I have my first meeting with the team this Wednesday and to be honest, I am slightly nervous just because English is not my native language and it will be my first job in English circumstances. I hope I'll perform well. Thank you for your advice in the video.
1. An Introduction about yourself,i.e., past experiences, skills, hobbies, etc. 2. Show enthusiasm and smile. 3. Open Body Language. 4. Suitable dress code. 5. Follow up with your new colleagues.
Excellent tips on how to introduce yourself virtually. Body language and enthusiasm are so important for the virtual setting since, as you mentioned, you won’t be seeing these people in the hallway to get to know them better. It’s great to come across as someone with a joy for the job. A follow up email is also a brilliant idea to solidify the connection.
Thanks for this tips on doing an introduction virtually. Practicing what you want to say is definitely a big help. Coming up with something interesting to add that is out of the ordinary introduction items is also very smart...so people will remember you. Leaving a good first impression is really important.
Online schooling has become a part of our life, it has some benifits also, we notify you respected sir/madam that in this covid 19 situation try to admit your child in a virtual school.
thank you for the great video! great tip as I am starting with a new team this coming week. Aside from the tips you've mentioned, do you think it's good that we set proper expectations regarding any mannerisms I have that some may find offending? Thank you!
Thanks for watching. Regarding your question, it is difficult for me to answer because I don't know what the mannerism is. That being said, if its something that you feel may offend people and you don't have control over it, doesn't hurt to bring peoples attention to it so they know its not directed to them. Cheers!
Hi Adriana I have challenges with bringing theory into practice is a humane way. Your videos helps with the softer side of theory and I personally think your videos should be the starting point for anyone struggling with the personal soft skills side of PM. I find so much value from your very powerful short videos. Thanks!!! I have shared it with my peers and fellow PM's in the industry. Regards Willem (PMP)
Thanks for sharing Adriana. I am starting a new job soon in a new company and was just wondering about the "follow up" part. What if you're introducing yourself to a big team? like lets say over 200+ people? any tips on how to approach this? My new role requires me to work with and across multiple different teams in the organization and not just one team in particular hence why I am asking for your advice. Thanks for your help.
Congratulations on your new job! With a group this big you can always follow up with an email. You can then spend time with each individual team in say a teams meeting to get acquainted. Hope this helps. Wishing you the best of luck. Cheers!
Hi Adriana, It would be very helpful if you share some tips on - How do we introduce ourselves externally/International in front of clients (what to say and what not to say). If possible please share some videos on -How to handle difficult questions where you are unsure about the answer? in the virtual meeting calls with the international clients
That would be a very long introduction then lol! Pick 2 things about you that would spark additional conversation outside of your introduction. Something your colleagues would want to know more about. Thanks for watching, cheers!

Im now employing 4 full time remote Filipino staff through Manpower Genius & Upwork... hiring 4 staff cost LESS than 1 staff in the UK so its been a no brainer. I honestly find it easy to start a virtual meeting than a real life meeting.

Hi ,Thank you! Very cool stuff... Can you pls tell, what did you mention @2:47 “so much so just ask me about my “.....” system? I didn’t get that word pls.
Such wonderful and warm spirited approach! I can't believe a shy person such as me is commenting and appreciating! Thank you very much Adriana Girdler! If we meet any point in time, please give me the chance to have a cup of coffee with you. Stay well!
These are helpful tips for most of us!! Yes, keeping it short is key. So don't read my resume word for word? haha Can you imagine! Don't be dull. Always enjoy your videos, Adriana!
Thank you for this video, helped me understanding because tomorrow is my first day and I was a bit nervous. I wanna learn so many things from you. You are awesome !
It isn’t rocket science guys. Just give a basic background about yourself (name, what you did at your prior employer, city or town you’re from and what you aspire to accomplish with the team) thats all. I disagree with her on practicing. No need to practice especially if your virtual team is small.
Hi Mauricio...absolutely correct...this is not rocket science BUT can be challenging for a lot of people. Regarding practicing your introduction, it will be up to every individual to choose whether or not they want to practice their intro or not. I find if people lack confidence then practicing can help. Thanks for watching. Cheers!
