This product, at about $20 a roll, is very effective at preventing bird strikes and is much more visible from the outside than it is from the inside looking out.
squito94 thank you, this system a great system and once installed they only reduce our vision by 2%, they’re on the outside of the window and tend to disappear. Very affective. 😊😊 thank you. Bob, 👍
I was disparate to find something to prevent bird strikes at my home. I put up a bird feeder and had been feeding birds about a month when I started having bird strikes. One day I had three bird strikes and the last strike killed the little bird. I ordered these dots but needed something that I could do immediately. I had a roll of 1/2 inch painters tape so I put horizontal lines of tape about every 4 inches on each window, from the inside. I cannot reach my windows from the outside. It completely worked, I've had no more strikes. I applied the tape to 4 very large windows for about $5, I will replace the tape with the dots once they come in, maybe.
Awesome, way to go, anything to break the reflection, how far away from your window is your feeder? Feeders show be either close, like a foot or two or 10 to 15 feet away, it’s that middle zone that sometimes creates strikes, congratulations on getting it done , 👍👌😊 , Bob,
Bird decals have been worthless at my house. Far more effective is to hang 2x2 inch netting of the sort used to support garden plants, across the windows. Leave a 6 inch gap between the netting and the window glass. The birds see the netting and if they cannot divert in time their impact is greatly reduced by the netting. Even with birds that are pursued by sharp-shinned hawks the netting is a life saver. The netting lasts for years and it has reduced bird deaths at my primary window by 100%. The netting cost me $20 and I have enough to replace the netting if needed many times.
A few points to follow with the window alert product. They all need to be installed on the exterior of the window , in a tight grouping starting in the middle of the window. They also have a shelf life, the UV from the sun decreases them over time and that become less effective , generally 8-12 month , depending on the amount of time in direct sun light. They have worked very well for people, the new Feather Friendly product give much better coverage and last longer. Both are available on our website , thanks , Bob
