A failed brake hose can cause a Caliper to stick, resulting in overheating, rotor warping etc. This video shows a very easy way to isolate which component is causing the issue.
symptions of a bouncing tire, that does not turn freely enough is a seized brake, bearing or maybe even a broken brake rotar that does not have a double side with fins in the middle anymore but the inner side is down to the ribs. Preventititve maintenance to have this checked and remedied.
Just had the same issue. I rebuilt the caliper thinking that was it. Nope, brake hose. Did end up getting a good video on caliper rebuild, but holding it until I am sure everything is working. Thanks for the tip!
I just bought this 2004 Suburban and I noticed the brake/ABS plug underneath the front passenger seat was unplugged. Soon as I plugged it up the 2 front brakes passenger /driver started dragging. I wonder if the previous owner unplugged the plug for that reason. To release the brakes I opened up the bleeder screw. And when I changed the brakes both passenger/driver side brakes was to the metal. Can having the ABS plugged up cause the brakes to drag? Leaving it unplugged will it help stop the dragging? BOTH SIDES ARE STICKING AT THE SAME TIME.
Mine don't release fully so it squeels when driving not hitting the brake. How can I sold this issue and know if the brake or the hose. I just blead them n it blead fine
I'm going to take everything off. This is crazy. I freed up the caliper with a hammer but it won't bleed any fluid and that caliper won't clamp down. Maybe collapsed hose.... Btw I bought a rebuilt caliper years ago and it was doing great but the vehicle sat for 6 years due to alternator and bad clutch cylinder.
when i park on a slight hill and stop then press hard on my brakes then let off the brake peddle off the brake holds on for 2 seconds before it lets go, i changed the calliper and hose but its still the same, can you help me diagnose it please? thank you
Sounds like the caliper is seized. In that case I would put new calipers and hoses on it. Hoses are usually around $20 each (depending on vehicle) so they aren't very expensive.
Hi on my c5 Corvette I can hear scraping on both of my rotors..on the right side I can move it easy but on my left I have to put a lil force to move it . And it did trow out a lil brake fluid but not as much and still a lil hard to spin is it the caliper?
Bro same car same problem keep me updated. I took off the caliper and compressed then I put it back on then I hit the brakes and try to spin the rotor but it’s basically locked up. I’m thinking of replacing the hose next
@@foreignsmoke7198 hey. I got it fixed my brake fluid was really dirty and my brake master it was clogged up on the little hole where the fluid passes by
@@foreignsmoke7198 so did you check your caliper piston? If not check them . Take the caliper of the caliper bracket.. and put a 2x4 or something so the pistons won't fly out..when press the brake & see which piston got stuck
Thx for the response bro I appreciate that. For me a rock shot up in between my brake and roter and left and outward scratch on my brake pad that was cutting into my rotor and causing the scraping noise. Swapped the brakes and problem solved.
You said you were isolating it, not showing us that it's seized. Kinda knew that before looking at the video, your video was supposed to show how to isolate it, not identify it.
