Works! I kept a list of notes with the order of disassembly. My Z235 was a bit different, but still similar enough. I did use my floor jack to lift the new tranny in place. I didn't tighten most of the bolts till I got all of them in and the nuts started. Helps with the necessary wiggling.
Thanks for your videos. I have a transmission to replace on my Z225 today. Watched your video for tips. It is helpful. I'm considering using a screw type heavy duty jack because like with your hydraulic jack, it tends to be less controllable on the dropping the mower. I have a Husky battery operated ratchet that hopefully will do the job.
I have no idea if fluid is already in your transmission. You can take the fill plug off and take a look. Check out my hydro fluid change videos and you can see how they are setup
I have a John Deere Z535M and right side will not move forward or backward. Happened without any warning. Just finished the yard and right side suddenly stopped working. Left works fine. Right handle has no play in movement, moves just like the left side. Has oil and no visible leaks. Hoping I don't have to replace the whole transaxle. I did notice when I have the engine running and both handles in forward position, left moves and right doesn't. I can move the right side hub forward and reverse like it's in tow mode. Same when handles in reverse. When I turn the hub, it feels like it's moving inside the transmission. It is a sealed transmission. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank You Sir.
This video has everything I know about those transmissions. Good luck! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S9JZtya3qsM.htmlsi=v8g_wLWUfIpGCsQ7
@@MowerMike sure are. I've seen many tuff torq k46s. Great transmissive..I am in Australia, not sure if that makes any difference..I do now that tarryl fixes all also repairs rider's with tuff torqs.
@@malerics3210 I have repaired alotttt or riding mowers and never had an issue with those transmissions just the zero turns. I know there are a bunch of videos on them out there you can watch though until you go blind. Good luck
really helpful video about the transmission installation. Are you also interested in talking something about small engine repair? Hipa make and sell parts for small engines. Maybe we would collaborate?
