine taking out and it was pretty rough, hopefully you get a good dentist. They gave me volume the first time and I didn't care what happened lol. The 2nd time was a little rough because I did not have the Volume and they just put me to sleep so I was a little nervous. Once you fall alseep you are good tho.

Omfg I’ve changed power supply, motherboard, ram, gpu, boot drive, cpu boots windows and temps are perfect, wtf is wrong? Is it my cpu? Day after I installed a new cpu I had problems. I thought if there was a problem with the cpu it won’t even post, but my pc crashes a few seconds to minutes after booting windows and no it’s not windows because I’ve reinstalled it multiple times. Please help.

So I have a question; if I installed a new motherboard on an older PC (replacing) and assuming everything is connected correctly, will I need to enter the bios to setup the boot drive or it will detect it automatically?

It depends. If you have Windows 7 or older installed, it will most likely crash since it would be trying to run on entirely different hardware. In that case, you would need to do a clean install of Windows. If it has Windows 8/8.1/10, the it should boot up. However, since as far as MS is concerned, this would be considered a new PC, you may get a Windows activation error.

Built my first pc last month without any prior knowledge other than half-hearted random advices or tips from friends. Ended up getting the cheapest B450 board that didn't have an ARGB header for the ARGB fans that I got. Really ugly board in the Asus Prime B450m-A. To think I was initially content with getting an A320. Bought multiple accessories to accommodate the fans (rgb splitter, fan hub, argb adapter, etc.). Now, a month later, I put up a build that I should have gone for instead of cutting corners. Little did I know that I would be spending twice as much as my initial budget mostly on unnecessary accessories that could have been prevented had I known what I know now. I'd love to go back and get a better cpu, motherboard, gpu, and full modular psu. :((

I want to buy a cheap pre built PC and swap out the parts with more powerful parts but I'm clueless when it comes to this stuff but it is the cheapest option

I'm upgrading my mobo and can I use the same window from my old build on the new board? Is it as simple as plugging in my SSD and then it boots up? I read some of the comments on this video, and people are saying I need my old activation key which I have. Do I need to go to the bios? Please someone explain in depth it would mean the world.

Well, Im pretty sure you MAY need your activation code I heard that if you change the parts out it can unlicense your windows but I wouldnt worry about it too much but to get to the bit I think I know better. You just should go into the bios make sure everythings working and showing up, also if your memory (RAM) uses XMP you need to enable it in the bios. Now for booting into windows if you have multiple drives or even if you dont, just check that the boot drive is selected to your SSD in this case. I think that sums it up, hope you enjoy the upgrade my man. Finally upgrading from an FX-6300 to a Ryzen 5 3600 so pretty exciting sh*t 😂

Ok, touching metal does not automatically ground you, touching your pc case, when the psu isn't plugged in does not ground you, touching a metal table that's standing on a wood floor does not ground you.

Getting a new cpu soon. Discovered ddr5 ram is required for it and so i need a new motherboard also😅 lots of money going to be spent but hopefully it'll be worth it

I know this is an old video but I need help. Many reviews for this board on Amazon claim that it does not support 9th gen intel cpus out of the box and an 8th gen one is needed to update the bios first. I am wondering how it went with a 9-9900k since it was a 9th gen cpu (I’m getting the 9700k)

Small tip, if you have a cpu with pins, do not keep those pins on tables when you are cleaning the thermal paste

If im exchanging B560 for z590 and the prosessor is i7-11700KF without onboard graphics. Will my windows recognise new motherboard and will I atleast have video. Using RTX3070 GPU. PLEASE give me some clues maybe I can prepare my windows downloading new mo boards driver before starting. Using windows 11 which i bought with prebilt pc and it was win10 which updated to 11 for free at some point. Any help appreciated Thanks.

Will my previous HD files and setting automatically sync with the new motherboard? I’m trying to keep the files/settings, and just swap the motherboard. Or is there another step I need to do after swapping?
