In this video I’m installing the Ford Performance RIGID 360 Series 4" Round Lights on a 2021 Ford Bronco.
Chapters:
0:00 - Intro
0:12 - Ford Accessories Part No
0:17 - Unboxing
0:44 - Hardware Installation
4:25 - Running Wires into the Engine Bay
5:27 - Wiring Installation
6:28 - Hiding the Wires
7:05 - Powering the Lights
9:32 - Turn On the Lights
9:55 - Custom Light Covers
10:16 - Outro
This is a fairly easy install, everything you need is in the kit, however I chose to add felt to the base of the mounting brackets to protect the cowl, and to paint the included hardware black.
I also used my own butt connector when wiring the aux wire as I crushed the one that came with the kit. (Always good to have in hand)!
Aside from that, very easy to install.
Here are the products I used:
Part No: M15200KBML
accessories.ford.com/products...
Here is a cheaper listing for the Rigid Lights:
amzn.to/3OsuHLV
Additional butt connectors:
amzn.to/3rrYVEz
Heat shrink tubing:
amzn.to/3rScwFN
Hope this video helps you out.
Enjoy!

Fantastic video. Received my Rigid lights for Christmas and installed them using your instructions. It went well. The cowl was a bit of a struggle but was able to overcome it. Ford also should have given us more wire to work with for the switches. Thanks so much! Looking forward to more videos in 2023.

I agree with Justin, best install video on RU-vid for this. You make it look so easy, but it won't be for me, hahaha. I will do it anyway, as my dealer wants 2 hours @ $150 an hour. Subscribed!

Wow, thank you, I really appreciate the feedback! Believe me, it really is pretty simple. I did it differently to the Ford instructions in a couple of ways. I routed the wires differently, I chose to go under the cowl for a cleaner look. The Ford instructions want you to go between the fender and the door, but there's a lot more exposed cable and a chance of rubbing paint off the door. Secondly, they want you to ground each light on each side fender, instead of running the extensions across to one single point. That saved some time doing that as well. And hiding the wires under the cowl literally takes less than 5 mins, but makes the install look so much cleaner. Good luck with the install!

Hey thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. Glad you found the video useful. To answer your question, these were the first lights that I installed on the Bronco and they come with a 30A fuse. I hooked them up to AUX 2. I now have Oracle Fog Lights on AUX 1, a LASFIT Light Bar on AUX 3 and LASFIT Rock Lights on AUX 4 and AUX 5. I don’t have plans for anything high pull like a compressor or winch at this time. Also planning on quick disconnects so that I can just switch out whenever I want as I test new products. Hope that answers your question. And thanks for watching!

The Aux switches have 3 different fuse/amp ratings, 1 30amp , 1 20amp and the rest are 10amp. Ford gives you a chart to match up the upfitter wire colors w/the switch. They also ran wiring to different areas of the Branco , the chart will give the locations.

Thanks for watching, appreciate it. Yes, my kit didn’t come with the washers either, so I just used a couple I had laying around in my garage. Unfortunately I don’t remember what size they were, as they were just random left over ones. I’m not sure why they aren’t being included in the kit as they are definitely mentioned.

What colored wire do you suggest using for four of these? I have dual 360 pods with back lights. I understand I will run the back lights to a separate switch.
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN 2 года назад
If it were me, personally installing 4 of these, and not intending to use an AUX switch for any other high draw component, I would use either AUX 1 or 2. They have the highest rated performance and slightly thicker wire. But you can use any of 4-6 as well. This page gives a great guide to work with: thebronconation.com/how-to-use-the-auxiliary-switches-on-your-bronco/

Yeah, I don’t see why not. It’s a single bolt installation on the cowl. Alternatively you can purchase separate mounting plates if you want as well. I have a video showcasing some SevenSparta ones on my channel.

@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
Hmmm, you might be able to reach out to Rigid and see if they will sell the wiring kit separately. If not you might go to somewhere like Ace Hardware and see if they can match the wires coming from the lights.

My bolts are just lose for the lights on the mount. There are fasteners but don't fit between them Edit after a few moments of pondering I realized you drop them in the plastic tabs that screw into the back of the light.

@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
Thanks for watching the video, I appreciate it. As for the covers, I am not a professional vinyl company or anything like that, I just do it for a hobby. Due to the concave nature of those covers, it’s a really tricky install and it’s actually two layers of vinyl, so you have to do it twice in each cover. I’ve had several people ask for them, but I don’t want to end up being responsible when they don’t go on the covers easily and have to go back and forth with issues like that. Took me a couple of tries to get the ones I did right!

How long did this take to install. Looks like 60-90 min?
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! To be honest, being as I record all of my installations, the time frame goes out of the window, setting up shots, recording, re-recording (and even re-recording again!) so it’s a tough call. However, thinking about the install, putting the lights together, if they are done off of the Bronco, and then mounted to the cowl, that’s about 15 mins. Then the wiring is about another 20-30 mins. I’d say about 45 mins total, an hour tops. Hope that helps, and thanks again for watching!

Okay, first... thank you. Your video was very helpful in my installation of these lights. Second... I'm not a novice to auto electric, but... what a freaking pain in the @ss! Installing the lights was fairly simple, though the screws they give you are somewhat lacking. And it would have been nice if they'd thrown in a cheap hex key. But the wire CONNECTORS... holy hell. I don't know how you made it look so easy in this video, but twisting two wires together as tightly as possible and then trying to fit them into the connectors DID NOT WORK. They were too thick. WTH. I used a different kind of barrel connector and ring terminals, but it was very frustrating. Also, would it have killed Ford to give us a few more inches of wire to work with on the AUX switch connectors? Finally, shoving the taped wires under the cowl was NOT easy... it barely fit. If I had to do it over again I'd have run it through some techflex sleeve or split loom and zip tied it to another wire. Freaking heck.
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
You are welcome, glad you found the video useful! In the video I used my own butt connector, as you said I found the ones provided a little small for the job. I did use the ring connector provided, that worked well. I agree with you on the AUX wiring as well - that would be nice if there were a few more inches of each to play with. What if the first connection doesn't work and you have to cut it off... you are then getting real close to the firewall. I honestly didn't have an issue running the wires under the cowl, in fact that's a reason I suggested it, as it wasn't a challenge. Sorry to hear that you didn't have the same experience there. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!
@supermike0822
@supermike0822 Год назад
@@CUPRADESIGN Thanks for the reply! And I did manage to get it under the cowl, so it’s hidden, but I fear I’m stressing the clips a bit. Time will tell. But overall they look great and work, and I followed your advice on not running them through the door as Ford recommends. I agree that’s a much cleaner look. Again, I appreciate the helpful video! (Side note to add - I was disappointed to learn the Ford Performance version of these lights do not have working backlights. I was hoping they did.)
@CUPRADESIGN
@CUPRADESIGN Год назад
@@supermike0822 Of course, I actually try to reply to everyone when I can! That's great that you managed to get them hidden under the cowl. It does look a lot cleaner. You might look and see if you can poke the wired a little further under the cowl, it kind of has a 1 inch lip at the front and when you get the wires past that, there's a lot more space for them. Might be worth a look, if I remember rightly its only like 6 clips to pull up - especially if you're worried about stressing them. And yes, the Ford Performance ones are the 'basic' design, but have the wiring harness included to get them set up with the AUX switches, (and the custom 'Ford Performance' covers - which as you saw I covered up anyways!), the RIGID Lighting version of the same style of lights are available with different colored back lighting, but don't have the Ford covers, and don't have the specific wiring kit for the Bronco with them either. I had looked into this before buying them too.
