When making amigurumi like your making a ball can you just make. A magic ring then increase all over until it becomes a ball or do you need to do invisible decreases and stuff
@AMenagerieofStitches
@AMenagerieofStitches 3 месяца назад
You’d have to start with increases to make the curve of the ball so you would do a combination of single crochet and increases. Then at the end you need to do a combination of single crochet and invisible decreases to round out and close the piece. Hope that helps! 🩷

The invisible decrease I was taught was to put it in the back loop then go under both 2 stitches and pull it through then yarn over & pull it through 2 loops then yarn over again & pull throw the remaining 2. Mine we're visible. I saw crochet comps and saw that other peoples amigurumi look like the magic circle after sealing it off. Yours was Better at explaining!!

Can you do it for the other types of stitches like double, treble, half double, crochet?
@daranarazz
@daranarazz Год назад
How would I use this though? Is it just so that the decrease is more seamless? Can I do it everytime there's a decrease? Thank you
@AMenagerieofStitches
@AMenagerieofStitches Год назад
You can definitely use this for every decrease. If making a regular decrease, on the finished piece you can see where the decrease happened. The invisible decrease makes it so you can't see it. An invisible decrease is great for pieces made in the round. I also always use a regular decrease on flat pieces instead of this method. Hope that helps!

mine inverted and i can’t insert my hook the way you do because it’s on the outside…i don’t know how to explain but i’ve not been able to get help on how to fix it
@AMenagerieofStitches
@AMenagerieofStitches 5 месяцев назад
It sounds like your piece might be inside out (meaning the right side of the work is on the inside instead) When working in the round for amigurumi, the piece will tend to curl in on itself. All you have to do is correct it so the side facing you is always on the outside. I have a video on my channel that shows the right side/wrong side that might be helpful for you! ♥♥

Wait even when not increasing or decreasing I go through only the front loop. Am I doing it wrong?
@AMenagerieofStitches
@AMenagerieofStitches 4 месяца назад
You only want to go through the front loops if you’re doing an invisible decrease. Any other time you go under both loops, unless the pattern you’re following says otherwise. 💕💕
@akeakamaipagelsdorf3182
@akeakamaipagelsdorf3182 4 месяца назад
Do you have to repeat that process over and over until it closes or just once and do the rest normally?
@AMenagerieofStitches
@AMenagerieofStitches 4 месяца назад
It would depend on the pattern and what it states to do. For example, a pattern might have *Sc 2, inv dec* 6 times. That means you repeat the sequence over 6 times. This type of row makes the piece smaller. Ending rows in amigurumi usually state "Inv dec around 6 times." This is how the piece closes. It's best to look at the pattern you're using though as the designer might have special instructions 💞💞

can i use this for every project?
@AMenagerieofStitches
@AMenagerieofStitches Год назад
I would only use an invisible decrease if you're making things in the round. If you're working flat pieces (chain 1 and turning the work) I would use a regular decrease ❤️❤️❤️
