I don't know if my iron gets hotter than yours, but if I went over the beads for as long as you did the beads would be nearly flat. And don't even put my iron on the highest heat setting. I'm getting better at not melting the beads too much, but occasionally I still do it and it's so frustrating!
Question, can you do this even if you don't have the board? Because where I bought mine all the boards were out so I don't have one, I have the beads and I can make the form I need, I just don't have the board
The title of the video was not How to do perler beads perfectly every time 🤣 like dang she messed up no need to be disrespectful go find a different video 😂
I talked with a lady once who only ironed her projects on one side. She ironed on the opposite side of the one she was going to use to display them so that the front always looked smooth, clean and not melted.
Tbh it when I move my iron In circles, it ruins my project but when I just put it still in one spot it works fine. Just a suggestion xd this works for me, but probably doesn’t work for everyone so don’t think this is the “Correct way” to iron the beads. Good luck!
*tutorial on melting beads "perfectly"* -irons on the board(which can destroy it) -flips the board over dislodging loose beads - ends up with a very uneven melt This...was a fail 🤦♀️
@@0_o475 I dont need to when others have already done it. This just wasn't one of the good ones. Repetition unnecessary. I can't help but poke fun at the irony in it though ;P
LJPengu regardless if others have “perfected” it, you can’t call someone’s art a failure unless you can do way better. Edit : and even then you shouldn’t call people’s work a failure it’s friggin rude.
Way too much heat, you don't want the holes to close. You want them to shrink only slightly and stay uniform across the whole design. The goal is to melt the perler beads together, not destroy the shape of the beads. I tend to use a medium heat and go in slow even circles. The tip of the iron is where heat is focused, so only use that if you have a really stubborn bead that's refusing to fuse to the one beside it, and only use that tip on the edge of the bead to melt it to the adjacent bead (avoid the holes). Be patient, you can't rush art if you want it to be nice, and follow these tips. Your perler creations will look so much better.
Why are so many comments about melting and burning things? Do you just put the iron on full and leave it on there for an hour? start at low temp and ramp it up slowly if it doesn't work. I guess the fully fused 'square' style is a personal preference? I like mine the best when they're fused at the back, but the front is still nice and unmolten.
if you know what you are doing & dont iron on the board longer then 4 second intervalls until the beads has melted then you shouldnt have a problem with melting/warping the board & IF you do warp the board then take a hairdryer & heat it up and put it under something heavy overnight , thats atleast what i do when i accidentaly warp my board,
The rendering is too random with these kind of beads once ironed. Some keep holes and others do not. On one side the pixel effect is missed, and on the other the rendering looks like marshmallow.
wtf?... With all due respect... Nobody but you cares about learning from YOUR mistakes, or you learning by YOUR doing. What we do care for is misguiding videos like this one. If you recognize that you made mistakes, and that this is far from perfect.. why dont you delete it and upload it again doing it right? or why dont you change the title to sth less misguiding like "How I failed ironing beads"? Or is it that it is but a bait for views...? I wonder...
I take your criticism on board, I hear you. Yes this video was titled this way to bring new viewers to the channel to actually click on the video. This one is going to stay the way it is, because as a creator it is bringing viewers in like yourself, criticizing it, others liking it and other that don't care and just watch it. If I ever make a perler bead ironing video then yes it will be titled accordingly
.. . . well... at least you're honest. Your channel, your choice, of course, but I think this is gonna bring much more criticism and hate over you than anything else. I can see already quite a few of that in the comments.... I just feel sad that you choose clicks over content, that's all. Peace to you.
me: MOM! my mom: yes? me: do we have baking paper? 👉🏻👈🏻 my mom: what are you gonna use baking paper for? me: umm perler beads my mom: we don't have any My hope:📉📉📉📉📉📉📉
I am failing to get the info what is the ideal temperature to melt these .. "medium" is absolutelo no info .. my iron has to set exact temperature like 120 degrees or 160 .. I usea professional iron .. I don´t have a basic one .. on my first press I melted the beads with the first borad completely in only 10 seconds .. it was liquid when I opened it ... I used 160 degrees so I guess 100 is "medium" ? :D .. thankfull I bough 20 boards as I expect that I will melt 10 before I figure out the basic settings that the manufacturer forgot to mention like EVERYWHERE ...I am also shocked why the board is not made of heat resistant silicone .... :/ (110-120°C is the perfect temperature if anyone don´t want to suffer like me) :) .. also lasercut a wooden frame taller than the board and 1mm smaller than the beads and you will never damage your board.
I did my first one and I'm happy. I have a cheap $7.50 Steam Iron that I bought from Kmart and it worked. At first I had it on a medium setting but I came to this video and since she said on the max I did exactly that and it worked. It failed the first 2 times so I had to keep repairing it. Did the little Minecraft creeper head as my first one.
Why would upload something like a tutorial and then say “don’t do it this way”? People are watching for tips to make theirs better and you’re showing them the wrong way to do something. If you make a mistake, do another take. This was the biggest waste of time.
you ironed it for too long , it happened to me too when i started out too , try evenly ironing it with 4 second intervalls on the highest setting while making sure to keep the iron as straight as you can & then carefully lift the parchment paper to check your perler bead creation, when everything is stuck together you can flip the board & let it sit for 5-10 min for it to release from the board .
Lots of people use the masking tape method (it's very simple, just Google "masking tape perler bead method"), and then only iron one side and just make sure to iron well. It will leave the other side looking untouched, which some people prefer
Fellow Moonie, this video is a life saver! I kept getting impatient and taking the paper off while it was still warm because I wanted to be sure I did it proper XD I ran into the problem of curving, too. Thanks so much!
Is this coincidental or did you match your outfit, nail varnish and necklace with your perler bead creation? :D When i first saw your bead creation i thought of Diana and not Luna, but either way it is very cute!
I tried to iron my very first project the other day and the beads wouldn't fuse together, so I came here for troubleshooting and- I have the exact same iron! So that answers my question perfectly lol I learned other good tips as well so thanks!
Hi I have Hama (I’m from Netherlands) and Hama shows to only iron one side and shows on the box that the not ironed side is the front and instructions they don’t say wich side is the front they say it’s ready when ironed. But perler beads say to iron both side so what is the correct way of ironing and when done wich side is the front? I always thought the not ironed side and I thought Hama was the main brand of fuse beads and that other home or cheap brands from stores like ikea or something it was a fake 😂 but just recently I found out there are/where more quality brands like perler but it’s American so not our main brand. But I am glad perler and Hama are almost the same quality cause I was scared that I had a crappy brand and perler where better and you almost can’t get it somewhere here. So I am just gonna continue with Hama 😊 it’s also all I have known since my childhood.
I was gifted an 11" x 11" perler craft, and on my first attempt to iron it only a couple sections fused. Is it possible to try again and iron the whole piece together?
I was looking on Pinterest and found a burger and chips design and I did it but when I came to ironing them it would work and they wasn't ironing at all !!! But I'm from England and can't get the Perler bead make so that's annoying aswell xxx but you vids are great xxx
