Facts. It’s all about bone structure and muscle length/placement. The only thing having a heavy fast twitch fiber composition does for you is makes you stronger/more explosive in proportion to how much muscle mass you have. I have a higher than average fast twitch 1 and 2 composition, and it actually somewhat contradicts what he’s saying here. I don’t look very bulky but I surprise people with how much I lift and can sprint a lot faster than most muscular sprinter body type guys (I’m a college 400/800 runner). Both fast twitch and slow twitch muscle will hypertrophy when trained correctly, and it doesn’t effect size.

Some of it are slight indicators of good genetics for bodybuilding. If you have capped or broad shoulders, small waist in your teenage years you are going to have a better V taper which is essential for bodybuilding. If you have a large mass to your frame BEFORE training that means you have more potential for mass. Mass builds more mass. This is coming from me, a person with well above average genetics as I do Olympic weightlifting and I look like a bodybuilder,I'm a natural sprinter, naturally explosive, broad shoulders+small waist, terrible diet and still making gains long after noobie gains.

I started working out consistently in 2020 when I was 13-14. I’d always doubted myself because I was fat, but I’d always have a great performance in explosive sports like weightlifting in middle school without training. I remember distinctly, maxing out our leg press machine for a few reps to impress some girls, and always being good at physical gym sports despite never training. Despite that: I’d start working in 2020 due to boredom in the pandemic, and about two months after I dropped 20 pounds. It was nothing special just basic calisthenics, and a small amount of dumbbell training, but I started seeing results, that I never expected. I gained confidence and kept going harder with an organized schedule, and I started getting compliments on my physique from other people, and I just felt better. Three years later and I feel like a complete idiot for not getting into sports earlier. I have great genetics for weightlifting, and In mid 2022 my friends roped me into the local gym. They wanted to see how I’d do with weights, since I’d only gone on and off with dumbbells and mostly relied on body weight exercises. I pulled 315 on deadlift and 155 on bench, with horrendous form on both ( my back looked like a U on the deadlift, and I took almost 30 seconds on the bench because I thought you were supposed to go really slow.) I haven’t been able to go back due to transportation issues, but I’ve been working harder, and gotten even stronger. It’s entirely possible that the majority of people have decent or even great genetics, but their just not working out due to self confidence issues, just like I did as a little kid. You never really know till you try and even if your genetics suck, then you still have room to improve in your own areas. Genetics are no excuse to quit, and most people have alright or even good genetics for working out.

When I was a skinny kid I did 100 push ups and sit-ups for 5 days, bc I didn't really know it took more time to develop muscles so I gave up, also I lost weight from working out which wasn't good... I might have worked out from time to time but I never went all the way. Until I was 13 I suddenly had a little bit of inspiration to workout more often I had 8 workouts I did 3 times everyday. One day I went to my grandparents house and got to visit my dad, and my dad being somewhat of a bodybuilder he would always have a little wrestle with me, but the whole week I was there I didn't workout, so I felt a bit weaker so when I got back home I started working out again doing my usual workouts, but before I went to my grandparents I was developing bicep, shoulder, forearm, and back muscles at a decent amount I was definitely seeing results but I didn't really know about taking break days for better results and I was all natural without a diet so I didn't get great results but it was results. When I got home I was a little rusty but I remembered my workouts and somewhat of a schedule but a week back at my house I got sick, really sick my throat was sore, my muscles were sore, and I coughed daily but I think I was hitting puberty while I was sick mostly because while I was sick I was developing a voice deeper than batman's and I grew 3 inches taller in 2 weeks but I was sick for 3 weeks and I felt hot, my body was on fire I sneezed and stayed in bed daily, but when I was healthy again I was really rusty, barely remembering my workouts and 1 week later... I gave up.

The major predictor of smo having great genetics is the length of their collar bone or in general their shoulder to hip ratio, when people with wide collar bone and narrow hips starts to workout they'll end up with amazing physique but others with super narrow collar bone will look not so good even after yrs of hard work. Therefore; WIDE COLLAR BONES = GREAT GENETICS 👍otherwise not so good and even though working out can make u feel better abt urself and u will obviously see changes in ur physique u will most probably not end up becoming a body builder

All of this is from my current understanding of sports and bodybuilding 1. Fast twitch muscle fibers are trained through fast twitch motions, like a punch or sprint, not a squat or bench, so slow twitch muscle fiber genetics are more deterministic for bodybuilding 2. How big you were as a kid can have some indication of how much baseline mass your body holds but not your insertions, training response, or metabolism 3. Having a big appetite will be great if you’re bulking but to get stage ready if you want to be a bodybuilder it will also make it more difficult to cut
