I just watched like 2 hours of his videos, watching Johnny giger skate is like going to the bar for 1 beer, you end up with 12 and come home at 3 in the morning
@@jeremy4410 In a Game of Skate it’s more about having all simple tricks on lock, but Jonny is more about pushing skateboarding by doing tricks only a handful of skaters are able to do. Of course Jonny is a fantastic skater and he can also do a lot of the simpler tricks consistently but there are other skaters focusing more on getting all the simple tricks consistent. Someone experienced in game of skate will probably quickly find a weakness in Jonnys repertoire and will be able to exploit it. Jonny is still my favorite skater and I’m just happy to see him compete. He probably won’t win, but it will be a lot of fun to watch him and I would love to see him get very far in the competition. He‘ll have to beat John Hill to leave the influencers bracket, that’s already not guaranteed.
@@Krmpfpks yeah you have a point... but if you saw the video on braillie of Jonny playing a game of skate against John hill, you can see that John hill kept on doing the simple tricks and Jonny being able to do them as well.. although the video was over a year ago i believe that Jonny has basically all tricks on lock
Its a great tricktip. But one thing he left out. Laser flip is a combination of pressure and a sling shot motion. What I mean is this: your heelflip foot should have all the forward pressure while the backfoot also has pressure. When you pop it gonna be like a slingshot motion cause of the pressure points. Only things thats left is to timer the flick and flip
Finally someone that agrees with me on the direction of the flick. I've been working on this for 8 years and I just recently started doing it exactly how you explained it a few months ago. So glad I'm doing them right now I just have to get them consistent.
I had the same issue!!! I have been trying for 5 years. Every time I would land I would just start rolling fakie! Excited to finally try this method of flicking. It was like the light bulb effect. I have a strong feeling about this method.
@@MCSgamers update on me: still haven’t landed one. The flick method is really working but now I have trouble keeping it under me. Always a back foot land
Been working on it for years aswell, I have the rotation every time I just can’t seem to find bolts when trying to stomp it out, smh… landed one out of a bank when I was drunk but that’s it lol
I wish I never blew out my knee. Had to quit skating nearly 15 years ago at 22yo because of a work injury that never healed. It just made falling safely impossible. I can still do low effort/soft flatground and freestyle tricks but I always strived for the tech street style as prescribed by Rodney and Daewon in their Round X series.
Your the best I've ever seen jonny. Love your channel, personality, your accent, and especially your skate style. Please don't change a thing. It's gnarley brother man. Thank you for all you've done and doing. You truly are the greatest! Sinceraly, Shane harrison
Dude can we all just appreciate how much Jonny does for us. I’m in the USA and I’ve been a fan of your since the Alexander rademaker vid 😁 thank you for all that you do Johnny you’re the man I absolutely love your accent too
love the recording yourself tip. Iv been doing it for a bit now and been smashing through new tricks it really helps you look at what you are doing and analyse it and when you land it you get to look back at it and its awesome. don't be nervous to record yourself in front of people just go for it and have fun. love the videos videos dude
I wish I could still Skate. I rolled my ankle too many times without letting it heal properly and now there's basically nothing left. I roll it just walking regularly lol I still love watching your videos lol
Love this trick, I learned front 3 shuvs first just cuz I had my eyes set on that then once I had those on lock. I just threw a heelflip into it and it’s not much harder. Just a slight kick

Wow that's an excellent pointer I've never thought of the trick this way which is why I either end up making it 270 or land upside down it felt like I just lacked the strength scoop it around I will try this out I somehow can do them fakie tho lol
First off, who the hell thumbs down Jonny? Secondly, this makes so much sense with a lot of other tricks with similar mechanics. I’m probably going to go give this a try in a few minutes. I’d love to see an in depth video of Ollie impossibles. Maybe cover the common mistakes you’ve found personally or you notice in others.
That's such a cool looking trick with such a cool name. I can see how and why not many skaters do this trick. It is a very hard trick to learn. Especially if you don't have much experience skating.
Yo' Jonny I recently discovered your channel, amazing content and glad to find out you are Swiss too, Haven't skated in years but your channel is giving me the motivation to start over! Cheers from a Swiss-Argentinean guy living in Luxembourg!
nice video dude. You could make a whole series, even basic tricks. People like to hear nuance and really really understand certain tricks imo. And you do a good job
Tried this trick properly for the first time yesterday and I might have a RU-vid video up on my channel for when I land my first ever one very soon hopefully, good tips man🤙
There’s tutorials for this on a fingerboard buuuuuut this video really helped finally truly understand how to Laserflip and I got it on like my 9th tryish 😂😂
you said you scoop your back foot as hell in front of you but the 40° turn of your backfoot is also very important to spin the Board so fast. I already missed that information in your 360flip tutorial.
Not sure if you covered inward heel flip but I’d like some tips on it like how to perfect it better like what’s your take on this trick oh and thank you for this video the laser flip makes more sense now you actually made it easier by saying the tips much appreciated 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I love this channel
best tip for laser flips: the scoop and flip ratio has the same dynamic as a 360 flip. it literally feels like a opposite 360 flip. it blew my mind when i realised that.
Ayyy soon as rain stops here imma try learn laser flip i have varial heel super easy and 360 front shuv good too soo just gotta try it I have really good scoop on my tricks so that gon help for sure
Hey Jonny, an advice for the front shoot when you are talking to the camera. Increase the fps in the camera, you can put it in 60fps, and it seems more natural and less freezy, hope it helps you ;)
Always remember, POP down and then everything else he says 🤝👍🏼 you’ll get sucked into the flip and 360, don’t lose sight of that initial pop and quick push reaction with the back foot 💯
Any advice if I'm consistently landing the full spin but my front foot lands in front of the board? Back foot lands on about the middle of the board. Not sure how much more I can jump backward.
I tried practicing nollie scoops one day for the hell of it and kept accidentally flipping nollie lasers. I can't even come close to this riding normal so ever since then I've been practicing them nollie and switch and I'm pretty close and can't wait until I finally land one
