HOW TO INSTALL THIRD AGE TOTAL WAR MOD 

I need help with vanilla enhancements mod for Alexander mod.

Which mod is that? Its a submod for Alexander mod? For which game?

I believe I did mention it, but its alright the expansion is pretty cheap on steam!

Ok, but without renaming it to crusader.. were you able to launch the game at all? or is this purely a routing issue where it won't launch now that it is renamed?

It used to be that Med2 and the Kingdoms Expansion were separate games. Now, the definitive edition includes both. Either version will work.

Hmm does it work when you launch the third age through it's exe file (one with the two gears) in the third age folder? try naming the TA folder to "teutonic" and the teutonic folder to "notteutonic" or something like that.

It turns out I had two separate steam folders in different places, so although I changed the names and put in the third age mod in one steam folder in programs 86, I didn't in the other location. So steam must've just read it like normal from the other location.

Well go into your third age "saves" folder and remove your campaign before reinstalling. Then uninstall both third age and med2 and reinstall it. A fresh install should fix any issues that have come up. Then put your campaign back into the saves folder.

Real quick question. Is it worth downloading "divide and conquer"? Is it slightly different? What sets it apart from Third Age? I'm thinking about downloading it I was just wondering.

If you want campaign DaC is the mod for you. The campaign is very well done. If you want more multiplayer focus go with reforged.

Yeah sure I'll send you my Third Age folder. Make sure you have Winrar installed to unpack the file though.

I'm not too sure but I dont think the historical battles are done yet? Might be why they are crashing.

Yes delete your "battle preferences" folder that should do it.

Hmm I haven't encountered that yet... try going into Third_age_3/Data/World/Maps/Base and delete the file Maps.rwm. That may work. If not, make sure that all your packs are in the right folder. If they are in the wrong one it won't work.

So you renamed third age to british_isles and it launches med2. Did you make sure to type "british_isles" exactly? If it's a spelling error it won't work. Also are all of your third age downloads in the correct folder?

Before i found your video i tried this way: 1) downloaded the files in the wrong chronological order by dowloading the last file first 2) all these files end up in medieval 2 total war folder 3) after watching vid, I uninstall the game and the files of thirdage to try again 4) i install the thirdage first 3.0 secnond 3.0 part 2 then lastly 3.2 into a new folder i called thirdagetotalwar 5) then i install the game with kingdoms dlc 6) i transferred the thirdage folder into the folder you told your youtubers to place i changed the the name to british_isles and the the other notbritish_isles 7) start the game still no luck as it showed a normal menu

Heinrich von Schwartzenburg you said in your instructions you put in med2 folder. But that's incorrect. It needs to go in med2 mods folder. And yes the naming is correct... have you tried launching third age through the exe file? It's the little file with two gears and can be found in your third age folder.

sry i think i did not typed my comment ina detaled manner. I did transferred it into the mods folder of med2. And I could not access the two gears file at all. it says the windows could not find kingdoms.exe anfd told me to type the name correctly. that's the error message.

and also before i found your vid. i even tried accessing the ring logo on my desktop which says thirdage totalwar. which looks like the actual launcher. it also gave the same error message as above.

Just click on your Local C drive and then in the search bar search "Medieval 2" see if it finds where it is located.

I dont need to explain it... when you extract the files they should all be there. If they arent something is wrong with your downloaded files or installation process. Delete your download and redownload the files. Then reinstall. If it still doesnt work email me and I will send you my TA folder.

It should populate the saves folder once you save a campaign or replay... as for the data folder, try running the game and then closing it... does it populate? If not might have to reinstall I feel like the packs folder might be important...

@@CelticWarband I suspect your correct about them being placed in the folder after start, I know for certain that the saves folder appeared after I made a save, though I will admit that I have forgotten wether or not "packs" has appeared. Since I'm on mobile, I can't confirm it, but will attempt to do so ASAP. Thank you sincerely for your video, and even responding despite the age of the video.

It sounds like the mod only installed partway. Try reinstalling it.

You can it's a pretty massive change. But it's not necessary.

Have you tried redownloading the mod?

Divide and Conquer is a submod. So it is installed over top of the Third Age mod. Reforged, however, is standalone. So it is its own mod. It doesn't need Third Age for it to work.

Hmm did you name third age as "british_isles" and then make sure to change british isles to "not_british_isles"? If you didn't do that then it crashes bc two folders are named the same thing.

I think that it doesn't run well/at all on Mac OS. It's optimized for Windows.
