In the garage on a cold, wet afternoon working on "Thor" the 1967 427 Corvette. Today I'm going to detail the installation of an essential wiring harness clip and starter bracket that can keep your vintage Corvette or other classic from burning to the ground while you're out for a cruise. I also give a brief explanation as to why wiring and other detail items are often overlooked in automobiles, and why it's so important to properly inspect your vintage car to keep it safe.

Good video. 👍 Also fuel line hazards abound, you always see steel lines cut and cheap plastic filters added in with rubber fuel line. The factory almost never used rubber line on the pressure side of a fuel pump so neither should you. Take the time and spend the money to do it right with steel line between pump and carb.

Definitely, rubber pressure lines are a fire waiting to happen. I've seen many vintage cars burned to the ground after the original steel lines are replaced for rubber👍.

Thank you for your helpful wiring tutorials. The previous owner of my C2 miss routed both the coolant hose and the voltage regulator harness to be in front of the hood bracket when it should be behind it. Additionally, both of these lines were damaged ( fire hazard )by the generator because they were leaning up against it as a result of not being attached to the fender wall . I have an assembly manual which shows clips for the wires but, vendors are selling wire ties. Do you know which are the correct wire retainers for a non AC ‘65? Thanks and, Thor is awesome!

Hey C, thanks for the kind words, glad I could be of help. I may be misremembering, but believe the harness and coolant line on the 65's are attached with a black clip that resembles the look of an oversized zip tie. The catalogs may just be using a different nomenclature for the clips, but you should be able to cross reference with the PN# in the AIM to make sure you're receiving the correct one. Let me know if you need anything else👍.
