Hello, I installed the fan, your instructions helped a lot. However, even when I only want the light to be turned on, the fan spins around at the lowest speed (all three fan cycle levels light are off on the remote).
The lights on the remote only light up when the buttons are pushed. Make sure the fan is not set to low speed using the speed button to cycle through the speed settings. One push will light all of the lights (high speed), then another will be medium with 2 lights, then press again for low speed one light. Press one more time and no lights should come on. That will let you know that the fan speed is off. If the issue persists, we would suggest calling Hampton Bay customer service at 1-855-434-2678. Their team is pretty good at troubleshooting.
How can I wire it to use a separate switch for the light and a separate one for the fan? I have both black and red HOT wires and two switches already installed.
@@heatherdunn1050 We would recommend just wiring the receiver to one of the on/off switches. That would allow you to turn the fan/light on or off using the switch and retain complete control of the fan via the remote. If you wanted to use a speed switch, you would not be able to use the remote in conjunction with the switch. You could install without the remote and connect the fan's speed power wire (black) to the speed control and the light wire (blue) to the other switch. To do that, you would just need to cut the wire harness plug from the fan wires in order to separate the wires to be able to connect them to the switch wires.
How slow is the slow speed on this? We are looking for one that is slow as possible. We have one similar and on #1 it spins too fast for sleeping, it dries your eyes out haha. Anyone???
There is an alignment post that may be stopping the canopy from twisting off. The alignment post is shown at the 3:23 mark. You have to loosen the canopy screws enough so that there is enough room for the alignment post to exit that hole and allow the canopy to twist off.
