Eye tracking, or gaze interaction, is a technology used to see where a person is looking on a computer screen. It can also be used to control a computer with your eyes instead of using a traditional keyboard and mouse, enabling individuals with physical and cognitive conditions to access software that can generate a speech output.
A lot of people assume anybody who is using any sort of wheelchair must also have either intellectual disabilities or dementia. My friend had become non- verbal because of aphasia, and I felt lucky to use her tablet to communicate.
Most reactions from people are due to their own insecurity about the situation. Holding that against them seems like equally bad to me. Tell them and if they still act weird, THEN it's on them. But you also know by then you can just move along and forget about it. This clip is a weird way to tell people who genuinely don't know how to deal with a situation that they're doing it wrong. Instead of just tell them.. well.. yeah: Directly.
Great point! We hear what you're saying. This caused us to reflect and add a note about this in the description of the video. Our goal was to educate, but can understand the angle you brought up. "We understand these types of interactions are well intentioned and stem from people being unaware. The goal of this video is to raise awareness in a fun and engaging way. People shouldn't feel ashamed if they have interacted like this with someone before, because it's the intention that matters. Even though we may not like these types of interactions, we know they are coming from a good place. Hopefully our message combined with people's already existing good intentions will create a better interaction for both parties 🫶" Thank you for your comment and allowing us to see that side of it 🙏
