for those still afraid, practice the motion with your bed if you have enough room, you'll land softly and you can practice hand placement, got me over the fear of kongs and now i do it all over the place, not so hard and is quite impressive :) thanks Ronnie for helping me so much!!!!
like napalmstrike235 said, a cat leap and a kong/monkey vault are two completely different things. Cat pass is the same though. A cat leap is where you jump (usually over a gap) and have your feet make contact with the wall while your hands grab the top of the wall. From there you can muscle up and get on top of the obstacle. Hope this is helpful.
man i been strugling with this my hole life until i understand that my feet should be perpendicular with the obstacle instead of being at the same line of it
I don't think anyone will care, but my school recently bought this vault thing, and I asked if I could try it out. I wasn't really sure how I do any type of vault other than the safety vault, so I quickly went to RSS and watched this video. Ronnie made it really easy to understand and within the first time after watching this video I actually did this! On impact I tried to safety roll, but I banged my knee on my head, so I still have a lot to work on! Just wanted to thank Ronnie for so many awesome tutorials!! - Me
Itai Bieber, by the looks of them, my guess is; that he and maybe someone else MADE them. They’re not that hard to make, though, you’d have to get the right height for making them- in order to properly do the vault without falling on your face and looking like that thing from the Goonies. 😂
I had to do the Kong Vault in school and I didn't make it until everyone was telling me that I was going too slow even though I was pretty much running. The secret is to SPRINT towards the object that you want to clear and LEAP right in there. Then all you have to do is using your hands and finish your jump. And that's how I jumped over aprox. 1,70m with this technique.
Are there any objects I can do the kong vault off of other than a couch. On the couch It is hard to land because the cushions are raised up. I am looking for something close by and still comfortable for vaulting.
Mister fish face playz probably cuz you didn’t do the vault right. I’m no expert, but, it’s all in the right timing, hand placement, and leap/jump power and formation.
Yes!!!, I can Finally Vault ,I Used To Be Scared I Was Gonna Land On My Face, But I Eventually Got The Hang Of It, Next Thing, Hmmmm, Can SOmone Tell Me What I Should Do Next?
i'm going to practice the kong vault tomorrow, i bet when i'm jumping i'm pressing my legs as far as possible to my chest and hope that it will freaking work xDD
I'm 14 and I've been doing parkour for less than one year and me and my 7yr old brother worked from our trampoline tricks to the ground annd these videos help me to learn new tricks thanks
Bodan Kostov kinda at least they are not Jacob Sartorious or Danielle Cohn. Like they can't sing I would rather let them stick to Musically than singing.
This video inspired me to start learning parkour and when I started to try this vault I was scared so I started practising on smaller ledges and my friend also taught me because he is very good at parkour and I finally gob the kong vault
OMG YOU ARE SOO HELPFULL ! I wanted to do parkour but there arent places nearby so i started training with your techniques for two days and now i can easly do a kong vault in things with 1,5 metters long (i am only 14 years old so please dont start saying "omg thats so easy" pls).
@rodrigo del cid ikr? They don't do that on iPhone either. And you can't send a reply comment directly to someone all you can do is just say @so and so. Anyways, great tut Ronnie. I already know the monkey and kong vaults but its always great to watch a tutorial from a master like you. And get well soon :)
i would say the fastest way is pressups and weights. The best way to train your body al-in-one is pullups (TIP make sure your palms are facing outwards-that way you train your back, triceps and biceps. Very vital in parkour.)
The more you pull with your hands before your feet come through helps you get better distance. Also getting down low and keeping your back horizontal in the air
It's not "wrong" to do the kong jumping with both feet at the same time, but doing so does take a lot of your initial speed. It's recomended once you get the hang of jumping with both feet to do a running jump, especialy for long kongs, where you really need as much speed as posible to clear the obstacle.
