Jake - your videos are not only informational, not only educational, and not only entertainment - your videos have the ability to make me feel better if I'm having a crappy day. You are doing the world a valuable service with your enthusiasm. Thanks for that.
Fish catching is one of the banes of the hobby for me, I cannot believe how incredibly easy you make it look! I'm picking up a specimen container right now! Bravo sir!
Reefbuilders is my absolute favourite RU-vid channel. I loved this video and I love all your content, it’s fun and educational and I never feel like your trying to sell me something. I always learn something every time I watch one of your videos and I just want to thank you.
I’m newish to your channel Jake but wow your videos are super informative and very helpful. I’m currently on a 60 gallon project and your videos are helping me along the way 👍🏻
Loved this! Great tips. 5 in one hit is impressive! I’m planning a move in the next 3-4 weeks and dreading catching my fish in my 82cm high reef tank! Looks ace but super tough to work on 🙄.
Great job Jake in corralling the yellow tangs together in one take. 😊 introducing more tangs into my 600g will be somewhat of a challenge but I plan on putting 4-5 more in there with the 7 I already have under cover of darkness. I have plenty of rock work for them to hide as well as alot of swim throughs for the fish so I’m hopeful I’ll be able to pull it off.
I love the tang fish family so much. I tried to get set up for them about 6 years ago but we ended up down sizing and selling my 180 and don't have much room right now to set something up. I enjoyed this video and the techniques you used to make this work. I would like to get a 24x48x12 50 gallon aquarium at some point and try again.
Wow, pretty impressive how easy you made that look, I've always thought it was near impossible to net fish in a reef tank. I'd like to see how you do it in a taller aquascaped reef tank. I have a clear net for catching reef fish while diving, but have never seen the clear plastic specimen tub technique.
Awesome video. I've been using a similar method to catch fish for years, except I use fish bags which is easier to place in a packed reef tank. No extra frags this way and less stressful for the fish.
Your a Great fisherman! No rod and reel thanks man I enjoyed the cheap thrills... People love fishing it's kid friendly too. Keep up the fun show can't wait for the new articles to read Id love to join the reef builder team tell evan I say hey
Merci Jake Trop Cool c’est toujours un plaisir de voir tes vidéos même si pour moi il est compliqué de comprendre car je ne parle pas la langue de Shakespeare 👍♥️👍
Jake you are a genius. Been trying to catch a gem tang for the last couple of days with no luck then I remembered this video bang second try and got him
That was some VERY impressive Wrangling;) And YES you do make people's day;) Yes, your technique is impressive! And at the perfect time as we are trying to catch 3 yellow tangs in a crowded tank to separate, and or (we now know;) we can as you call it, "reset the skool" in another tank.. Awsome possum, great stuff!! Buying a couple a containers about tomorrow ;)
When it comes to a favorite tang, mine is the Mimic Tang since it's a more affordable option for a yellow Tang and buying them bigger and fatter is better since they have been in the store being fed the same flakes and pellets you will feed them at home. My Mimic Tang, named Melanie, is very active and loves her Ocean Nutrition Formula Two Flakes and Hikari Seaweed Extreme Sinking Pellets and even fights the damsels for the food. She's one of the more docile tangs I know but I will be adding a powder brown, a sailfin, and a white tail bristlerooth in her tank with her and maybe I'll try to redecorate the tank to reset it and they will be added at the same time.
Great video I have a quick question my 4ftx2ft currently has a hippo and a 2 spot I want to add a dejardini and a tomini will I be successful? The hippo and 2 spot blue eye kole tang are about 2inch.
Could you make a video on damselfish? They are beautiful fish and a shoal of them looks incredible but they are demonized by many but the way they form groups in nature and create their algae gardens is very interesting and possible a fun addition to some reef tanks.
i added my 4 tangs powder blue/regal/yellow /mimic all at same time and think was key! 6ft 2ft 2ft and 90% get on well and found most aggressive at lights out for some reason!
Wow that could not have gone better! Any word on wild yellow tang availability improving? I want to add one but they are rare in Australia and cost over $1000. We cannot import captive bred either.
Using the reset method, could I add two yellow and one purple tang together simultaneously? With the idea of acclimating them together in the same bucket before introducing them into the tank? Thanks in advance 🙏🏽
Thank you for the great video. Very informative! I am setting up a 6ft 140g tank and when the time comes, will order yellow tangs from Biota. Would a pair be ok, or is it better to have an odd number?
Jake, I have a 4' x 2' foot tank and currently have a bristle tooth tang in it. I'd like to add 1 or 2 more tangs to my tank, which breeds would you suggest adding? my bristle tooth is about 2-2 1/2" long.
my regular trio fo reef tanks is a Zebrasoma (yellow or scopas), convict tang, and I usually start it off with a Tomini (bristle mouth). If you add a convict and a yellow/scopas/purple at the same time you should be alright, especially if the Tomini is a little smaller and the others are a little bit bigger
